The Season to Get Even by Morgan Elizabeth is actual perfection and if I could spend the rest of my days with Connor Finch and Meadow Hanover, I would. Because that is how much I absolutely LOVED every second and word and moment of their story. This book was everything. This book just reminded me in spades why Morgan Elizabeth is one of my all-time favorite authors. It was swoony, it was full of heart, it was spicy as hell, and it had so much charm and life and joy and vibrancy that I truly could not get enough of. But more than that, it had an impeccable love story that stole my whole heart with this couple and everything that they gave me.
Simply put, this is not only one of my favorite books by Morgan Elizabeth, but it is one of my favorite books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading this year.
From the actual first page of this book, I knew it would be one of my favorite books. I’ve read this year. There’s just so much vibrancy and personality and just incredible!3// that Morgan Elizabeth includes in every book she writes, and this one was no different. It started on the very first page of this book and it didn’t quit through any page that came after. In fact, I’m literally sitting here writing this review kind of sad because I’m really sad that I finished reading the book already because it was everything. This story, this couple, their undeniable level of connection, how down bad they both were for one another and how they showed up for each other was truly PERFECTION. My heart is completely owned by everything that I got with Connor and Meadow and I honestly cannot say it enough.
There is truly something special about those two. I mean, you have the girl who always puts others first, who just wants someone to see her and celebrate her and take care of her for once like she does for everyone else around her. And then you pair her up with a man who has always had feelings for her, the man who is/was best friends with her ex-boyfriend, and the man who wants to give her every single good thing and take care of her and show her that he sees her, that he cares for her, and that he would do literally anything for her.
So basically this story is a match made in heaven.
Because you have a woman who is fierce and incredible and a man who wants to show her in every second they’re together that she is fierce and incredible, and that he is lucky to be in her life. He is down bad from the get go and is bound and determined to show her that she is everything to him and that what might have started off as revenge, and something a little fake, is very, very real with the depth of what he feels. Couple that with the fact that she soon realizes that she feels exactly the same, and that her feelings towards the one man she never expected to have are so very real, and you have the makings of the most epic and incredible romance that you will ever read.
Connor and Meadow were two absolutely incredible characters who I loved with my whole heart from the start.
He is a good guy with a heart of gold who is a literal green flag. I mean, there are green flags galore in this book with that man and the way that he shows up for meadow, the way he stands up for himself and his morals, what he cares about, and the way that he is just this solid good guy through it all is everything. He has a heart of gold that he wears on his sleeve, and that he isn’t afraid to show Meadow every piece of. I loved his trust, his genuine goodness, and the vulnerability that he was never afraid to show her. That coupled with his fierce determination and his protective streak and his very good dirty mouth… And I was smitten with this man.
Then you have Meadow who is the most easy to love and relatable girl I have read in quite some time. I mean, I am Meadow in so many ways and I feel like her character is so easy to relate to because she is always putting others first. She’s always putting her feelings aside or making things easy because she doesn’t want to rock the boat or make things too crazy, but then Connor comes along and helps her know, along with her own fierce determination, that it’s okay to take up space and that it’s okay to rock the boat every once in a while, especially when it means standing up for yourself and your heart. Meadow has her own heart of gold and she is fierce, she is smart, and she is beyond caring. The way that she feels with her whole heart and is there for everyone around her is beautiful and I just loved that girl. I rooted for her, I celebrated with her, and I loved that this book allowed her to find the strength that was always within her and the happily ever after she always deserved. That girl is a true gem, and you will love her through every breath of this book and moment you get with her.
The Season to Get Even is truly Morgan Elizabeth at her best. I mean reading this book and this impeccable love story felt like coming home for me. Tis The Season For Revenge was the first book I read by Morgan Elizabeth, and it’s what made me fall in love with her words and her incredible dynamic characters, and every single revenge plotline she could come up with. And this book brought it all home in the best way. It felt so full circle, it felt so endearing and sweet and charming, but most of all it just felt like the best kind of love story to experience from start to finish.
This book had revenge, it had funny, antics and crazy moments, it had some seriously good spice, but at its heart, it has two people who are perfect for each other, and who were always meant to find their way to one another. Getting to experience the heart of that, the depth of those feelings between Connor and Meadow, and getting to watch them fight for each other in every way that matters was truly more than I could’ve asked for while reading this book. It made the reading experience with these two and their love story so unforgettable, so incredible, and just the absolute best.
I mean, my cheeks are literally hurting right now because I’m smiling so hard thinking about everything I loved about this couple.
I loved the way they loved one another. I loved the way they showed up and showed out for one another. I loved the way that they just completely understood and got each other. I loved the way they took care of one another and protected each other and stood up for one another. I loved the way that they just cared and showed that love and connection. I loved that these two equally lit each other on fire, but also made each other feel every breath of emotion, unlike any other person had made them feel before. I loved that the moment these two were together I knew they had to find their way to that happily ever after because they were perfect for one another. I loved that I got to be back with some of my favorite characters while also being back in the world that feels like home. I loved that this author put me in the heart of this story, living and breathing, and loving every breath of what she created for Connor and Meadow.
But most of all I just loved Connor and Meadow.
I loved their love story. I loved them. I loved their hearts and their charm and their connection. I loved how they put it all the line when it really mattered. I loved that they stayed true to themselves into one another. I loved that they brought out the best in one another and showed each other that sometimes the unexpected brings you to exactly where you need to be. I just loved them and their love and every bit of what I got to experience with them in this book. I loved and treasured every second. I got with this couple because their love story is epic and so is every bit of what they feel and share together.
I loved it all so damn much.
This book is the perfect romance. It’s got holiday vibes, it’s got fun and crazy antics, it’s got moments that make you laugh, it’s got so many moments that make you swoon, and it just makes you believe in the love that Connor and Meadow are building together. Getting to experience the beauty and the heart of that, getting to feel the depth of all of that emotion and connection, and getting to see these two build that love brick by brick and piece by piece in the way that they show up for each other, in the way that they are together, and in every big and little moment they share is absolutely EVERYTHING.
I truly can’t say that enough.
I loved this book with my whole heart. I loved every big and little moment I got with Connor and Meadow. I loved how serendipitous it felt that they found each other. I loved all of their revenge antics and the visit back with The Revengers. I loved getting to watch these two fall for each other in a way that felt as easy as taking their next breath. In a way that felt beyond right and beyond meant to be. I loved the vibes of this story and this world of characters that truly owns a very special place in my heart. I just loved every second and word and moment in this book with Connor and Meadow and every other dynamic and memorable character this story and world gives you.
Morgan Elizabeth just pours such vibrancy and heart and charm and romance into this book that you will just be obsessed with it. I mean, I’m literally sitting here obsessing over the story just wanting to reread it because that’s how much I loved it. I loved every unforgettable and amazing word of this book and I honestly just wish I could erase it from my memory, so that I could reread it again for the first time and experience all of these feelings all over again because that is how much I absolutely LOVED this book and everything that I got with Connor and Meadow.
Those two are perfection. Those two are meant to be. Those two are soulmates who complete each other and get each each other and see each other in every way that matters. But more than that those two love each other with their whole hearts and getting to see them realize that, getting to see them give into that and share every morsel of that, and getting to see them finally relish in all of that feeling and connection and love between them was truly the reading experience that I desperately needed and loved every breath of.
Morgan Elizabeth pours it all out in this book and you will love it. The revenge is there, the charm and vibrancy and personality is their in spades, the connection and love and spice is definitely there too, and so are these characters in their most true real vulnerable state. And you will love getting to watch them fall for one another as something fake and something built on revenge soon becomes so very, very real for them. And that realness, that reality? It’s better than anything they could’ve ever imagined because what they experienced together will change their lives and their hearts forever and you will love getting to experience it with them.

The Season to Get Even is definitely one of my favorite books I’ve read this year and is for sure one of my favorites from this author. Boy do those Finch men know how to get their girls and I’m pretty sure they got my heart right along with Meadow and Shae’s, and I honestly would not have had it any other way. This love story not only gave me all of the feels and fire and swoon, but it just reminded me again and again why this author and this series are some of my all-time favorites. This book and this romance truly gave me at all, and I gobbled up every single second of it because it was perfection. It truly was, and I’m pretty sure a piece of my heart will be forever owned by Meadow and Connor, because those two are truly something special. And their story is romantic, unforgettable, and utterly consuming in a way that I know I will never forget.
Though truthfully, like I said before, there’s a part of me that wishes I could erase it from my memory just so I could experience the literal magic and perfection that is this love story and Connor & Meadow for the first time again. Partial amnesia would be worth it for these two because they’re epic and unforgettable and just beautiful love story is one that I know I will not soon forget and one I wish I could experience reading for the first time again and again. What these two gave me in their incredible story made my romance loving heart beyond happy and I truly couldn’t have asked for more.
Connor and Meadow have the sweetest, swooniest, and downright spiciest love story that shows you page after page that they are not only perfect for each other, but that everything in their lives had to fall apart just a bit in order for these two to fall together.
And that fall…It’s epic and wonderful and beautiful and absolutely everything.
Everything and more.
Morgan Elizabeth delivers it all in the best most distinctive and incredible way through every page and second and moment of this book with Connor and Meadow, and it’s everything to experience. So just trust me when I say you need this book and this love story and this couple in your life this very second. You will love everything you get with them and then some, but most of all you’ll just be blown away by the epic and beautiful and beyond sweet and heart touching love story they so authentically give you through every page of this book.
And in the end your heart will be stolen by those swoony, hearts on their sleeves, do it all for their girls, Finch men just like mine was. And the cherry on top will be every real, genuine, and honest to goodness goodness and vibrant heart filled moment you get with Meadow. And those crazy shenanigan having Revengers? They just seal the whole damn deal.
And you’re gonna love it.
