About THE LAST LETTER:

Beckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the “last-letter” drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there were any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: Get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

“A stunning, emotional romance.” – Jill Shalvis, NYT Bestselling Author

Excerpt:

“Ella.” It was a plea to speak, to not speak. Hell, I didn’t know anymore.

“You don’t see me like that. I totally get it.” She reached for the TV remote.

“How exactly do I see you? Please, enlighten me.” I leaned forward, stealing the remote. She’d opened this box and had better well dish it.

She huffed in annoyance. “You see me as a mom. As Colt and Maisie’s mom. And of course you do, because that’s what I am. A mom with two kids.”

“Well, yeah,” I said. Her motherhood—that selfless devotion she had to her kids—was one of her most attractive attributes.

She rolled her eyes with a little sigh, and the metaphorical light bulb went off in my head.

“You don’t think I want you.”

She shot me a look that confirmed my guess and blushed the same crimson of her couch. “You know, you’re right. It’s late.” She faked a yawn. “Suuuuuuper late.”

“I want you.” Damn, it felt so good to say the words.

“Yeah, okay.” She gave me a goofy look and a thumbs-up. “Please don’t make me feel any more idiotic than I do right now.”

Yeah, enough of this bullshit.

I pounced in one smooth motion, taking her back to the couch, sliding over her as I gathered her wrists in one hand above her head and settled between her open thighs.

Home.

“Holy shit, you move fast.” There was no fear or rejection in her eyes, just surprise.

“Not in every arena,” I promised.

Her lips parted.

“Ella. I want you.”

“Beckett…you don’t have to.”

Yeah, that soft little sigh she did was going to be my undoing.

I let go of her wrists, letting my fingers trail down her arm until I had one hand weaving my fingers into the hair at the base of her scalp and the other at the curve in her waist.

“Feel this?” Then I slid forward, letting my dick stroke along the seam in her pajama pants hard enough for her to gasp at the contact. I couldn’t remember ever wanting to shred a piece of fabric so much in my life. “I’ve never wanted a woman as much as I want you.”

I moved again, and her eyes slid shut as she let loose the sweetest moan.

My dick throbbed, knowing everything I’d fantasized about for the better part of the last eight months was one decision away.

“Beckett.” Her hands found my biceps, her nails digging in.

“Don’t ever think that I don’t want you, because if things were different, I would have already been inside you. I would know exactly how you feel, and what you sound like, look like, when you come. I’ve thought about it at least a hundred different ways, and believe me, I’ve got a great imagination.”

She rocked her hips against me, and I locked my jaw to keep from giving her exactly what her body was asking for. “Ella, you have to stop.”

“Why?” she asked, her lips dangerously close to mine. “What do you mean if things were different?” Her eyes flew wide. “Is this because I have kids?”

“What? No. Of course not. It’s because you’re Ryan’s little sister.” Before I could do any more damage, I got the hell off her and sat back on my side of the couch.

“Because…I’m Ryan’s little sister,” she repeated, scooting so she sat upright, facing me. “And you think he’d, what? Haunt you?”

Three things: The letter. The cancer. The lie.

I repeated those in my head until I was certain I could look at her and not drag her back under me.

“Beckett?”

“When I was growing up, if I wanted something, I took it. Immediately. I had sex at fourteen with a girl in my foster home of the moment. I opened Christmas presents early if I was lucky enough to get one, and it was usually from my social worker or some charity.”

“I don’t understand.” She wrapped her arms around her knees again.

“I took it immediately because I knew if I didn’t, chances were I wouldn’t get it. It was a now-or-never kind of thing—there weren’t second chances.”

“Okay.”

“I can’t touch you, can’t talk about it, because I’m afraid I’ll act on it.”

“And why does that matter if I want you to?”

“Because I won’t get a second chance. And I’m crap with people, with relationships. I’ve never had one that lasted more than a month. Never loved a woman I’ve slept with. And chances are I’d do something to screw this up, because it’s not just my dick that wants you, Ella.”

That O popped right back onto her face, and I closed my eyes to keep from lunging across the distance and kissing her. Knowing she’d let me—that she wanted it—sent my need from a bullet to a nuclear missile.

“And when I’d screw it up, because it would happen, trust me, it would hurt Colt and Maisie, too. You’d be on your own again, because there’s no chance you’d let me hang around and help you out like Ryan asked.”

“And there it is.”

“There it is. You’re Ryan’s little sister.”

“There were only five years between us. Not so little, you know.” She reached for the remote.

“I’m well aware.”

“So if Ryan were still alive…” She shot one last look at me.

I let everything slip for a millisecond, letting her see it all in my eyes, how badly I wanted her, and not just for her body. “Everything would be different.”

“Everything?”

“Everything but the way I feel about you, which he probably would have killed me for. Where does that leave us?”

“You mean besides me being a dried-up spinster and you being honor-bound to a ghost?”

“Something like that.”

She rolled her head along the back of the couch, muttering something that sounded like a curse word under her breath. Then she sat up straight and powered on the TV with a click of her thumb. “That leaves us choosing a movie on demand. Because I’m not letting you walk out that door right now.”

“You’re not?”

“Nope. You walk out now, you might get all weird about this and not come back. Honor is a fabulous thing, but sometimes pride can be a lot stronger, especially when you convince yourself it’s for the good of the other person.”

Damn, the woman knew me.

“So movie it is,” I agreed. “Just…stay on your side of the couch.”

“I wasn’t the one who crossed the center line,” she teased with a smile that got me hard all over again.

Movie chosen, we sat and watched, both of us stealing sideways glances. There was that saying…the horse out of the barn. Yeah, the horse was out of the barn, and it wasn’t going back in. Not no way. Not no how.

That horse was running amok and screwing with my carefully constructed control.

But I didn’t complain when she moved over. Or when she pressed against my side. Nope. I lifted my arm and savored the feel of her curves, her trust. Still didn’t complain when she lay down in my arms. Hell no, I held on and memorized every second.

Technically, you aren’t supposed to fall in love with your best friend’s girl.

But if we’re talking technicalities, he wasn’t supposed to be cheating on her every other weekend, either.

The day I met Mira York, I knew she was off-limits. But after months of stealing side-glances while he ruined the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen, I realized there wasn’t a rule in the world I wouldn’t break to make her mine.

She chose him anyway.

I wasn’t sure how I’d ever move on, but bitterness turned into fuel for my fire.

Without Mira, I thrived.

Until seventeen years later, when she showed back up, begging for protection from the very same man she’d left me for all those years earlier.

Now, it was my turn to choose.

And she wasn’t going to like my answer.

Title: The Bars Between Us

Author: A.S. Teague

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About The Bars Between Us:

I don’t have a damn thing in common with the beautiful rich girl who walks in to my bar. She’s southern class, fancy cars, and designer shoes.

I’ve got a drunk for a mother, a cheater for a father, and a reputation for trouble I’ve more than earned.

I look the other way, pretending I don’t notice how perfect she is. She wouldn’t give me the time of day anyway. Until she shatters that first impression and shows me she’s so much more––everything I never thought I deserved.

After a lifetime of being a disappointment, I want to prove to her that I’m better than my past.

We have one tragic thing in common, and the thread that binds us together will tear us apart as it unravels.

Are we strong enough to break through the Bars Between Us?

*****5 Unforgettably Amazing Stars*****

A.S Teague continues to be an author that completely blows me away with her writing talent and storytelling ability. The ways that she brings her stories, her characters, and the worlds she so authentically creates to life is phenomenal in every way. I have LOVED each and every one of her stories to pieces, and I have loved getting to know and fall in love with the unforgettable and dynamic characters she creates. She has solidified herself as one of my favorite authors, and what she gave me in The Bars Between Us proved that to me again and again.

This book completely took ahold of me from the very first page, and it did not let me go all the way through. It made me smile, it made me feel it all with these characters, and it made me fall so fiercely in love with them as they saw what could be between them. This story had it all.

The Bars Between Us is a love story that packs the perfect level of emotion and heart, connection and fire, past and present, pain and healing, and two characters fighting to find themselves, their hearts, and the glorious possibilities of what could be.

What you get with Bronn and Grace in this book will just amaze you, and will simultaneously make you fall completely in love with them and all that they share. Those two will take ahold of your heart from the very first page, and your love and feelings for them will continue to grow through every turn of that page. This book will show you them at their highest, their lowest, and every valley of emotion in between, and that is just part of what makes this book so exceptional.

A.S. Teague has completely outdone herself with this book, and I truly can’t say that enough.

What I loved about The Bars Between Us:

  • The push and pull of the past and present. From the very start of this book, A.S. Teague brings out the past and present of these characters in the most phenomenal, intense, and memorable way. From the gripping and emotional prologue, to the chapters that follow, through everything you get with Bronn and Grace, that past and present are there, coming together and pushing and pulling against each other in a way that gives you it all. Throughout this story she continues to build on that past and that present in a way that pulls you into everything more, in a way that shows how that past builds to everything in the present, and in a way that grows that tension and intensity in the most tangible of ways. It’s that push and pull between the pasts and presents of Bronn and Grace that give you so much with these characters, that allows you to understand these characters on the deepest of levels, and that will have you beyond ready to see how this story comes together for them. Getting to see and exepreince these characters, their pasts and their presents, and everything in between is something I will truly never forget.
  • Go on with your Bronn self. Bronn is a character that is rough around the edges, with a hardened heart and exterior, and he is not afraid to admit that. You see that man has been through a world of hurt and pain in his life, he’s been told he’s a certain kind of person with a certain trajectory in life, and that has lead him to believing he knows the kind of person he really is….but all of that starts to change when a southern girl with a heart of gold and some fire comes into his bar. What I loved about Bronn was that he truly wanted to prove that he wasn’t the kind of guy that everyone made him out to be. He wasn’t perfect, but he was real, and that man completely stole my heart in this book with his determination and tenacity. Sure he had his moments when the past and the present became too much, and when those rough edges reared their sharp points, but through it all that man kept trying, kept fighting, and kept trying to find who he really was and who he wanted to be. I am telling you, there is no way you can resist that man and his story. He will own your heart, and you will love every second of it.
  • Grace and her genuine heart. Grace was a character that I felt for from the very start of this book. That girl has a heart of gold and has been through a world of hurt and tragedy herself, and she is just trying to find her place in this world where she can be happy and where she can find herself. That search brings her back to Beaufort, South Carolina, a place that feels like home, and a place that brings her face to face with Bronn, a man who she can’t help but connect with even though he puts on that strong front. What I loved about Grace was how strong she was and how she had a bit of fire to her that was just waiting to come out. This book and its events push Grace to her limits, yet that girl faces it all head on, with her heart on her sleeve, ready to do what’s right and ready to do what it takes to get to the place she wants to be. I loved Grace with my whole heart, and getting to be with that girl as she journeyed through this story, as she fought to stand on her own two feet, to find herself and who she wanted to be, and to fight for the feelings she knew were there was everything. It was real, it was her, and it was truly unforgettable.
  • A connection worth fighting for. From the very first moment they meet, Bronn and Grace share a connection that just won’t quit. Even when those two butt heads from time to time, even with his rough shell and her fears and worries, that connection is there between them, building and simmering and growing. Throughout this book that connection continues to build and build between Bronn and Grace, and what starts off as something easy, soon becomes something very real that scares the hell out of those two. Both Bronn and Grace have never felt the things that they do when they’re together, and boy does that scare them to their bones in so many ways, but in the same breath it gives them it all. It gives them that hope for more, that tenacity and fight to keep going when things get tough because of what they share and what could be, and it gives them the world of feeling they share for one another. Through it all that connection is there firing off like crazy, pulling them together like two magnets that can’t help but be brought back together again and again. Getting to experience that through this book is the absolute best, and will have you rooting like hell for these two that they find a way to make it all work.
  • All that glorious emotion. One of the best aspects of this story was the varied and phenomenally captured emotion that wove its way through this book. I literally cannot say enough good things about how A.S. Teague brought that emotion to life. She made that emotion real, and tangible, and so all-feeling through every page in a way that connected me with these characters on the deepest of levels. She not only let me get and understand these characters, she let me feel with them, and be with them through it all as this story progressed. It was that connection and level of unforgettable emotion that made this book the spectacular thing that it is. That glorious emotion, how real and well captured it is, deepens everything you get with these characters and this story in the most phenomenal way. It amplifies everything Bronn and Grace share, it amplifies their pasts and presents, and it heightens everything happening between them because of that amazing emotion and what it gives you. Simply put, the level of emotion A.S. Teague creates in this book is everything, and it makes this story.
  • The want for more. Both Bronn and Grace are looking for more in this book. They’re looking for more for themselves, more for what they want for their lives, and more understanding of what got them to the places they are. I loved getting to experience that want for more with those two. I loved feeling that fire with them, that driving force that exuded out of them both through so much of this book, and I loved getting to be there with them as they both fought for that more. That want for more pulls these two together something fierce, exudes how genuine and real they are, how easy to love and root for they are, and it makes them two characters with some serious heart and fire. Both Bronn and Grace’s journeys in this book are defined in many ways, and it is that want for more that pulls them together, and that gives you so much with them both as they go about trying to find that more they both so truly deserve.

Let me tell you now that you will be blown away by this story. You will be blown away by what A.S. Teague so thoughtfully crafts through every page. You will be blown away by what you get with Bronn and Grace through every word of this unforgettable story. You will be blown away by what they share, how real it is, how deep it all goes, and what it brings out in them both. And in the end you will be blown away by how it all comes together and what that leads these characters to sharing.

You. Will. Be. Blown. Away. And you will LOVE every second of that.

The Bars Between Us is a story about what happens when you try to find yourself, when you find what it is you want and need, and when find that one person who might just give you what you never knew you needed. This book is an all-feeling, emotional, and wholly consuming in a way that will connect you to these characters and their journeys on the deepest of levels, and that will have you with them in the thick of it through it all as they try to see what could be between them.

Bronn and Grace’s story is real, intense, full of meaningful and unforgettable emotion, and in the end it is a story of breaking through the pain and hurt of the past, to get to the present and future you want, you need, and that you completely deserve.

The Bars Between Us is one of my favorite reads of the year, and I can’t recommend it enough. It is so beyond phenomenal, and I truly can’t say enough good things about it and what I got with its characters and their story. It is a book you need in your life, and it is a book that will wow you and blow you away through every word, and that is just part of what makes it so completely incredible.

Bronn

I was pissed.

I’d spent the entire day looking forward to seeing her, and then she’d just blown me off. No call, no text, nothing.

So when she’d texted that she was outside the bar at three a.m., I‘d fought the urge to tell her to take a hike.

I didn’t need to spend my entire day waiting on a phone call.

I didn’t need to hear her voice.

I didn’t need to see her face, hear her laugh, smell her hair.

At least, that was what I was telling myself.

But, it was all lies.

Even after she’d shown up and apologized, I’d continued to tell myself that I didn’t need her, that she didn’t have any effect on me. I’d tried to be cold and distant, not letting her know just how fucking pathetic I’d been tonight. But she wouldn’t stop pushing, apologizing, asking me what was wrong. And the words had flown out of my mouth before I could stop them.

Here I was, pining over a woman, worrying that something had happened to her, or worse, that she had finally decided to cut her losses and move on, like the smart woman I knew she was.

In the matter of mere weeks, I’d gone from the consummate bachelor, destined to be married to my work, to being so wrapped up in a woman that it was a wonder that I could breathe without her.

Though the funny thing was, now, with her nestled beside me in my bed telling me about the not so pleasant parts of her life, I didn’t want to breathe without her.

Not even in the slightest.

I was invested.  It wasn’t even that I wanted to know more about her—I needed it. Deep inside me, I needed to see the ugly parts of her so that I could show her the ugly parts of me. The parts I tried so desperately to keep hidden. The parts that she somehow made acceptable with nothing more than a simple grin and gentle touch. I couldn’t explain it, this deep-rooted need to connect with her, but it was there all the same.

Her body is small against mine, fitting into the curve of my arm as though she’d been made to be there.

And hell…here I am staring down at her, wondering if she had been.

Her soft hand rests over my racing heart and her silky hair smells of flowers as it tickles my chin.

Maybe it was the beers I’d slammed back in a worthless fit of anger earlier, but whatever the reason, I’d spilled the beans about my dad, and then revealed to the only woman I ever wanted to keep the horrible things my piece of shit mother had said.

She should have looked at me with disgust.

She should have run.

She should have never looked back.

But Grace, being well, Grace, her beautiful face above mine, her eyes full of sadness, she stared down at me with respect and admiration blazing in her eyes.

There was no pity, and for that I was thankful.  No, what I saw in her eyes was understanding, a commonality that somehow bonded us, two people from different sides of the tracks. And that thread of likeness only caused the lust to surge through my veins thicker and faster than ever before.

I study her face, asking for something that it’s probably too soon to hope for. But, through her sadness, there’s also desire.

She wants me, too.

*****5 Unforgettably Cord & Dana Stars*****

Let me tell you what I know. The sky is blue. My favorite color is purple. Coffee is everything. And M. Mabie knows how to write one helluva damn good book.

Like for real y’all.

I already knew all of those things, especially that last one, before reading this incredible book, but I know them even more now after reading All the Way. This phenomenal standalone romance by M. Mabie was a breath of fresh air that had me laughing out loud more times than I could count, swooning something fierce, and melting for all that I got within the pages of this book with these dynamic and unforgettable characters.

This book was like a tall glass of iced tea after a long hot day. It was so satisfying and refreshing, it quenched every thirst I had and felt, and it just felt so so good and got better and better the more I took it all in.

All the Way wowed me. It blew me away with all that it had. It made me laugh. It made me fall so damn hard for what these characters shared, their unforgettable back and forth, and what their story gave me with them along the way. It made me smile. It made me happy. It allowed me to experience and live and breathe every bit of what these characters shared.

This book made me feel. It made me feel the literal spark and connection firing off between these characters through every word of this book. It made me feel the vibrancy, color, and life of their unforgettable personalities. It made me feel every ounce of what they shared together, and it made me feel how just how good things could be between these characters.

This book gave me it all. And then some.

I’m pretty sure I read this book with a smile so big my cheeks hurt, and with a heart so full that I knew I would not soon forget what M. Mabie so exceptionally crafted and created within this book. I seriously feel as if I could use all of the positive adjectives under the sun to describe this book, its amazing characters, and what it gave me, and I still would only scratch the surface with describing how utterly wonderful it was to read and experience.

All the Way is a story about what happens when the guy who’s done all he can to make himself ready for the woman of his dreams, meets the one woman who doesn’t want to fall for it, or for him.

This book follows the unforgettable and swoonworthy romance of Cord and Dana. Two people who are ready for something more. Only there’s one little problem…one of them doesn’t think that something more could be happening between them.

You see Cord has done all he can to be read for The One. He’s a good guy, with a genuine heart and some serious personality to boot, who knows he’ll know what to do when he meets that special someone he’s been waiting for. But you see, when he meets Dana he soon realizes that every plan he had went out the door because that girl throws him for one helluva loop. He knows from the moment he sees her that there’s something about her that can’t be denied, and something he can’t resist and has to have more of, but the thing is, Dana’s over guys like Cord. Or the kind of guy that she thinks Cord is.

Dana is a girl we can all relate to. She’s the girl who always finds herself attracted to and after the asshole, even though she knows that gets her nowhere she really wants to be. She’s the one who holds herself back, who just doesn’t let herself get too close because it’s never felt right. But you see, she’s ready to change. It’s time for a new leaf, and Dana is ready to have one last fling before putting her ducks in a row, and getting serious because she’s over the way things have been in her love life. And that last fling she’s looking to have before getting serious? Well it may or may not involve one Cord Taylor. (It totally involves Cord Taylor.)

The story that unfolds between Cord and Dana in this book is bursting with their spark filled connection, their vibrant and distinctive personalities, and the perfect blend of steam, pull, feels, and that oh so glorious angst that M. Mabie hits out of the park every damn time.

All the Way follows these two as Cord gives it all he’s got to make Dana realize what’s really happening between them, and as Dana tries just as hard to resist everything he’s doing to her and making her feel. These two definitely make each other work for it a bit, or a lot, but what you get with them along the way as they get closer and closer, as their feelings become oh so real and oh so undeniable, will have you rooting for them with all you have. They don’t make it easy, but trust me when I say they make it so beyond worth it.

What you get with them will have you needing with every breath in your body that these two can figure it all out, remove those obstacles, and give into what’s really happening between them as they see what happens when you truly go all the way.

I have to say that one of my favorite aspects of this book was getting to experience Cord and Dana, their personalities, and every glorious bit of what they shared. There was something about those two that stole my heart with everything they had, and I honestly don’t even want it back because I’m pretty sure Cord and Dana own a permanent piece of my heart after what I got with them during this book. What they share is so real, so authentic, so full of feels and fire and heart, and even though they don’t make it easy, they make working for it the best thing in the world with what they give you in this book.

And let me tell you right this very second that there is no resisting one Cord Taylor. That man will sweep you up with his charm, with his goodness, and with his heart, and you will be in love with him from the very first page. Trust me on that one. That love will grow and deepen through every turn of that page, and by the time you reach the end of this book you will be praying to the good lord above that Cord Taylor will show up on your doorstep faster than you can say purple sweatpants.

I LOVED his character. I loved how real he was, I loved that he had tenacity and determination out the yin yang, and I loved that he was a good man who would do whatever it took to convince the woman he was falling for that he was real, that this was real, and that going all the way was the best damn choice there was. Cord will make you swoon, he will make you laugh and smile, and through it all he will have you knowing that he is the real deal, with the absolute best personality, ready to sweep you off your feet with all he has. That man is everything. I could go on and on about how much I loved him, but I’ll wrap it up because you need to experience him for yourself.

Now Dana Rogers is a female character that I could relate to on so many levels. She is sarcastic, she has some serious fire to her, she’s smart and witty, and she is a girl who has always been drawn to the wrong kind of guy. Dana’s authenticity and memorable voice shined through from page one, and I loved how she wasn’t afraid to be real, how she wasn’t afraid to own where she was, and how she wasn’t afraid to admit to herself that she wanted more. I loved her bold honesty, I loved how this book made her question and wonder and truly think about what she felt and what she wanted, and I loved how this book pushed her to places she wasn’t prepared to go. It was in those places where I learned so much about her, and where I think she learned so much about herself.

She was not prepared for Cord. She was prepared for who she thought he was, but the more she gets to know him, the more she soon starts to realize she was in no way prepared for what he’d bring up with her. M. Mabie allowed me to connect so truly to her through every part of this book, and the more I got with her, the more I loved her realness, the more I felt her heart, and the more I wanted with all I had that that girl would embrace and allow herself to feel what was right in front of her.

This book is all about what happens when you meet the one person who changes everything, and the wild, full of feels and fiery ride that ensues as you feel it all, as you live it all, and as you try once and for all to go all the way.

Mabie completely hit it out of the park once again with this book. It is no secret that she is one of my all-time favorite authors. I love her books so much. I love her exceptional writing, and I love the unforgettable characters and stories she has given me over the years. All the Way was another shining example of the incredible and amazing talent this author has, and how she can truly make the words on a page come to life, right along with those unforgettable characters she continues to create. This book highlighted her talent with seamlessly weaving together heart melting romance, some good old fun and humor, and just enough angst to keep you going back for more. And more. And more. Because it’s just that damn good.

The way she creates a world you love being in, full of characters both main and supporting that give you so much to enjoy, will have you wishing this story would go on and on just to get more time with them all.

All the Way was a story that packed one helluva unforgettable punch. It was the perfect blend of everything. And then some. It had the characters, the story, the personality, the feels, and this honest to goodness good feeling that emanated from every single page in the most phenomenal way. I don’t think I can say enough how good it felt to read this book, or how much I loved it.

This book just felt right. It felt so good. And it gave me two characters that were real, easy to love and root for, and through it all M. Mabie’s exceptional writing consumed me within it all…and that is just a fraction of what made it one of my top reads of the year.

If there is one book you read this week, make it this one. If there is one book you take a chance on, make it this one. If there is one book you think about giving a try, make it this one. You won’t regret it. Not one little bit.

Cord and Dana will sweep you off your feet, have you loving every ounce of what you get with them, and will have you knowing without a doubt that when given a chance to go all the way, you bet for damn sure you go all the way.

hardlline coverPageflex Persona [document: PRS0000032_00030]

“It means that every waking breath you take, every step you take, you don’t just take to move your own life forward, but ours. You take it knowing I’m right there with you, irrevocably tied to every decision you make.”-Hardline

“You’re in my soul, Erica. I couldn’t hide from you if I tried. Just….” I knit my brows together. ‘What?’ ‘Just be careful while you’re in there, okay? You have more control than you think.” -Hard Limit

Both of these chapters for Blake and Erica were just fantastic. Each one pushed these characters more and more, and the results of that was nothing short of phenomenal. I felt so much reading these books, and the level of emotion they have is so varied and just breathtaking. These books are some of my all time favorites, and I for one cannot wait to see what comes next for the ever dynamic Blake Landon and Erica Hathaway.

BAITmagic size“If flying from one part of the world to another across time zones and datelines gave one jet-lag, what was it called when a persons heart traveled from one man to another man and then back in mere minutes? I’d love to know.”

Ah, Blake and Casey. I fucking love these two. So hard. Casey made me want to swoon. Constantly. Blake was so real, and even when I wanted to slap that girl silly, I loved her and I got her. Blake & Casey land, aka Bait, was one of my favorite places to be. It’s full of flaws and it’s messy as all get out, but it’s glorious and so full of love too, and I for one cannot get enough of Blake & Casey. Or Casey’s hair.

~The Hale Brother Series: Drops of Rain & Starless Nights by Kathryn Andrews~

22046210web“So quickly I went from feeling like I was drowning in the water to drowning in him. No guy has ever stirred these types of emotions in me or caused the sensations rippling through me. I never want to come up for air.” -Drops of Rain

“Beau, why do you like the stars so much? Because they remind me of you.” -Starless Nights

Drops of Rain and Starless Nights were such emotional and beautiful reads that I just loved. All the feels, all the emotion, and all the love. Drew Hale, Ali Rain, Beau Hale, and Leila Starling just molded themselves to my heart when I met their characters. You’ll love the intricate and just plain wonderful layers to these books, stories, and characters, and I guarantee there’s no way you won’t be loving the Hale brothers by the end of these books.

~Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan~

20639274“Sometimes an understanding silence was better than a bunch of meaningless words.”

This was my first book by Mia Sheridan and her writing just drew me in. Archer’s Voice is one of those books that just welcomes you in with welcomed arms, and you won’t ever want to leave those arms. This book is beautiful. It’s vulnerable. It’s breathtaking. It’s feeling. It’s emotion times ten. It’s love and heartache all in one. It’s so much. The beauty of this book will have you feeling everything, and there’s no possible way that Archer Hale won’t be your latest book boyfriend after this book.

20521460“I think when you meet the person you’re meant to be with, your heart just knows, even if it takes your brain a while to catch up. You can deny it and fight it all you want. But it’s no use. there is no living without that person.”

Holy mother effing love triangle. This is one of the best love triangles I’ve read because I really did not know who Lily, the main character would pick. Sure, I knew who I wanted her to pick, but you’ll be dying to figure out who she chooses. Elizabeth Hayley are two of my favorite writers and the way they combine hysterical humor, sarcasm, and authenticity with a crap ton of love and emotion just had me loving this conclusion to their Pieces Series. This book will have you loving Lily, Adam, and Max and their crazy selves over and over again.

“Our relationship is not simple or straightforward. It’s not perfect the way young couples dream about. It’s rough and flawed, but it’s ours. And sometimes, if you get really lucky, something truly beautiful can come from the imperfections.”-Stolen Course

“Fuck your fairytale. I just want you. I’ll make my own God damn happily ever after. But you’re the one who is mistaken. You’ll be at the end of that story, beautiful. You either come willingly or you force me into the dark after you. It doesn’t matter to me, because either way, I’ll find you.”-Among The Echoes

This series follows all of these unique and thoughtfully crafted characters as they try to make sense of it all, all while trying to figure out where they go from the painful night that changed everything. 22859182“Jake smiled, as if he enjoyed my temper tantrum. “Patience is a virtue.”
“Yeah, well, so is virginity, but I don’t have that anymore, either.”

This book has everything going for it. It’s got an alpha male, a sassy female, and more humor than you can shake a stick at. The main characters are absolutely wonderful in every way, the family that makes up the supporting characters will have you feeling the love, humor, and the southern awesomeness, and the story itself will hook you in from the first word to the very last. It’s magnificently balanced with the love story and suspense, and you’ll want to fight for Emily and Jake and what they have together throughout the entirety of the book.

~The Dearest Series: Dearest Clementine & Finding Dandelion by lex Martin~

Amazon     B&N

2235149820630331“Where I’m uptight and anxious, he’s cool and collected. Where I often feel lost and aimless, he’s focused and driven. He’s the shore to my tumultuous waters.”-Dearest Clementine

“We stay together.’ He holds my face with both of his hands. ‘Because you’re what makes me want everything else.”-Finding Dandelion

The Dearest Series is one of my favorites because it has witty characters, plenty of humor, and just so much feeling within its pages. These books are true new adult books, and I connected so much with these characters as I read them. They were beyond believable to me, and I loved that. Lex Martin does a fabulous job of creating so many engaging and dynamic characters that will make you swoon, laugh, and smile all while bringing a certain blush to your face. Both books do a fantastic job of balancing the light and heavy, the funny and serious, as well as creating stories where you just can’t help but root for the main characters.

~Bright Side by Kim Holden~

22669832“Today, my life is awesome.
I don’t want to think about tomorrow.
Or the day after that.
So I repeat to myself: Today, my life is awesome.

Bright Side by Kim Holden is a book that changes you. I can’t say enough good things about this book and the utterly emotional story encapsulated within its pages. This book made me feel the gamut of emotions. It made me think and feel and experience with everything it had. This was a full bodied reading experience that was nothing short of phenomenal. Bright Side made me cry like a mother effing baby too, but with tears pouring down my face I devoured this book and was just enveloped by its amazingness. Reading Bright Side is like reading literal magic, and I honestly don’t have the right amount of words to describe how wonderful that is.

Fade In Book Cover.... Be sure to check this book out asap!

“Baby, just be honest. Please, just say you feel this. Feel it for real, not just fro some fling. Not just to scratch an itch. I want you so badly that I’m losing my mind, baby. But I won’t stop after you say go. Tatum, give us this.”

Oh Benny and Tatum, how I love thee. In my opinion Benny and Tatum are the bees motherfucking knees. Fade In is a book full of humor and plenty of fun times, and it is so heartwarming that you will just be feeling all the love and emotion. Ben practically had me on the floor from swooning so much during this book, and Tatum and her spitfire self had my cheeks hurting from smiling so much at the things she said. Fade In is bursting with laughs and humor, but it’s also bursting with so much love and emotion and vulnerability that’s just going to make your heart happy. Bottom line: I love me some Benny & Tatum!

~The Rocker Who Wants Me by Terri Anne Browning~

Amazon   B&N

18171067“There is no one-not one fucking person-that makes me feel what you do….Remember that, Dallas. Always remember that.”

Boy do I love me a rocker book, and no other series delivers like The Rocker Series by Terri Anne Browning. I have loved every book and every single rocker I’ve met in this series, but I think it’s safe to say that Axton Cage is my favorite. Dallas and Axton are still two of the most stubborn characters I have ever read, but I absolutely loved that about them. Their stubbornness just adds to their passion and it made me love them more. Dallas and Axton are getting a third chance in this book, and their story is one you wont soon forget. These two have such an undeniable chemistry together that you won’t soon forget. Not to be outdone, all the fantastic supporting characters just round this book out, and they’ll have you feeling all the rocker love.

~On My Knees by Meredith Wild~

Amazon   B&N    KOBO

OMK_500x8001“It had never been so blatantly clear that deep down she needed me as fiercely as I needed her. Knowing that she did bound me to her in a way that I’d never felt before, ever. I was going to put her back together. I’d unbreak everything I’d broken and bring her back to me if it was the last thing I did.”

On My Knees follows Maya and Cameron and their scorching off the page chemistry, as they try to figure out what is what between them as they get a second chance at being together. They are drawn to one another for a lot of reasons. This story follows them as they try to find, build, and cross the bridge from where they were to where they actually want to be. Their journey is wholly theirs, and makes for an extremely engaging story that will have you in tears one moment, breathless from the visceral moments so eloquently written in the next, smiling like a fool in others, fanning yourself from the connection you feel between them, and in the end you will just feel balanced from how it all comes together.

~Crashed by K. Bromberg~

Amazon   B&N    KOBO

17880714“I accept you, I tell him. All of you. The broken parts. The bent parts. The ones filled with shame. The cracks where hope seeps through. The little boy cowering in fear and the grown man still suffocating in his shadow. The demons that haunt. Your will to survive. And your spirit that fights. Every single part of you is what I love. What I accept. What I want to help heal.”

Crashed is the fantastic conclusion to The Driven Trilogy by K. Bromberg. I’ll be the first to admit I was late person to the whole Colton Donovan party, but boy when I got there did I want to stay forever. Crashed was everything I wanted and more in a conclusion. K. Bromberg knows how to go out with a bang, how to hit it out of the damn park, and how to write the endings of all endings. There was so much that happened in Crashed, but I loved how much the events of Crashed pushed Rylee and especially Colton. This series, but especially this book pushed them to exactly where they needed to be, even if they both didn’t know it at the time. This book is just more and it was so worth the lack of sleep to devour.

~The Belonging Duet: Beloved & Beholden by Corinne Michaels~

Amazon   B&N    KOBO

BelovedeBookBelDuetBeholdenebookAmazon1“I told you I’ll always find you, but you have to want to be found. Let me find you, Catherine.”-Beloved

“Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. That may seem like a stupid thing to say, but you should remember it. If your life isn’t what you wanted-you can change it. You have the power to make a change. Live the life you want to live. If someone doesn’t treat you well…cut them loose. If you want something bad enough…go after it. There’s nothing in this world that comes easy. Take your life by the horns and don’t let go.”-Beholden

Beloved and Beholden were two beautiful and emotional reads that tell the story of Catherine and Jackson. Catherine has spent her entire life feeling like she isn’t enough. Jackson Cole was a male character that you will just adore. Reading how things unfold between them was humorous at times, hugely emotional at others, and just made for a truly phenomenal read with both these books. These books and characters pulled at my heart, and with each minute I spent with them, I was more in love with their story. Catherine and Jackson just felt so real to me when reading, and you’re going to feel every ounce of every emotion and feeling these two share. You will feel every ounce of happiness, and pain, and doubt, and questioning, and joy, and elation.

~Black Lies by Alessandra Torre~

22471294“True love makes a person reckless, makes them take risks and make sacrifices. True love tests the boundaries of our person, makes us yearn to be better and fight for the ground we stand on. I will fight for this love. Lie for it. Steal for it. It’s worthy of that.”
This book blew my mother effing mind. I don’t think I have ever read a book like Black Lies, and honestly, I don’t know if I’ll ever read another book that will make me think as much as this book did. The book description is right on for this story. You think you’ve read a story like this before, but you are oh so totally wrong. Layana, Brant, and Lee will blow you away. There are many lies building their way through this book. You’ll read this book, and be so engaged in it, that by the time you figure out what’s going on, you will just be blown away. This is the redefinition of a love story. It changes everything you think you know about love stories.

What this is between us, it’s good, Olivia, and I don’t want it with anyone else. You own me Olivia. Don’t you see that?” -Rescue Breathing

“Listen carefully to me. I love you. I need you, and there will never be anyone else. I’ve found what I didn’t know I was even looking for in you. When I’ve found my other half, why would I need to continue looking? I want you and only you-forever and always. I may be the guy who’s  out there saving people every day from burning buildings, but you save my life every single day. You give me life. You give me confidence and strength I didn’t know I had. And more importantly than all of that, you give me your love, which I know, without hesitation, I would die without. “-Life Support

Rescue Breathing and its phenomenal follow up Life Support have a hot as all get out fireman who’s got charm out the yin yang. They also have a female main character that is one of the realest and most authentic characters I’ve ever read. And you’re going to love her the moment that you meet her lovable butt. Owen & Olivia are just plain awesome. These two meet after a chance encounter and what ensues after is hot and real and so flipping good to read. Both these characters feel with everything they’ve got and they were so real to me with everything they felt and did. These two will engage you with their fiery magic from the moment you meet them, and you will be very sad to let them go, but that in no way lessens the fact that they will blow you away with everything they’ve got.

~Locke by Harper Sloan~

locke“In all the years I’ve known her and dreamt about having her in my arms, there is nothing that could ever have prepared me for the sense of peace that settles my soul by having her here.”

I knew that Maddox Locke was going to be my favorite P.O.V. from The Corps Security Series by Harper Sloan, the first moment I met him in Axel. I am not lying one bit when I say that. I knew then that that complicated and dark man was going to blow my mother effing mind away, and let me tell you:Maddox Locke doesn’t let you down one bit.Maddox Locke’s story is one filled with so many things, but after finally stepping into his dynamic head, I’ve realized that Maddox Locke is what male characters should be made of. He’s fierce, he’s intense, and his story is one filled with so much varied emotion that I couldn’t love him more if I tried. And don’t even get me started on how much I absolutely LOVE Emersyn, the lucky little sassy lady who enraptures Maddox Locke from the moment they first meet. This was the perfect conclusion to this series, and I for one was sold from the first word.

Conflagration_Mock2bYou came into my life at a time when I’d all but given up on love. What I didn’t know was that every painful moment, every broken heart, every disappointment was leading me to you.”

The first time I met Branson Wellington in Incinerate, I wanted to punch him in the face. Hard. By the end of Conflagration I still kind of wanted to punch him in the face, but then I wanted to hug his stubborn butt so hard. Branson Wellington will prove you wrong in this book. And Ari, the main girl of the hour? Be prepared to love her so hard you won’t be jealous one bit about the fact that she’s the one Branson Wellington chooses to finally risk it all for. I don’t have the right amount of words for what Ari and Branson have and how beautiful and powerful that is, but I will say that what they have together is built on many things, but at its core it’s built on the idea that love has the power to change you if you let it. Conflagration is about one Branson Wellington not giving up. It’s also about one Ariana Covington believing those same words, and practicing what she preaches. Give this wonderfully flawed man and his fierce lady a chance, and you’ll be oh so happy you did. Their love will revive your faith in the power of love.

~Consequences of Deception by Ella Fox~

Amazon   B&N     KOBO

21485701“This man can bring my body to life with pain and pleasure, but when he loves he loves big, and hat is my favorite thing about him.”

This was the first book I ever read by Ella Fox, and I think it’s always going to be my favorite. I love me some Killian and Sloane something fierce. They are complicated and dynamic and messy and so damn fierce. Sloane and Killian have a past history together. Four and half years ago, they were on the fast track to starting up something fierce when a tragic and horrible event brought that all to a screeching halt. Consequences of Deception is the story of what happens when Sloane and Killian are thrust back into each others lives for reasons you don’t fully find out until much further into the story. Its got drama, some very raw and emotional moments, plenty of times that will make you want to hit someone, or cry, or laugh, or smile like a fool, and of course its got just enough romance to make you want to melt into a puddle asap.

That pivotal point when you know the man you’re giving you’re body to just took a little of your heart. Lust my ass, my heart sings.”-Incandescent

“So I’m going to do just that. I will sit in the darkness waiting, waiting for her to come and guide me back out. And while I wait, hoping the light comes soon, I will thank God I’m not afraid of the dark.” -Affliction

Incandescent and Affliction were my first real MC reads, and they just hit it out of the damn park for me. These books were hot with a capital H, and they had characters that just didn’t quit. Incandescent is Nix and Kaydence’s story, and he’s one dirty talking alpha male and she’s a sassy little school teacher. Boy did those two just work. Their book was just so fucking fun to read, and even in all those light and sassy moments there was so much passion and feeling with them. Holly and Sy took me on a seriously emotional journey in Affliction. I wasn’t prepared for how much I would feel for these two or the pasts that they had, but I embraced everything they made me feel because it was nothing short of exceptional. I felt for those two so fucking much. These books are heavy on the emotion, heavy on the heat, and seriously heavy on the love and feeling. River Savage’s fantastic writing along with the dirty talking alphas and sassy spitfire women just keep winning me over again and again.

~Redeeming Justice by Suzanne Halliday~

RedeemingJustice 72dpi_eBook“You haven’t taken anything. I’m giving it to you. All of it. All of me. Whatever you need, I’m yours.”

So we all know by this point that I love me a dark horse. I LOVE reading male characters with pasts they must overcome in order to be with the women they love. That’s one of my favorite kinds of stories and male characters to read, and Alex Marquez and Redeeming Justice deliver on that tenfold. There’s just something that gets me about attempting to overcome all that darkness. It also helps when there’s a sassy female character in tow, and Meghan O’Brien certainly fits that bill. Redeeming Justice is a book about a lot of things. It’s about redemption for things in the past. It’s about healing from past hurt. It’s about finding the light, and it’s about finding the love that makes all the pain worthwhile. This book was out of this world remarkable, and made for a truly great reading experience you won’t want to miss. The characters are great, the story is magnificent and well paced, and in the end, you’ll be so happy you had a chance to experience it!

~Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover~

17788401“Love isn’t always pretty. Sometimes you spend all your time hoping it’ll eventually be something different. Something better. Then, before you know it, you’re back to square one, and you lost your heart somewhere along the way.”

You know I couldn’t end my top reads list without a bang, right?! Ugly Love was the book that introduced me to Colleen Hoover. I loved this book so vehemently that I didn’t even care that it made me break down in tears in the middle of Disney World. In fact, I think that’s part of the reason I loved it so much. Ugly Love introduced me to the seriously wonderful thing that is Colleen Hoover’s books, but it also gave me Tate and Miles.  I felt so much reading Ugly Love, and I connected with these characters and all they went through in such an extraordinary way. It’s an unconventional love story that at certain times hurt my heart, but at others made my heart whole with all the love. Miles and Tate just had a story so full of emotion and pain and hurt, but also full of so much love. The best kind of love and ugly love. This book will always be one of my all time favorites because it introduced me to one of my favorite authors. It’ll also remain one of my favorites because it really is a book about overcoming and accepting it all, even the bad parts, and that just blew me away, and it still does.

My Review

 *****5 Beyond Amazing Stars*****

Meredith Wild continues to blow me away more and more with each book she writes. The Hacker Series has firmly cemented itself as one of my favorite series, and it’s because of the level of emotion, feeling, and authenticity Meredith Wild creates and conveys through all of her thoughtfully crafted words.

There were points in this book that made my heart melt, others that almost shattered it. There were moments that literally took my breath away, while some stopped my heart then got my pulse racing again in the same instant, and plenty that brought a certain pink hue to my face.

I felt it all. I experienced it all. I loved it all immensely.

Hard Limit (Hacker Series #4) is the next chapter in Blake and Erica’s love story together, and it is extraordinary, to say the least. This chapter between them just felt so right, and I can’t stress enough how much I loved reading it. This chapter and next step in their relationship felt extremely natural, and just made sense for them as a couple. Hard Limit is their next step in fighting for the ending they both want and so truly deserve.

I couldn’t get enough of it, and it left me with one helluva book hangover because I was that emotionally invested within the story and its unforgettably dynamic characters.

One of the things I’ve loved most about this series is that Blake and Erica continue to evolve and grow as characters, yet the aspects that make them unique and in essence them, still shine through.

Erica is steadfast and determined as all get out. She is also one fierce little lady who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it. Hard Limit gives Erica the opportunity to examine many aspects of her life both professionally and personally, and boy does she. This book brings about a lot of change for her specifically, and reading how she faced that change head on with her head held high, just made me love that girl more fiercely than I already did.

Blake. Oh Blake Landon, how I love thee. Blake is one of my all-time favorite male characters. He is stubborn and he is controlling and he is powerful, along with numerous other adjectives. He is so many dynamic things wrapped into one glorious male character. Hard Limit gives you an exceptional opportunity to learn more about the dynamic Blake Landon, and while discovering more about his past you’ll just come to love and understand his character more. You’ll get him, you’ll understand him and his motives, and you’ll just love that.

This book finds Blake and Erica working once again towards that happy that they both so rightfully warrant. After the events of Hardline, as well as the other books in this series, there was an ease between Blake and Erica in Hard Limit that just exemplified how much their relationship had evolved since it began. I cannot tell you enough how outstandingly Meredith Wild captures that evolution and change. It makes you see where these two were, and where they are now together. It also makes you hyperaware of just how powerful and passionate their relationship is.

Reading Hard Limit will just affirm how outstanding reading Blake and Erica’s relationship truly is. It’s passionate and fiery. Their connection continues to leap off the page with nothing short of fireworks. Meredith Wild also makes these two so real and authentic to read that you’ll find yourself easily connecting with them both. You’ll feel that connection, you’ll embrace it, and you’ll love how it emotionally invests you within this story and these characters.

It’ll also just reaffirm once again why what Blake and Erica have is worth fighting for; why it’s worth risking everything for. You’ll experience that fight, you’ll feel it in your heart, and I promise you’ll want to fight for it right along with them because that’s how worth it, it is.

One of the aspects I loved most about Hard Limit was that while Erica and Blake have evolved so much individually and as a couple, they both continue to push each other. Whether they’re pushing in the boardroom, the bedroom, or anywhere else in between, they are both continually pushing each other in the most extraordinary ways. They push each other to be better, to trust, to feel, to love, to heal, to make the right choices, to understand, to accept, to do it all. They push each other to the limits, but those limits are where the magic happens in this book, and it’s one of the many aspects that makes Hard Limit so magnificent.

I could go on and on about the level of feeling and varied emotion that characterizes Hard Limit. I’ve touched on this already, but this book really does make you feel it all, and that is nothing short of exceptional. You feel the fight these characters have. You feel and are enveloped fully within the passion and love they share. You feel those moments of heartbreak and pain and vulnerability as if you’re the character in the book experiencing it. All of those varied emotional moments just enhance what you’re reading to a whole new level to where you’ll just be blown away by the phenomenal and unforgettable reading experience you’re having.

Hard Limit continues to exemplify all that makes a Hacker Series book the best with its wonderful supporting characters, its highly charged emotional moments, its intricate and detailed layers that weave themselves beautifully into the story, and its storyline that will keep you hooked in until the very last word. I am telling you this now: you will not be able to put this book down.

All of the magnificent supporting characters are all back, and their little unique selves make this book all the more enjoyable. Each of their distinct little selves adds to the puzzle that is this series, and you’ll be glad to spend a little more time with them. Alli, Heath, Sid, Fiona, Simone, James, and many more that you’ll have to read this book to discover, will just make you love this book even more. Even Daniel. Especially Daniel.

There are also plenty of moments in Hard Limit that will shock you. And I mean shock you, take your breath away, and make you drop your kindle kind of moments. Those moments are phenomenal and breathtaking and highly emotional, and while extremely shocking, they make reading this book all the more enthralling and extraordinary because you truly don’t know what’s going to happen next.

Like I said, Meredith Wild continues to blow me away with her brilliant writing, her extremely engaging and well developed characters, and her storylines that just don’t quit with their amazingness.

This series is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good love story with plenty of love, passion, emotion and more fight than you can shake a stick at. This series is why I love reading so much. It truly has everything in it that makes a book a 5 star read for me. Hell, I wish I could give this book so many more stars than that because that’s what it deserves.

Hard Limit repeatedly exemplifies how truly remarkable and amazing this series, its characters, and Meredith Wild’s writing are.
