READ MY REVIEW OF THE LINE

EXCERPT:

How could it be so damn hot at seven in the morning? I wasn’t sure, but it was. Even in a thin tank, cut-off shorts, and my boots, I was melting. I stood at the top of a ladder Cole had placed against a tree so that we could reach the peaches up top. I used the rubber band on my wrist and tied my hair into a knot at the top of my head, hoping that it helped.

Cole climbed up behind me on the ladder and stood a couple of rungs below, but still, he towered over my small frame.

“Okay?” he asked.

“Yep,” I answered, even though I wasn’t okay. He was so close, and that familiar earthy, smoke smell I loved almost as much as rocky road invaded my senses.

“Good.” He looked at the peaches. “Alrighty. You see the ones that have that pink color?” He motioned to a cluster of fruit in front of us.

I nodded, trying not to breathe in too much. Because Jesus, he smelled delicious.

“Those look ripe and done. The paler ones behind them don’t look ready yet.”

I nodded again, and Cole grabbed my hand. He pressed his fingers in, wrapping both of our hands around a peach. He pushed the tips of his fingers into mine at the top of the fruit, near the stem.

“Feel the give, how it feels soft there?”

I squeezed my fingers around the stem again without his help and said, “Yep. Feels softer there.”

He smiled down at me. “Good. That’s also a sign it’s ripe for picking. But be gentle. They bruise easily.”

Cole’s front pressed closer to my back, and I shivered. The way Cole taught me to do things here was pure torture. It was also outright ecstasy. I lived for these moments as much as I loathed them. Because the man was a damn tease. He’d sent me back to the big house a sweaty, panting mess more times than I could count, my panties drenched.

He gently squeezed our hands around the peach and twisted and pulled. The peach came free, my tiny hand gripped it and his big, rough hand wrapped around mine. He brought our hands to my face and pressed the peach closer to my nose.

“How does it smell?” he asked in my ear.

I wanted to say, “I don’t know. I can’t smell a damn thing but your smoke and leather, and I don’t want to.”

Instead, I closed my eyes. I pressed my nose right up against the peach and concentrated on the smell.

“Sweet,” I said, my eyes still closed.

Our hands moved, and I felt the peach at my lips. My heart hammered and fire raced across my skin, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the weather.

Cole positioned himself even closer, and it seemed, in that moment, that every breath he took sucked up every bit of air in the atmosphere.

My own breath quickened, and a growl rumbled low in Cole’s chest.

“Taste it,” he whispered in my ear, his lips so close that I was sure he could taste me on them.

I opened my mouth and wrapped my lips around the fruit, the fuzzy skin tickling my lips. I bit down, and that rumble I heard from Cole made an appearance again. I moaned as I pressed my teeth to the fruit, the juicy sweetness of the peach sliding over my tongue.

“So good,” I groaned as Cole pulled our hands and the peach back. A little juice rolled down my chin and I attempted to lift my free hand to wipe it.

“I got it,” Cole said, brushing his hand over my chin, slowly picking the juice up with his finger, and ever-so-Goddamn-enticingly placing his finger in his mouth before sucking it clean like it was the best thing he’d ever put in his mouth.

“Delicious,” he said, his hooded eyes on mine as he popped his finger out of his mouth.

And fuck me. I swayed on that ladder, my own eyes closing as I willed my cowboy to kiss me with every breath I took. I made myself only will this about once a day, so I thought I was doing pretty good.

He brought our hands holding the peach to his mouth. He wrapped his mouth around it, his lips brushing my fingers, and I felt it deep in my core. I pressed my thighs together and swallowed a moan.

“Perfect,” he said, staring into my eyes. He held my gaze for a moment more before shaking his head and letting my hand, which was still clasped around the peach, go. Then he stepped off the ladder like he hadn’t just made sweet, sweet love to that peach with his mouth right here in front of me.

I watched him walk off to another tree, place a ladder against it, and climb up like nothing in the world had happened. I kicked the rung of the ladder and turned back to the tree. Damn peach molester.

*****5 Unforgettably Emotional Stars*****

I’m sitting here staring at my computer screen, trying for the life of me to come up with the right amount of words to even scratch the surface of the literal amazingness that is this book….and you know what?! I’ve already decided that no words I can tell you could even come close to capturing what it was like to read and experience and feel every breathtaking word this book. My words just aren’t good enough to show you what this book is like, or to capture how truly unforgettable it is.

My words just won’t be able to do it….but even still, I’m going to try with all I have to show you how much you NEED this book in your life because this book, this story, and Elle Brook’s exceptional writing deserve it.

A Life Less Beautiful is one of the most unforgettable, all-feeling, and soul touching books I have EVER read.

This book is the definition of what it means to be a damn good book. It has a story that is thoughtfully crafted, emotions that are visceral and beyond authentic, characters that are easy to love and root for, and it packs a literal power and meaning to it that you will NEVER forget. Honestly, when I think about this book, I think about what it made me feel, what it allowed me to believe in, and what it gave me with these characters along the way…and really I just think about how I know I will never forget one piece of this story.

A Life Less Beautiful is a story that sticks with you. Forever. It’s a book that takes ahold of your heart, your very soul really. It’s a book that makes you, and breaks you, and gives you every emotion under the sun. This story is one that pushes you to your very emotional limit and threatens to shatter you on every page, yet in the same breath and on those same pages, allows you to feel the most meaningful and genuinely breathtaking love you will ever experience.

This book is real. This book is the definition of an honest to goodness love story. This book is meaningful in every possible way. This book is mesmerizing and consuming through every page. This book is life. This book is love. This book is Harlow and Ellis.

What Elle Brooks so extraordinarily created in this book is something that left me breathless, made me cry my eyes out on more than one occasion, and left me in awe of what she created between these two dynamic characters.

As I sit here writing this review I am truly struggling with what to tell you about this book because I want to tell you it all. And I truly mean, I want to tell you EVERYTHING because this book and its magnificence deserves to be shouted from every rooftop in the world. And that is not an exaggeration on my part. Trust me, this book deserves that kind of sentiment. I want to tell you all about these characters, and this story, and what they’ll give you as you feel and live and breathe every word of it with them….but I also don’t want to tell you anything about this book because I don’t want to take away anything of what it will be like for you to read this book.

If there is one thing I could tell you about this book, besides the fact that it is utterly amazing, it would be to go in blind. Just jump in heart first and be prepared to feel it all with Harlow and Ellis. Jump right into this book and thick of it all and live it. Live it. Breathe it. Feel it. And embrace it all as it comes because that will literally give you it all as you read and experience this story. Trust. Me.

A Life Less Beautiful is a second chance love story that weaves together an emotional and beyond meaningful past and present of Ellis and Harlow. Told with the perfect combination of both, this story allows you to be with them every step of the way as they fall, as they break, as they try to pick themselves back up, just to willingly fall all over again. Their story in this book is one of raw emotion, true connection, and a love that you will feel in the deepest parts of your heart and soul.

Every turn of the page dives you deeper into how things came to be with them, and pushes you along with them, closer to a future that they equally crave and fear.

What I loved about the way this story was told was that the seamless interweaving of the past and present allowed me to get so much with both of these characters. It allowed me to see it all with them. I got to experience where it all started, from that first meeting to that first kiss to every first in between. I got to be there as their young love blossomed into more than they ever could have imagined, and I got to be there with them as it was all torn apart. And boy did those pieces hurt like a mother. Then I got to be there as they tried to put it all back together again, as they tried to overcome the mountains of hurt and pain between them, and as they tried to see what could be if they gave their love and their hearts one more chance.

That second chance at it all is the life and breath of this story. It is what makes this book the exceptional thing that it is, and it is that blend of past and present, joy and hurt, hate and love, and hope and fear that makes this story the best amount of everything. This book is one that will make you feel it all. To the point that sometimes that emotion will overwhelm you and consume you and own you, but only in the absolute best way because it will give you Harlow, Ellis, and everything those two share together.

It is that emotion and those extraordinary characters that make this book one of the best I have ever read.

What I loved about Harlow and Ellis was the evolution I saw and experience with them both. I got to be with them at so many stages of their lives and their relationship, and got to see how they grew and changed yet still stayed true to their endearing selves, which invested me so wholly and truly in every part of them and in every piece of what they shared together. Elle Brooks does the most phenomenal job of keeping you with those two, in heart and head, in such an authentic way that sears you to them. Those two still own my heart, and I officially do not want it back from them because I never want to forget what I got with them, and what they allowed me to feel and think along the way.

I am 100% positive that these characters will stay with me for the rest of time, and that is a true testament to what she so brilliantly created with them in this story.

Harlow was a fierce, fiery, and vibrant girl with some serious personality who owns herself and her choices. She is a fighter that girl, and she will awe you with her strength and tenacity through it all. When the punches keep coming, she keeps fighting, yet through this book you also get to see a softer side to her where her true vulnerability and heart lies…and that, well that is everything. Ellis Hughes now, well that is a man guaranteed to steal your heart with all he has. He is a man who is inherently good, endearing in every possible way, and thoughtful. So damn thoughtful. Ellis is a man who will melt your heart, while simultaneously making it beat a bit faster with all that he gives you. That combined with his honesty and protectiveness for those he loves will have you giving your heart over to him in no time flat.

Both of these characters are real, so beautifully genuine, and they have real connection that fires and builds and grows through every single page of this story.

And let me tell you now, what you get between these two will make you blush, will make you feel it all, and will show you even more of why those two need to be together. What Harlow and Ellis share is deep. It’s real. It’s practically tangible through every page of this story with what you get with them, and it is given life by Elle Brooks’ extraordinary writing. What you feel between them, how it brings your heart and your very soul to the edge of it all, and the breathtaking, heated, emotionally passionate, and love and anguish filled moments it gives you with them will pull you to them in every way possible…and I am telling you, you will never want to let them go.

So buckle up, strap in, and prepare yourself and your heart for the ride and story of a lifetime.

As I said in the beginning of this review, there is no way that my words will do the right amount of justice for this story, these characters, or what this book is and what it gives you. My words just aren’t good enough to capture even a part of this amazing story, but trust me when I say that you NEED this book in your life this very second.

You need to feel it. You need to embrace it. You need to be open to it. You need to take it in and let it awe you, because I promise you if you open yourself up to this story and these characters it will do just that.

A Life Less Beautiful is a story of what could be, what should be, what will be, and everything in between. This book is one of love and anguish, first, second, and many more chances, and two characters who seem to have it all stacked against them, yet still find themselves being pulled so fiercely back together again. This is a story of love and heartbreak, friendship and family, hope and fear, and the power of choice and fate and life.

This book is one of the most powerful, meaningful, and emotional stories I have ever read, and I truly can’t say that enough.

I am telling you that no matter what you think or believe or feel while reading this book, you will NEVER forget it, or what this story and its characters give you. I think it is quite literally impossible to forget any part of this story, or what Harlow and Ellis so authentically and emotionally give you because it is that damn good, that damn real, and that damn perfect. Don’t get me wrong, this book is an emotional roller coaster that will have you feeling a gamut of different emotions, but that is what makes it the extraordinary thing that it is, and that is what sets it apart.

And when you reach that last page, and experience those last lines of what this story so breathtakingly gives you, you will do so feeling the meaning, the impact, the power, and the true love they hold.

And that my friends is just part of what makes A Life Less Beautiful one of the most beautiful, all-feeling, and unforgettable books I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

So please, I beg of you, read this book. Read it. Feel it. Embrace it. Live it.

It would be wrong not to, trust me.

Excerpt

I lean over the edge of the balcony and peer down at the garden below. I’d take a moment to enjoy the cool Wilmington wind against my flushed face if I could breathe. For a solid minute my vision swims as I struggle to suck in enough air to keep from passing out. The sound of my pulse rushing in my ears begins to ebb as everything starts to calm and I thank my lucky stars. Soft strains of music slowly drift free and steal the silence I rushed up here to find, as the patio doors beneath me open. I can hear fractured snippets of people regaling fond stories of Mrs. Adkins. I move slowly backward into the shadows and watch as he steps out onto the deck, running his hands through his hair. I should take the opportunity to leave while he’s out here, but I can’t seem to make my legs work.

I watch as he links his hands behind his neck and stares out at the sky. My heart rate begins to accelerate again when I remember idly how I used to love running my hands through his messy blonde locks. He looks exactly the same and yet somehow completely different. The natural, infectious energy that used to surround him has disappeared, but I guess prison will do that to you. The boy I last laid eyes on has long disappeared, but the man that’s taken his place bears all the resemblances to my first love.

I wish I’d known he was going to be here—I could have avoided him. I’m not ready to see him, and as he stands looking out into the night, I can’t pull my eyes away. I’ve practiced every day for ten years what I would do in this situation. I’d ask him why he didn’t come clean. Why he lied. Why he shut me out and ruined what was left of my already broken heart. I was positive I’d be able to deliver it spurred on by anger alone. I was wrong. I assumed I’d be furious, but now that it’s actually happening I’m not.

The floorboard creaks when I jerk as a cold shiver races to the base of my spine. I quickly step behind the curtain, worried he might have heard me jump, but when I peer out he hasn’t moved a muscle. My body temperature suddenly feels as though it’s dipped to ten below zero and I’m trembling, despite the mild night. He’s so still it doesn’t look like he’s breathing. I can’t see his face; I should at least thank the universe for that small mercy. I shiver violently again and fold my arms tightly under my chest, trying to get a hold of myself. The sight of him has knocked out the little air I’d managed to suck in clear from my lungs, and my body’s decided to betray me yet again. I shouldn’t be surprised; it’s nothing new. I’m trembling uncontrollably now, and I try to relax and take some deep breaths like I’m supposed to. I’ve seen people shake violently with anger before, but I know that’s not what this is. This isn’t rage or hatred—it’s an acute realization.

I’ve missed him. I’ve missed the one person in this world I should hate.

*****5 Unforgettable Cowboy Stars*****

Let me start this review off by saying that if I could give it all the stars in the world, I would. It is that good. It is that exceptionally written. And it is that damn unforgettable. This book, this world, these characters, and what I got within the pages of this utterly consuming book was everything, and I truly can’t say that enough.

This book took me in its grasp, and didn’t let me go all the way through. It made me fall. It made me swoon something fierce. It had me beyond smitten with these characters, their wonderful and crazy and memorable antics, and all that they shared. It was bursting with feels, the best amount of mystery to keep you hooked into every word and page, some serious romance, and a fire and connection that wouldn’t quit for nothing.

The Line by Amie Knight is a second chance romance that seamlessly weaves together a story of what happens when your past and present collide in a way you never saw coming, causing the most mesmerizing, alluring, vibrant, and breathtaking fireworks of your life. Experiencing those fireworks is equally scary and wonderful and something you’ve never quite experienced before. Getting to experience what those fireworks bring to your life will take these characters to places they never thought they’d be, but can’t help but desperately want to be with all that they have.

This book follows their journey with those fireworks, with the best dose of southern charm and sass thrown in that will have you wanting to run yourself to the peach farm these unforgettable characters call home. Trust me on that. There is no way you can read this book, and not fall in love with everything these characters share, or the magical place they call home.

This book was good. Damn good. It was so easy to fall right into from that very first page, and it kept me beyond hooked into it all with Cole and Everly as they tried to see what might happen if they gave it all a go. It was exceptionally written, thoughtfully crafted, and one helluva story that I know I won’t soon forget, and that is truly just part of what makes The Line by Amie Knight such an extraordinary read.

What I LOVED about The Line:

  • The one and only Everly Woods. Everly Woods is a girl who stole my heart from the very first moment I met her in this book. That girl has been through so much, and over the course of this book you learn about her struggle, her attempt to heal from the abandon and hurt that clouds her past, and how’s she’s done her darn best to come out the other side of it all. Everly is easy to love, easy to connect to, and so beyond easy to root for. That girl will show you the definition of tenacity, what it means to truly give it your all, and what it means to risk your heart and your very soul for the chance at something more. Everly’s journey in this book will pull at all of your emotions, and then some. In the end you will love the authentic, all-feeling, and truly unforgettable story you get with her as she discovers herself, what she truly wants and needs, and how hard she’s willing to fight to get it.
  • Save a horse and ride a Cole. Now let me tell you right now that there is no resisting the one and only Cole Briggs. That man is a bit broody, he’s got a past of his own that pulls at him every day, and at the heart of it all, he is a genuinely good guy just trying to make it through. Did I also mention the fact that he is a hot as sin cowboy that will melt your heart….and other parts of you something fierce?! Because that man is guaranteed to steal your heart, set it on fire, and have it falling so hard for him and all that he is in no time flat. Trust me. There is no resisting that man. I loved Cole’s character because he was real, he was genuine through and through, and he was honest about his struggle and what he was trying to do. That man has been through his own world of hurt and struggle, and this book explores what happens when the one person who can truly make it better, comes flashing unexpectedly back into his life. His story in this book will have you feeling it all with him as he tries to put his own pieces back together, all while you swoon something fierce with what he brings to this book.
  • Past, present, and everything in between. One of the most exceptional aspects of this book was the seamless weaving of the past and present. This book opens in the past with Everly and Cole and their unforgettable first meeting, and over the course of the book you get to see firsthand what happened after that meeting, how these two have come to end up in the same place, and how that connection and spark is still there as strong as ever. Amie Knight does an incredible job of letting you understand how these characters came to be where they are, she allows you to understand their fears and doubts, and she allows you to be with them every step of the way in the present as they both give it all they’ve got when they’re presented a second chance. Every moment of that second chance with Everly and Cole is packed with feeling, some serious swoon and connection, and the unforgettable dynamic that is created when past and present collide. The collision of that past and present in The Line pushes both Cole and Everly in ways they didn’t know possible, and you will be enamored by every ounce of what that brings up with these two.
  • A connection worth it all. To say that Everly and Cole’s connection was full of fire, the most authentic feeling, and some serious passion is really not capturing all that those two share. That fire and connection ignites between them through every page of this book, and just grows and grows and grows as their story continues. That connection is so deeply rooted between those two, and the way it all unfolds as they reconnect and see what might be will leave you breathless more times than you can count. And that is not an exaggeration. There is so much heartfelt emotion behind what those two share, so much authentic feeling, and so much heat and fire that all combines in the most exceptional way to show you exactly what these two share. It’s that connection that pulls you through every lick of their story, and it’s Amie Knights incredible writing that allows you to experience every breath of that. The more you feel that connection and what these two share, the more you will be rooting for them with all you have, and that will have you NEEDING to know what happens next and to see where that connection takes them.
  • A place and people so magical and wonderful. So let me tell you that all while reading this book I just wanted to jump right into where these characters were and spend time with them all. Whether it was Cole and Everly, Joe, Cody, Momma Lou, or any of the other amazing, wonderful, and distinctive characters that make up this book, I loved what I got with them all while reading this book. They made this book feel like home. They made me feel as if I was one of the gang on that Georgia peach farm. They made me feel like I belonged right with the rest of them. The way Amie Knight so authentically creates that world and the characters that make it so special sets this book apart. That thrown in with the good old southern charm and fire they all have, makes reading The Line an experience that is equal parts enjoyable, fun, meaningful, and downright unforgettable.
  • The perfect blend of everything. Amie Knight wove together a story in The Line that was the perfect blend of everything. She created a world and characters that felt so authentic, so beyond real, and that were so easy to love with all that I had. She gave me the connection and fire that had me hooked and blushing all the way through. She had the feels and the emotions that had me tearing up and feeling everything these characters shared so deep in my heart. She created the perfect level of mystery that had me needing to know how it would all unfold. All of that and every other incredible aspect of this book was brought to life through her extraordinary writing to create a book that was the full package. There was romance, laughs, feels, moments that made me cry and moments that had me laughing my butt off. There was family, friendships, first loves, past loves, and everything in between, and that is just part of what made this book so unforgettably amazing to experience.

The Line was a book that let me feel it all, experience it all, and just love it all with these two unforgettable characters as they gave it all second chance. The feelings between them, their fire, and the goodness that emanated from the pages of their story took ahold of my heart and soul while reading this book, and I can’t say enough how much I loved what I got with them. It was real, it was sweet, it was romantic and heated and downright good, and that is just a part of what made Everly and Cole’s love story so special.

This book wove together a story that was packed full of meaning, healing, and an emotional journey of two souls who were waiting for the right time to come back together to put the missing pieces of themselves back together again. The events of The Line explore that right time, and you will bask in every ounce of what you get with these characters as they see what could be.

Everly and Cole will steal your heart, and then some, and through it all you will love them, root for them, and just fall so damn hard for everything they share together. Amie Knight blew me away once again with every consuming word of this book. This thoughtfully crafted and all-feeling story proved over and over again how talented she is, and has me beyond excited for more of her mesmerizing words.

If you are looking for a story that will literally give you it all, and have you loving every word you are reading, then run yourself, don’t walk yourself, to this book this very second. It is so good, so well written, and so enjoyable on every level possible.

*****5 Unforgettably Cord & Dana Stars*****

Let me tell you what I know. The sky is blue. My favorite color is purple. Coffee is everything. And M. Mabie knows how to write one helluva damn good book.

Like for real y’all.

I already knew all of those things, especially that last one, before reading this incredible book, but I know them even more now after reading All the Way. This phenomenal standalone romance by M. Mabie was a breath of fresh air that had me laughing out loud more times than I could count, swooning something fierce, and melting for all that I got within the pages of this book with these dynamic and unforgettable characters.

This book was like a tall glass of iced tea after a long hot day. It was so satisfying and refreshing, it quenched every thirst I had and felt, and it just felt so so good and got better and better the more I took it all in.

All the Way wowed me. It blew me away with all that it had. It made me laugh. It made me fall so damn hard for what these characters shared, their unforgettable back and forth, and what their story gave me with them along the way. It made me smile. It made me happy. It allowed me to experience and live and breathe every bit of what these characters shared.

This book made me feel. It made me feel the literal spark and connection firing off between these characters through every word of this book. It made me feel the vibrancy, color, and life of their unforgettable personalities. It made me feel every ounce of what they shared together, and it made me feel how just how good things could be between these characters.

This book gave me it all. And then some.

I’m pretty sure I read this book with a smile so big my cheeks hurt, and with a heart so full that I knew I would not soon forget what M. Mabie so exceptionally crafted and created within this book. I seriously feel as if I could use all of the positive adjectives under the sun to describe this book, its amazing characters, and what it gave me, and I still would only scratch the surface with describing how utterly wonderful it was to read and experience.

All the Way is a story about what happens when the guy who’s done all he can to make himself ready for the woman of his dreams, meets the one woman who doesn’t want to fall for it, or for him.

This book follows the unforgettable and swoonworthy romance of Cord and Dana. Two people who are ready for something more. Only there’s one little problem…one of them doesn’t think that something more could be happening between them.

You see Cord has done all he can to be read for The One. He’s a good guy, with a genuine heart and some serious personality to boot, who knows he’ll know what to do when he meets that special someone he’s been waiting for. But you see, when he meets Dana he soon realizes that every plan he had went out the door because that girl throws him for one helluva loop. He knows from the moment he sees her that there’s something about her that can’t be denied, and something he can’t resist and has to have more of, but the thing is, Dana’s over guys like Cord. Or the kind of guy that she thinks Cord is.

Dana is a girl we can all relate to. She’s the girl who always finds herself attracted to and after the asshole, even though she knows that gets her nowhere she really wants to be. She’s the one who holds herself back, who just doesn’t let herself get too close because it’s never felt right. But you see, she’s ready to change. It’s time for a new leaf, and Dana is ready to have one last fling before putting her ducks in a row, and getting serious because she’s over the way things have been in her love life. And that last fling she’s looking to have before getting serious? Well it may or may not involve one Cord Taylor. (It totally involves Cord Taylor.)

The story that unfolds between Cord and Dana in this book is bursting with their spark filled connection, their vibrant and distinctive personalities, and the perfect blend of steam, pull, feels, and that oh so glorious angst that M. Mabie hits out of the park every damn time.

All the Way follows these two as Cord gives it all he’s got to make Dana realize what’s really happening between them, and as Dana tries just as hard to resist everything he’s doing to her and making her feel. These two definitely make each other work for it a bit, or a lot, but what you get with them along the way as they get closer and closer, as their feelings become oh so real and oh so undeniable, will have you rooting for them with all you have. They don’t make it easy, but trust me when I say they make it so beyond worth it.

What you get with them will have you needing with every breath in your body that these two can figure it all out, remove those obstacles, and give into what’s really happening between them as they see what happens when you truly go all the way.

I have to say that one of my favorite aspects of this book was getting to experience Cord and Dana, their personalities, and every glorious bit of what they shared. There was something about those two that stole my heart with everything they had, and I honestly don’t even want it back because I’m pretty sure Cord and Dana own a permanent piece of my heart after what I got with them during this book. What they share is so real, so authentic, so full of feels and fire and heart, and even though they don’t make it easy, they make working for it the best thing in the world with what they give you in this book.

And let me tell you right this very second that there is no resisting one Cord Taylor. That man will sweep you up with his charm, with his goodness, and with his heart, and you will be in love with him from the very first page. Trust me on that one. That love will grow and deepen through every turn of that page, and by the time you reach the end of this book you will be praying to the good lord above that Cord Taylor will show up on your doorstep faster than you can say purple sweatpants.

I LOVED his character. I loved how real he was, I loved that he had tenacity and determination out the yin yang, and I loved that he was a good man who would do whatever it took to convince the woman he was falling for that he was real, that this was real, and that going all the way was the best damn choice there was. Cord will make you swoon, he will make you laugh and smile, and through it all he will have you knowing that he is the real deal, with the absolute best personality, ready to sweep you off your feet with all he has. That man is everything. I could go on and on about how much I loved him, but I’ll wrap it up because you need to experience him for yourself.

Now Dana Rogers is a female character that I could relate to on so many levels. She is sarcastic, she has some serious fire to her, she’s smart and witty, and she is a girl who has always been drawn to the wrong kind of guy. Dana’s authenticity and memorable voice shined through from page one, and I loved how she wasn’t afraid to be real, how she wasn’t afraid to own where she was, and how she wasn’t afraid to admit to herself that she wanted more. I loved her bold honesty, I loved how this book made her question and wonder and truly think about what she felt and what she wanted, and I loved how this book pushed her to places she wasn’t prepared to go. It was in those places where I learned so much about her, and where I think she learned so much about herself.

She was not prepared for Cord. She was prepared for who she thought he was, but the more she gets to know him, the more she soon starts to realize she was in no way prepared for what he’d bring up with her. M. Mabie allowed me to connect so truly to her through every part of this book, and the more I got with her, the more I loved her realness, the more I felt her heart, and the more I wanted with all I had that that girl would embrace and allow herself to feel what was right in front of her.

This book is all about what happens when you meet the one person who changes everything, and the wild, full of feels and fiery ride that ensues as you feel it all, as you live it all, and as you try once and for all to go all the way.

Mabie completely hit it out of the park once again with this book. It is no secret that she is one of my all-time favorite authors. I love her books so much. I love her exceptional writing, and I love the unforgettable characters and stories she has given me over the years. All the Way was another shining example of the incredible and amazing talent this author has, and how she can truly make the words on a page come to life, right along with those unforgettable characters she continues to create. This book highlighted her talent with seamlessly weaving together heart melting romance, some good old fun and humor, and just enough angst to keep you going back for more. And more. And more. Because it’s just that damn good.

The way she creates a world you love being in, full of characters both main and supporting that give you so much to enjoy, will have you wishing this story would go on and on just to get more time with them all.

All the Way was a story that packed one helluva unforgettable punch. It was the perfect blend of everything. And then some. It had the characters, the story, the personality, the feels, and this honest to goodness good feeling that emanated from every single page in the most phenomenal way. I don’t think I can say enough how good it felt to read this book, or how much I loved it.

This book just felt right. It felt so good. And it gave me two characters that were real, easy to love and root for, and through it all M. Mabie’s exceptional writing consumed me within it all…and that is just a fraction of what made it one of my top reads of the year.

If there is one book you read this week, make it this one. If there is one book you take a chance on, make it this one. If there is one book you think about giving a try, make it this one. You won’t regret it. Not one little bit.

Cord and Dana will sweep you off your feet, have you loving every ounce of what you get with them, and will have you knowing without a doubt that when given a chance to go all the way, you bet for damn sure you go all the way.

Shakespeare believed there was always humor in tragedy and
tragedy in humor.
My life proved his theory as fact.
At eighteen I was a single parent moving to this small town
to be with the man I loved. The one who was supposed to love and cherish me in
return.
Finding out he had a wife was tragic.
Remaining in love with him in spite of her was more tragic.
My mom and best friend setting me up on a long string of
blind dates was an ongoing tragedy.
Nine years later, I’ve learned to see the humor in most
situations.
My mom and best friend setting me up on disastrous blind
dates.
My son’s jokes.
The fire alarm going off each time I cook.
My constant bright spot always adding to the humor was my
son, Hayden. But when Hayden had a life-threatening allergic reaction, the man
who came to help my little boy became my own savior. His laugh, his smile, and
the way his eyes lit up when he spoke to my son made him a beacon of light in
both our lives.
But I wasn’t the only one who noticed him.
When I began having feelings for the man my best and only
friend had fallen for, I knew following my heart would once again lead to a fresh
round of heartbreak.
Love led me to this town.
Lies kept me there.
Would history repeat itself?

Excerpt

“I don’t watch TV at night…” Her voice drifts off, and I know it’s because she realizes I’m going to ask why.And I do.

“You’re going to laugh.”

“Probably.”

“It’s because I can’t hear things.”

“What kinds of things are you trying to hear?”

“I don’t know. Strange noises and things…”

“Strange noises?”

“Do I need to spell it out for you?” She’s trying to sound annoyed, but I can hear the smile in her voice.

“Apparently, because I have no idea what you’re talking about. What kinds of strange noises are you going to hear? I usually turn my TV up to block out all the strange sounds like the neighbor’s kids and the lady behind me that sounds like Fran fucking Drescher.”

“You know who Fran Drescher is?”

“My mother was a big fan of that stupid show she was in. Stop changing the subject. What are you listening for? Hayden won’t sneak out.”

“What if someone breaks in?”

“You’re not serious.”

“Of course I’m serious!”

“What do you do all night?” I ask.

“Work,” she admits. “Well, usually I clean, and then I work.”

“I’m coming over.”

“You can’t.”

The panic in her voice doesn’t make her sound upset about the idea, but afraid.

Is it because she likes me?

“Why not?” I ask.

“It’s like nine o’clock.”

“Are you about to turn orange and sprout a stem?”

“That and I’m not wearing a bra, if you must know.”

“So put it back on.”

“You don’t understand. That’s like saying put your jeans back on.”

“I am in jeans,” I lie just to get a reaction out of her.

“What is wrong with you?” she cries.

“What’s wrong with jeans?”

“They’re stiff and uncomfortable. Wearing jeans all day is basically equivalent to walking on sandpaper. But at least you guys have pockets that will actually hold something larger than a thimble and don’t ride up your ass.”

“If your bra is riding up your ass, we have bigger fish to fry than being afraid of the boogey man.”
