Let me tell you something, Kathryn Andrews impeccable writing meeting a charming holiday romance is exactly what I needed in my life. Because Dasher + Dancer was the sweetest holiday romance I could’ve asked for powerful of charm, vibrancy, and a couple I loved with my whole heart. And I truly could not have asked for more from this book. Kathryn Andrews brings her distinctive writing and heart to every breath of this book and I for one could not get enough. As I’m sitting here writing this review, all I can think about is how much I absolutely loved Harper and Dash and every bit of their story, and how much I truly cannot wait for the next moment I get to go back to Antler Bay because that is certainly a very special place to be.
Dasher + Dancer is a story of two very seemingly opposite people being forced together during the happiest time of year in a way that neither of them were prepared for. Because these two neighbors who definitely get off on the wrong foot, but also definitely have a world of connection and spark between them, turn each other‘s world upside down. And the way they show up for each other, the way they fall for each other, and the way they can’t help but feel everything for one another, even though the countdown is on for both of them, will have your heart in every breath of this book. I promise you that.
Couple that with the holiday cheer, all of the crazy small town shenanigans, and this incredible love story that you get to experience every breath of, and you’re just scratching the surface of what you can expect to fall absolutely in love with in this book
I just loved the heart of this book and the vibrancy of these characters. From the very first moment I met both Harper and Dash, I was in love with everything those two shared, I was in love with their seemingly opposite personalities that just meshed so well, and I was just in love with the connection that was so easy and authentic between them. These two may be so seemingly opposite, but they feel everything for one another and getting to be in the heart of that in this book through this author’s incredible writing was the absolute best. This couple finding their way will give you all of the hope, and sparkle and holiday cheer that you could have ever hoped and wished for, and that is just part of what you will absolutely love about this story that you get with these two.
The small town of Antler Bay Florida is a very special place to be because not only is it a small town full of crazy characters and a lot of heart and charm, it is also a community that loves Christmas, that cherish is the holiday season, and that shows up for its community in ways that changes the lives of those who are there. Harper and Dash experience that in every breath of this book and it’s the best to experience with a wonderful characters that make this small town the best place to be. Kathryn Andrews truly creates a small town that comes to life in this book and you get to feel like you’re right on the pages of this story living and breathing every breath of what these characters do, while feeling like you’re in all of the places they are in this very special small town. That is just one of the many things that pulls you heart first into this world of characters and you will love getting to experience every second of that.
Now Harper and Dash stole my heart from the very beginning. There was no resisting those two from their very memorable first meeting and the charm and the connection that the two of them had in spades. Sure, he was a little grumpy and she was dressed up like a reindeer, but it was the best and most distinctive first meeting for them that sets everything in motion for these two in a way that changes everything. That coupled with the undeniable level of spark and chemistry they share will have you just enamored with these two and their hearts.
He is a cinnamon roll who cares so much and will do anything for anyone, but especially the girl next-door who he is falling head over heels in love with. She is a dreamer trying to build a life and a dream that could be hers forever, while falling so hard for the boy next-door who’s quickly capturing every piece of her heart. These to me in a very memorable way and they are off to the races with everything they feel and share together. The only problem is Dash is only in town for six weeks and she doesn’t see anywhere but Antler Bay as home. She can’t leave, and he can’t stay. So what are they to do when faced with all of the feeling and connection they share and a clock that is quickly running out of time?
They fall. So hard for one another and all the possibilities ahead of them, even when it scares them out of their minds. They fall because there is no other choice for these two because when I say they are meant to be, they are meant to be.
Harper is a gem of a girl and my heart was with hers right from the get go in this book. I just loved her tenacity, I loved her heart, but most of all I loved the sparkle and sunshine she brought to every moment she was in. That girl has a dream and she is bound to determined to do whatever she can to see that dream come true and to get her life to the place she always hoped it could be. She wants roots and she wants those roots to be in Antler Bay. And with that, she wants to feel every bit of what she feels when she’s with Dash. She feels everything with her heart on her sleeve and shows up in every way that matters, and I just loved every second I got to spend with her character. That girl just has a heart of gold and it’s the best.
Dash Is the true definition of a cinnamon roll and a good guy. He may be a little grumpy on the outside, but boy does that man feel with his whole heart on the inside. And he feels everything for Harper. And he is willing to go above and beyond for her, for her dreams, and for a chance at what they could be together. He is a man who has a lot of tenacity, who works very hard, and who gives it his all, and the events of this book let that shine. It also lets his heart and his true feelings shine as he comes to fall in love with not only the small town of Antler Bay and the antics of all of the people within it, but the very special girl next-door who turns his entire world upside down. He is a good man with a good heart and you will feel that in every moment you get with him. Trust me.
Harper and Dash have the sweetest most incredible love story in this book and you will just love it. You will love getting to experience it. You will love the vibrancy and the charm they bring to every second they are together. You will love the big and little ways these two show up for one another. You will love getting to see them validate one another, their feelings, their dreams and everything that matters to them. You will love the easy and sweet moments between them and the real authenticity that shines in every second they are together with their feelings. You will love how they see each other, how they get each other, and how they show up for each other in every way that matters. You will just love the two of them, their hearts, and how they give everything to one another in the most genuine, sweet and heart feeling way. It truly makes for an incredible romance from start to finish and I for one cannot say enough how much I absolutely loved this book.
Kathryn Andrews brings this entire world of characters and this impeccable love story to life through her incredible writing and storytelling in a way that I cannot say enough good things about. She put you in the heart of this story with her incredibly charming characters and she lets you love them as they fall in love with each other. While doing that, she also brings you into this very special small town that is so memorable, so full of holiday cheer, and just the perfect place to be. Her writing allows you to live through every breath of this story feeling like you’re right there with these characters in every breath of what you get with them and it’s the absolute best. You just get to experience every bit of heart and charm and vibrancy and love that she so beautifully captured through her writing with Harper and Dash and it’s absolutely everything.

Dasher + Dancer was the perfect holiday romance from start to finish. It had the holiday cheer and fun, some crazy antics, and a hell of a love story. But more than that, it just had two genuinely incredible characters that I completely loved with my whole heart and believed in with all that I had. Their connection and what they feel for one another is phenomenal, and it just goes to show that the grumpy neighbor next-door might just be the dream you never expected to have happen. And it also might show you that the sunshine neighbor next-door who is quickly burrowing herself so deep into your heart might just be the biggest dream you never even knew you needed. And getting to experience every breath of that through this authors, fantastic writing is the cherry on top that gives you a perfect holiday love story from start to finish.
This book was everything my heart needed and more and I just loved it. I’m already counting down the days to my next visit to antler Bay because I am ready for so many of these characters stories. Kathryn Andrews definitely creates a world you can’t wait to get lost in and coupling that with all of the holiday fun and cheer and shenanigans will just have you loving the feel and the vibrancy and charm of this book. But more than that, this book contains an incredible love story that will show you that chance encounters and crazy possibilities and dreams can bring you everything you didn’t even know you needed in life and that, well that’s just everything. Just ask Harper & Dash. 😉
