I knew I was going to love Never Been Tamed by Corinne Michaels before I even read it. I also knew I was going to love Never Been Tamed when a minor car accident and a punchcard entered the chat in chapter 1. I definitely knew I was going to love Never Been Tamed when two certain somebodies with a WORLD of connection and pull to one another thought they could just pretend to be together and that would be it between them. I also 100% knew I was going to love Never Been Tamed the second the glorious banter and the chaps entered the group chat. I knew I was going to love Never Been Tamed with every memorable word, every single incredible moment, and every bit of heart and yearning and fire brought to life with Ares and Harper.

I knew I was absolutely going to LOVE Never Been Tamed by Corinne Michaels through every single word of this book, and boy was I right about that because this is hands-down one of my favorite books. I have read this year and one of my favorite books by this author.

Just when I think Corinne Michaels can’t top her latest romance release, she goes and does just that. Because when I tell you, my heart was in it with Ares and Harper, when I tell you, I lived and loved and breathed every breath of this book, and when I tell you that I was utterly consumed in the most real way with this couple and their story, I mean it with my whole heart and my whole chest. I was in this book. I was in it to win it with Ares and Harper as they pretended that their fake relationship wasn’t the most real thing they’ve ever experienced. I was in it with them as they saw every vulnerable real and genuine piece of one another. I was in it with them as their crazy families and their friends and their small town drove them up a wall while simultaneously pushing them closer together. I was in it with them as they poured their hearts out to one another and put it all on the line when it really mattered. I was in it with them through every moment of laughter and love and fire and heartbreak and everything in between.

I was in it with these characters through Corinne Michaels utterly incredible writing that gave me a perfect love story from start to finish. Never Been Tamed was the most amazing addition to this series that has just cemented once again not only why Corinne Michaels is one of my all-time favorite authors, but also why The Heartstone Ranch Series is one of my FAVORITES! This world of characters owns my whole heart, and the way that Harper and Ares took pushed their way into it all in the most memorable and endearing way was truly everything.

And then some.

This book brings us back to the incredible small town that is Infinity Ridge, Colorado with two people who could not be more meant to be or more meant to drive each other crazy. You have Ares, an older, city boy doctor who is in town reeling from many things that have gone wrong. He’s grumpy, he’s definitely not thrilled with where his career is, and he doesn’t know what comes next. To put it lightly, he’s lost and in no way looking for something to tie him to the small town he’s now found himself in. Enter the one and only Harper Stone. She’s the town‘s golden girl, the perpetual good hearted country girl who always puts herself last, but is feeling the true weight of it all on her heart and shoulders. She’s a grump in her own right, but she’s also equal parts spark and vivaciousness, and boy is she ready to light the world on fire…Only she doesn’t know what that exactly looks like or how to let herself have it.

These two definitely know how to push each other’s buttons in the best way and boy do they have the most incredible level of connection and pull to one another. When a chance encounter and a series of unfortunate events leads to something momentarily fake that becomes more permanently fake that soon becomes oh so real, you have the true foundation and heart of this story between these two. He needs help showing the town that they can trust him, and she needs him to be her back up at her ex‘s wedding. They both need each other, they both feel everything for one another, and they both absolutely cannot deny the real feelings that shine between them… And honestly, that’s just scratching the surface of what you get in Never Been Tamed by Corinne Michaels.

When I tell you, I loved every second I got with Ares and Harper in this book, I mean it with my whole chest. Those two stole my heart from the very first moment I met them. Honestly, I loved them before that because I already loved Harper from the first book in this world, and I just loved her more in this book with what I got with her in the story. That coupled with Ares and his no nonsense self had me living for every breath of this story. The small town antics, the serious fire and flirtatiousness and connection bursting between these two, along with the moments of heart and swoon and true emotional vulnerability had me LOVING every single second with these two. I truly could have read hundreds and hundreds of more pages with them because that is how much I loved reading and experiencing their story with them.

Corinne Michaels put you in the heart of this world, the small town, and this couple who becomes so very real together. Her words not only allow you to feel so emotionally connected to both of these characters in their journeys, but she just wholeheartedly invest you in their love story. She shows you why they have to be together, she shows you why they need each other, she shows you how deep their desires and connection truly go, and she shows you that there is no ending that doesn’t involve the two of them together because they just have to find a way to be together. That is how meant to be they are, that is how emotionally invested you are in their story, and that is just how much you love these characters and what they give you.

I have felt that in every book I’ve had the pleasure of reading from this author, but this series delivers that in spades through her incredible writing, and I truly cannot say enough how utterly incredible and amazing that has been to experience as a reader. It’s books like this one that make me the proud romance reader I am because this was a hell of a love story. It was emotion, it was vulnerability, it was heart, it was charm and swoon and fire, but more than that it was two people feeling everything for one another, and becoming the most true, real versions of themselves when they were with each other. It was two people putting their hearts on the line when it really mattered, and realizing that there was someone they could count on, and someone that they could be their most honest vulnerable self with. It was two people showing up for each other, even in the hardest of moments, to reassure one another that they were in it, that they felt it all, and that there was nothing that could undo the ties and feelings that bound them together.

Never Been Tamed is Ares & Harper’s story of fake dating, turned very real dating, turned so much more than these two ever could’ve bargained for. These two grumps are definitely going to give each other a run for their money, and they couldn’t be happier about it because what they give each other, what they make each other feel, and what they bring out in one another is life-changing. But more than that, it’s an incredible, emotional, and beautiful love story that brings these two to places they never thought they could ever be, but find themselves in together at the exact right time in their lives where they’re truly meant to be…together.

Now Harper Stone is a girl after my own heart. I loved her with my whole heart, and I saw myself in her so much because she is the epitome of a girl who does everything for everyone else and puts herself last in every opportunity. She’s the girl with a heart of gold who gives everyone her all. She’s also a girl who feels like no one ever chooses her and that she’s never enough. I think that’s something that is so easy to resonate and connect with with her character and the way that this author just pulls your heart to hers as she lives and goes through and experiences this story is truly everything. I felt so emotionally invested and connected to her through every second of this book and I just rooted like hell for her. Because if there is one character who deserved a happily ever after, it was Harper Stone. That girl is fire, she is heart, and she is just pure goodness and I loved getting to see her not only find her own strength and her own tenacity and her own worth, but also getting to see the exact right person see and celebrate that too.

Harper Stone is a forced to be reckoned with and getting to be caught up in her storm throughout this book was an absolute pleasure that just had me loving every second with her. It was also all kinds of fun to see the effect and impact she had on the one and only Dr. Ares Pierce. That grumpy man was brought to his knees…literally for her, and it was EVERYTHING.

Now Ares is his own force to be reckoned with because when I tell you that man has this illustrious pull that you cannot resist, I mean that with every fiber of my being. There is just something about him that pulls you in and you can’t resist it. He’s got a rough exterior and he is definitely stubborn and grumpy, but boy are there so many layers to him. What I loved about Ares is that he means what he says, he truly cares with his whole heart, and he is determined. He’s determined to get his life back on track, he’s determined to fix his career, he’s determined to write the wrongs that he’s done, he’s determined to put himself back together again, even if that takes him far from where he started. I really appreciated that determination and that tenacity from him because it was fierce, it was distinctive, and it was so very him in the most memorable way. But more than that, I just loved also getting to peel back the layers of Ares to see the vulnerability that was there from his own past and his own experiences and what brought him to this town and this story in the first place.

The way that this author just allows you to get that man full force in every memorable way will truly have your heart with his as he figures it all out and as he realizes what truly matters. And it is the best. Ares just has that incredible allure that pulls you in heart first while simultaneously making you blush your ass off and you will be here for every second of it. Trust me.

Ares Pierce and Harper Stone are fierce. They are vibrant. They are consuming. They are connection personified. They are their own forces to be reckoned with. Getting to experience that pull they share, getting to be in the thick of that desire they cannot deny, and getting to be in the heart of that beautiful and vulnerable emotion they share together as they give each other every piece of themselves, every insecurity, every fear, and every part of what truly matters between them, is the most spectacular thing to experience in this book.

The way that Ares and Harper choose each other in this book will truly give your heart everything it needs and more, just as it gives these two everything their hearts and souls needs. These two choose each other. When it’s “fake”, when it’s real, and everything and moment in between. They choose each other. They choose their feelings. They choose every version of each other and themselves. They choose each other’s present and future, even when they’re unsure what that’ll bring them. They choose the good and the bad and every little and big thing because they choose each other. In every opportunity and reality and hope, they choose each other and it makes all the difference.

It means EVERYTHING for these two.
Absolutely everything.

Corinne Michaels brings the heart of them and everything they share together to life in the most real and tangible and authentic way, and I could not get enough of it. I was utterly consumed with these characters, their love story, this small town, and every second in between as Ares Harper realized that their fake relationship was the most real thing they had ever experienced. Getting to be with these two as they understood what another, as they fell for one another, as they dealt with all of the small town, family, and friend antics, but most of all as they saw each other and showed up for each other was truly everything my heart could’ve asked for. This book delivered their epic love story in a way that I know I will never forget and it just had me LOVING and honestly treasuring every second with them.

Ares and Harper just get each other. They get each other’s insecurities and fears. They get what weighs on each other. They understand the struggle that they both have experienced previously and what they’re currently struggling with as their paths cross in this book. They understand and get every piece of one another. And more than that, they love and cherish those pieces. They get their dreams, they get the complications of it all, and they get why the other one is wholeheartedly worth every breath in their body and every chance they will take with one another. They just get each other in every way that matters and you feel that in your bones reading this book.

And honestly, that’s just part of what makes this such an amazing love story to read and experience, and one of the best books I have read this year.

Never Been Tamed combines the perfect amount of fire, connection, love, small town goodness, with a family and world of characters that my heart loves in every way and the best dose of banter and humor and swoon that you could ask for. Corinne Michaels delivers another must read romance in this book that gives you an epic love story from start to finish that will show you in every single second and word and moment with her characters that they have to find a way to be together because there’s no reality that can’t exist without the two of them sharing what they were always meant to share and feel. This book was another treasure filled moment and reading experience in the world of Infinity Ridge Colorado and Heartstone Ranch, and I for one I’m already counting down the moments until I can go back because that is how much I am fully invested and just utterly in love with this entire world of characters.

And let me just tell you now, while Ares and Harper are the complete star of the show in this book, it would be remiss of me to not mention the one and only Clyde Stone. That man is in a league of his own with his own heart of gold and a level of humor that you will never forget. And let me tell you, cue up Taylor Swift‘s mastermind every time you see that man on the pages of this book and every other second you get with him in this entire series, because that man is scheming. He is scheming in the best way, and I love him for it. He is truly a gem and I could read about a million more pages with him plotting all the things and epic love stories for his kids, and my heart would be happier for it.

If there’s one thing you take away from this review, besides the fact that Clyde Stone is one of a kind, it’s that you need to read Never Been Tamed by Corinne Michaels.

This book is her at her best and it was the most incredible love story to experience. Harper and Ares bring it all in this book and the way they lay their hearts on the line, the way they allow you to feel and experience it all with them, and the way they show up for you and for each other in this book is truly nothing short of everything. I could not have asked for a better trip back to this small town with this dynamic and memorable world of characters than what I got within the pages of this book. Corinne Michaels delivers another phenomenal romance in this book and she will have your heart in every breath of what you get with her characters.

And honestly, you’re just going to love it.

You’re going to love every second of this book so much. You’re going to love every moment with Ares and Harper so much. You’re going to love the chaps and the punchcard and the banter and the fire of it all. You’re going to love the sweetness and the swoon and the vulnerability. You’re going to love seeing these characters find more than enough in one another and you’re especially going to love the ways in which they show up for each other, the way they reassure one another, and the way they show each other that the only place they’ll ever want to be is with each other.

You are going to love every single second of this book and then some because that is how incredible it is. I really can’t say that enough, so just take this as your sign to go forth and live and love and experience this book. Never Been Tamed is a one of a kind romance that delivers it all and more, and your heart will be the happiest it can be with Harper and Ares and all they give you. I promise you that Ares and Harper are ready to welcome you with open arms and open hearts and they’re grumpy selves that could not be more meant to be, and you will honestly cherish every morsel of a moment you get with those two in this book.
