The Final Play isn’t always the end.
Sometimes, it’s the beginning of something far more beautiful.
The Final Play, an all-new enemies-to-lovers sports romance from Amie Knight, is available now!

As a professional linebacker, I lived and breathed football.
The only thing I loved as much as the game was my twin brother, Max, who kept me almost as busy cleaning up his messes.
The most recent of which landed him behind bars.
So, it shouldn’t have surprised me when a beautiful woman showed up on my doorstep, claiming to be pregnant with Max’s baby.
Glory was unexpected, infuriating, and flat-out crazy most of the time.
But no matter how hard I tried to deny it, that tiny spitfire slammed into my boring life with the strength of a Category 5 hurricane, blowing through my defenses until she’d carved her name in my heart—permanently.
I feared we would never work. She was a single mom, my brother’s ex, and one more chance for me to fail yet another person I loved.
But if football was my church, then Glory was my heaven.

My Review:
*****5 Absolutely Amazing Stars*****
Amie Knight continues to be one of my all-time favorite authors. When I sit down to read one of her books, I know that I will be doing that in one sitting because her books are utterly consuming. I know that she will give me an unforgettable story that is so full of heart and feels special, and I know that she will give me incredible characters that I will instantly be in love with. This book had everything I’ve come to love and expect from this author in spades, and it just had me beyond in love with everything they gave me.
The Final Play what is the perfect conclusion to a series that has owned every single part of my heart and soul.
This series has been an absolute pleasure to read. It has made me cry, it has pulled at every part of my heart, it has made me smile and laugh with the antics of these characters, it has charmed me and wowed me in every way possible, and it has just overwhelmed me in the most amazing way with what these characters have given me.
What Amie Knight has created in her Summerville Sports series is something that I will always treasure. She has found the perfect balance of romance, emotion and heart, football, fun, and feisty characters that will have you desperate for everything they’re willing to give you. I have loved getting each and everyone of these characters journeys in the series, but I won’t lie, ever since that first book, I was ready for Mason‘s story. I was ready to see his journey. I was ready to experience what he had been through because I knew it would be an emotional doozy, but I also knew that I was so ready for it.
What I got with Mason and Glory was nothing short of everything.
It was fiery as hell, forbiddingly romantic in the best way, with so much heart touching emotion that consumed every part of me as I was reading. Those two get off to a very interesting start, and it is memorable to say the least, but what ensued with them as this book continues on is a love story that well make you feel everything. It will show you the authenticity and vulnerability of them both. It will allow you to understand and feel everything with them. It will allow you to get why they make the choices they do, why they build the walls around their hearts that they do, and why the other is the one person who can knock all of those walls down. It will allow you to be at the forefront of it all as they feel and share what they do, as they put it all on the line, and as they see what could be in what seems like an impossible situation.
What Amie Knight gives you with Mason and Glory is the actual best. I’m pretty sure that my cheeks were hurting from smiling and laughing so hard at the banter between those two. When I say they are definitely enemies to lovers at the first part of this book, I mean that with the fiber of my soul, and I mean that in the best possible way. They have the best push and pull that is so intense, that is so fiery, that is so sassy and personality driven, and that will have you loving it all. They get on each other‘s nerves, they push each other‘s buttons, and they know exactly what to say to get the other simultaneously turned on and annoyed as hell. I loved being in the thick of that dynamic and I was a living for every single line out of their mouths. The way that that continues and changes and grows and develops over the course of the story with him just amplifies everything you feel for them.
Trust me when I say that.
Mason and Glory are two people who shouldn’t want to be together, yet can’t help but be drawn closer and closer to one another. He is the star football player in the NFL. Football is his livelihood, it’s in his blood, and it is who he is. After a tragedy that tore his family apart, football was a staple. And so was his brother Max. They both went through a lot of trauma, and only one of them is doing okay at the start of this book. That’s where Glory comes in. She shared a wild weekend with Max about seven months ago, and now she’s expecting a little bundle of joy that belongs to him. Bound and determined to keep the only family he really has left, Mason sets out to show Glory that he can be there to help her through this and will support her. Even if they don’t like each other and even if they get on each other‘s nerves, he wants to be there for her. But she is bound and determined to do it on her own because that is what life has shown her, and that is all she can trust.
These two definitely get off to a rocky start, but the more they get to know one another, the more that he tries to help her, and the more she tries to push him away, the more they realize that there is something about the other that they can’t deny… And that they can’t run away from. I absolutely lived for that dynamic, that vibrancy between them, and that push and pull that built in the most glorious and slow burn way throughout this book. It was absolutely everything and that combined with the forbidden nature of it all because she was having a baby with his brother and he wasn’t supposed to want her, and she wasn’t supposed to want him, and the fact that they were so seemingly opposite in so many ways, but how it also just worked, made for an absolutely incredible read.
I really cannot say that enough.
Amie Knight delivered it all in this book. She gave me a romance that was swoon worthy. She gave me a romance that was so honest and real. She gave me a romance that allowed me to peel back the layers of these characters and truly understand their hearts and their minds and what was driving them. She gave me a romance that was all consuming in every way. She gave me a romance that was beautiful and emotional and thoughtful and sweet and just genuinely enjoyable to read.
She gave me a romance that delivered everything I needed and more. And it was the actual best.
One of my favorite aspects of this book, that I felt from the very first page of that prologue, was the level of emotion and vulnerability that Amie Knight so seamlessly weaves into the story with these characters. She wholeheartedly enveloped you within that emotion from the very start. She let you understand the trauma of what both Mason and Max went through as children. She let you understand what has driven them apart as brothers. She let you understand Glory and her life and her struggle. She lets you understand what these characters have been through. She lets you understand their worries and vulnerabilities. She lets you understand what keeps them apart when all they want to do is run to one another. She lets you get and understand the why behind their fears and what holds them back. But more than that she also lets you get what eventually pushes them forward. She lets you get what gives them the faith to try. She lets you understand what makes them want to have more. She lets you be there in that tipping point when that more becomes something so very tangible for them.
She lets you be there through every facet of their journey and it is beautiful.
It is meaningful. It is heartfelt. It is genuine and real and complicated in messy and it is theirs and it is one of the best stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.
I loved everything that Mason and Glory shared. I loved that they had a bumpy and very memorable journey to finding their way. I loved that they so got off on the wrong foot, but definitely found their footing. I loved that they made each other realize that more was possible and that even though that more could scare you out of your ever loving mind, that more could also give you everything. I loved that they built a level of trust that allowed them to open up to one another. I loved that they really saw one another. I loved that they understood that the other had been through so much, I loved that they weren’t afraid to fight for each other when it really mattered, and I loved that they weren’t afraid to be vulnerable and real when they really needed to.
Their story definitely isn’t easy and it will break your heart a time or two, but they will show you that love can give you everything. They will show you that love can heal you. They will show you that love can give you a family. They will show you that love can give you hope. They will show you that love can bring you to places you never even thought were possible or even considered. They will show you that love can really help you find your way, even in the hardest and darkest of moments. They will show you that anything is possible if you keep your heart open to the one person who scares you out of your mind, but who also could make all the difference.
Amie Knight completely outdid herself in The Final Play.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love her books more, she went to and amplify the love I have her characters. The way that she let me feel and get every single part of this story with Mason and Glory as they took a chance on love and friendship and family was nothing short of wonderful. The way that she let me experience everything as these characters bare their souls to one another was absolutely beautiful. The way that she let me bask in the antics of their banter and their back-and-forth, while also simultaneously melting at the fiery and intense connection that was building between them was utterly incredible. The way that she just allowed me to be in this book, living these moments with these characters was absolutely fantastic.
This book was the perfect conclusion to a series that I have loved from the start. Getting to be with all of these characters as they celebrate the triumphs of football and family and friendship and love was absolutely beautiful and so meaningful. It was also all kinds of fun. Getting to be with these characters through thick and thin, through ups and downs, and through every crazy memorable moment just made this an absolutely phenomenal series to read and experience. This author perfectly balances that charm and that spice and that element of love, while also giving you so much heart and emotion.
Amie Knight brings it all together in the perfect package that will have you smiling and laughing and crying and feeling everything, and honestly that’s just scratching the surface of what makes this such an incredible book and series to experience.
I loved everything about this book and I really cannot recommend it enough. It was phenomenally written and crafted, it was so beautifully authentic and emotional, and it just blew me away with what I got with these characters. There were so many pieces and layers of them that’s so perfectly came together in this book and I just loved it. I loved what these characters made me feel. I loved what they gave me with them. I loved what they made me think and wonder and get along the way as they fought like hell for that family and that love that was so close to being in their reach. I loved getting to see them realize that love and healing and hope can be possible.
If you have loved a book by this author, then I guarantee you will love this one. If you’ve never read a book by this author, it’s a perfect place to jump in. Even though it’s the end of the line for these characters in this series, it’s also a perfect place to start the emotional love story that this author so beautifully gives you. If you love a good sports romance or a single parent romance with a for bidden twist, then run yourself to this book. And if you love a book that will make you feel at all and that will have you melting into a puddle of goo with what you get with these characters, then just do yourself a favor and read this book. As soon as humanly possible.
Amie Knight delivered it all in The Final Play, and I really could not have asked for more. What she gave me with her characters, what she allowed me to experience, what she allowed me to feel with the impact of their love was everything. It truly resonated with me in every way and I could not be more in love with Mason and Glory and what they share together. The way that these characters come together is unorthodox and a little crazy at times, but it’s them and it works and it’s fucking beautiful. And getting a love story that celebrates the possibilities of what could be, that celebrates the family you build and the family you have, and getting a story that celebrates embracing what made you you to be the person you are and the person who gets to love and be loved…well that is just magnificent.
And it makes for a hell of a love story. Trust me on that.
Excerpt
He was the best man I’d ever known and I couldn’t have him. I probably didn’t deserve him, anyway.
Tears flooded my eyes and I paid the cashier as fast as possible before practically running behind the buggy to get to my car. I loaded the groceries, tears trailing my cheeks.
I didn’t even bother to wipe them away. This whole situation was sad. It deserved my tears. Every damn one of them. Because Mason and Glory could never be.
It would be weird and wrong. What the hell would we even tell people? How would we explain? And how would Max feel? I had a feeling it wasn’t good at all.
I climbed into the front seat of my car and held on to my steering wheel for dear life. And sobbed. And then when I was done sobbing , I beat the shit out of that steering wheel and then the dashboard.
Because life wasn’t fair. It just fucking wasn’t and again and again it just kept throwing me punch after punch. How long was I supposed to still stay standing?
I felt like this might be the final punch and it was a knockout. Because I had a feeling that Mason Stark was my person. And I couldn’t even have him.
