Her every move is watched, her majyk is getting out of hand, and the one person she thought she could trust is pulling away. The secrets she holds inside of her may break apart the foundation of what makes her a Volshebnitsya. As Calista regains more of her memory, she realizes that maybe she is not who she thought she was, and there are forces much darker than the Glava that she must stand against. But how can she trust what’s true, if everyone around her knows more than they’re saying?

The storms are getting worse, entering the majykal Skazka and blurring the veil between the worlds. Frankenstein’s monsters are right on her heels, with the Glava pushing to destroy what is left of the High Realm, while Calista is trapped in the middle.

Is she darkness or is she light? Finding the answer to that question may cost Calista everything, even the happy ending she so desperately desires.

An Imperfect Heart PRINT-FOR-WEB

The heart is exquisite.

You’ll never hear anyone wax poetic over an organ quite like they do the heart.

When you’re lost in the world? Follow your heart.

When your love for someone is unwavering, unparalleled and unprecedented? You give them your heart.

As a lead pediatric cardiac surgeon, I knew better than anyone that the heart is equally as powerful as it is delicate.

The heart giveth just as easily as it taketh away.

And until the day Kelly Potter darkened my doorway that was all just part of the job.

She rolled in like a slow evening storm, fierce and beautiful, fighting for the life of her unborn child.

It should have been business as usual.

I was a doctor.

Her child the patient.

But Kelly was more.

She was the one who got away.

I wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

It didn’t matter what the rules were.

For once, I was listening to my heart.

*****5 Unforgettably Emotional Stars*****

There are things I’ve come to know and love and expect when I sit down to read a book by Amie Knight. When I read one of her books, I know that I will be getting an unforgettable story with dynamic and memorable characters that will literally take my breath away. When I read one of her books, I love that I will get all of the feels, all of the glorious emotion, and all of the breathtakingly beautiful moments with her characters as I experience their journey. When I read one of her books, I expect that what I’m reading will soon become one of my all-time favorite books that will leave me in awe once again of what she’s so fantastically created within the pages of her story.

When I read a book by Amie Knight I know and love and expect to get all of that and more because that is how spectacular and utterly amazing her books, her words, and her stories are.

They are everything. And more. So much more. And I do not say that lightly.

They are stories and characters that move me, that break me and shatter met, yet give me it all in the same breath with her exceptional storytelling. They are words that change everything, words that bring moments to life in the most tangible and authentic way, and words that truly speak to every part of you. They are books that I know I will never forget, worlds I never want to leave, and feels that light me, my heart, and my very soul on fire with what they so give me.

Suffice to say, I am a big fan of Amie Knight and her books. A real big fan.

Her newest book and the conclusion to her series of interconnected standalones, An Imperfect Heart, is just another prime example of the shear talent this author has. What she so beautifully creates in this book, what she brings to life in the most touching and heart melting way, and what she allows you live and experience with her characters delivers one hell of a story and one seriously fitting conclusion to an incredible series. I loved every word of this book. I loved what it allowed me to feel and share with its characters, I loved that it told a story that was equally beautiful and heartbreaking and real, and I loved that through it all I felt every ounce of what these characters were sharing and building together.

I’m also pretty sure I swooned through every single word of this book because what she gave me with Anthony and Kelly was heart touching and pure perfection in every single way.

An Imperfect Heart follows the second chance romance that develops between Kelly and Anthony, as she comes firing back into his life in search of help that only he can provide. Ten years ago Kelly and Anthony shared something very real, and something that hit them hard and fast in a way that changed them both forever. Ten years later they’re very different than they were before, and are suddenly thrust back into each other’s lives when Kelly reaches out to Anthony for help with her unborn child. You see Kelly’s soon to be born baby needs help and Anthony is the Doctor who can do just that.

This story follows them from the start of their very memorable reunion, through glimpses and moments of the past that let you know why things went they did with the two of them, all while giving you the most amazing present with them as they soon realize that the world of connection and feeling they shared is still alive and kicking something fierce.

Every word of this story weaves together the most thoughtful and enrapturing past and present with these two that simultaneously allows you to know what they once shared, what they’re sharing now, and how utterly real and scary and heartfelt and honest it all is.

Brought to life through Amie Knight’s signature writing, An Imperfect Heart tells the love story of what happens when second chances are given, when rules are broken, and when the heart comes back to life in ways that you were in no way prepared for.

Every word of this story had me loving and feeling every single breath of what Anthony and Kelly were sharing. Amie Knight has the best way of bringing that emotion to life in a way that is fitting, in a way that heightens all that you’re reading, and in a way that will truly give you it all with her characters. I loved that I was able to feel this story with these characters. I was able to live and breathe and feel every moment of this story, and the way Amie Knight adds in that honest emotion and feels to it all makes this story what it is. It makes it all so real, so tangible in a way, and that just adds the most authentic and connecting level to what you’re reading in this story.

When I was reading this story I was able to feel Kelly’s worries of the mother she would be, what would happen to her child, and I was able to feel how scary it was to take that leap and feel what she did for Anthony. I felt and understood her doubts, I relished in her sass and fire and personality, and I felt how hard it was for her to rely on someone after being alone for so long. I felt her fears, how they threatened to cripple her at times, and I felt in that same breath how those same fears and worries and doubts gave her the fire and tenacity to fight with all that she had. I felt it all with her. Her strength, her heart, and the music and fire that kept her going through it all.

I felt it all with Anthony too. I felt how that man had a heart of gold and how he was doing whatever was in his power to be there for Kelly and her baby and his other patients. I felt how that man would truly go to the ends of the Earth to fix everything and to give her everything if he could. I felt his own fears about his choices, what they meant and their heartbreaking repercussions. I felt how his own past and fears threatened to tear apart what he was building with Kelly. I felt his drive and his heart, and how the combination of those two things made him one of the most swoon worthy characters I have ever read. I felt it all with him. His good heart, his sweet nature, and his own fight and determination that kept him going through it all.

It’s pretty easy to say that I loved Kelly and Anthony with all that I had. Like I honestly don’t even have the right amount of words to capture my love for them. I loved what they were building, rebuilding, and creating in this book. I loved how special and right it felt. I loved that their story was uniquely theirs and highlighted what exactly they were sharing together.

I LOVED how damn good it felt too.

I truly can’t say that enough. This book felt so good to read. It felt special. It felt like just enough. It felt like the more these characters needed. It felt like exactly what they needed, and it gave me some of the most incredible, heart wrenching, and heart meltingly moments with them along the way. It gave me it all…and I honestly just feel honored that I had the chance to experience what I did with them.

Their story was that special. Their story was that moving and beautiful and powerful. Their story was that emotional and soul touching. Their story was just everything. It was everything I needed and more.

Amie Knight truly outdid herself with An Imperfect Heart. She put it all on the table. All of the feels and hopes and fears on the line, and she let these characters live their truth, even when it scared them half to death. She let them pour it all out to each other, and she lets you be there all along the way as they share all that they do in a way that is so honest, heartfelt, and truly authentic. She lets you be there as their connection and fire builds in the most mesmerizing and tangible of ways.

She lets you be there as they realize that when it comes to the heart, you can’t stop the beat or the pull or the utterly beautiful music it can create because while the heart can take it all away in a single beat, it can also give you everything in the next one.

She lets you be there through every up and down, every twist and turn with these characters as they share their second chance, and you will bask in every moment you get with those two. You will bask in every moment of them, every moment of what they’re building, and every moment that shows you the goodness of their characters and what they’re sharing together.

An Imperfect Heart was a beautifully emotional story that had me enraptured through every word and page. What Amie Knight gives you in this story with Anthony and Kelly will give you hope, every other emotion under the sun, and will have you believing in the power of the heart. This story will take you through every emotional high and low with these characters as they fight for their second chance together, and you will love every moment you get with them because that is how special and right and amazing their story is.

Trust me. You have never read a book quite like this one, and I am telling you, you will be blown away by every word of what you get in An Imperfect Heart by Amie Knight. You will melt and swoon and fall something fierce under the spell that Anthony and Kelly so beautifully cast, and you will truly never want it to end.

Believe me. I read this book weeks ago, and I still can’t stop thinking about it or its characters or what it gave me with them. That is how fitting and right and just genuinely amazing this story is.

What Amie Knight creates within its pages is something truly special and beautiful and magical in a way. I know with every fiber of my being that this book will be one of my top reads of the year, since it is now one of my all-time favorite books. Kelly and Anthony, what they share together, and what you get with them in this book is everything. So much everything.

I could seriously keep going on and on about how much I loved every word and moment of this book. I could keep telling you how amazing this book is, how many feels it’ll give you, how it’ll make you laugh your ass off and cry all the tears, but that honestly wouldn’t even scratch the surface of how spectacular this book is. My words wouldn’t even come close to capturing how special and incredible this book because my words just aren’t good enough to truly capture what Amie Knight so unforgettably creates in this book.

My words aren’t good enough, but you know whose are? Amie Knight’s. Her words are everything, and what they weave together, create, and bring to life in An Imperfect Heart will give you it all. And then some. So do yourself a favor and get to reading them as soon as humanly possible. It would be wrong not to.

Excerpt:

“Jesus. You’re fucking gorgeous, you know that?” He ran a large hand from the spot right in the middle of my shoulder blades past the small of my back before landing on my ass where he squeezed hard enough to make me giggle.

“Less talking, more petting, Doctor,” I said through laughter.

“Not a doctor. Yet.” His voice was cocky, and it made me hot. “Still a ways to go before that happens.”

I could hear the smile in his voice even though I couldn’t see his face. I was lying on my stomach on top of his white plush down comforter naked as the day I was born. And not shy about it at all. He’d just laid his mouth, his tongue, his hands over every inch of this body several times and he’d seemed to enjoy every second of it.

I looked out the small window next to his bed while he was propped up on one hand beside me and using the other to rub every available surface of skin on my body he could find. It was phenomenal. I wanted to purr like a damn cat, but instead I stretched out further along his bed.

“I can’t believe you came home with me tonight,” he husked out.

I couldn’t believe it either. I wasn’t the type of girl who did one-night stands. I didn’t really have boyfriends, either. I was married to the music. Anthony Jackson wasn’t even really my type per se. I liked moody guys with tattoos and piercings. Boys with darker eyes and even darker souls. I was a walking cliché, but I liked the tortured musician types. After all, we were kindred spirits. Me and my hard, banging drums, them with their soft guitar riffs and raspy lyrical voices.

I rolled to my back and gazed up at Anthony. He waggled an eyebrow at me, and I bit my lip to hide my smile. He may not have been my type, but I was positive there wasn’t a girl out there who’d turn him down. Vivid and inquisitive green eyes stared down at me and God, I wanted him all over again.

And I’d had him plenty that night. We’d met at the club only hours ago. I was visiting my friend Ainsley in Columbia, South Carolina, and we’d run into Anthony and his college friends at a nightclub. Ainsley introduced him as an old friend. He’d come on strong. I’d come on even stronger. Hardly any alcohol in my system and yet I’d let him drag me back to his small apartment, between my legs aching with want. We’d barely made it through the door when he picked me up and placed me on the entry table and pushed his massive body between my thighs. Slick skin, hot hands, wet mouths. And the rest was history. Or maybe not.

No, Anthony Jackson wasn’t my type. He was everygirl’s type.

Chiseled to perfection face.

Wide smile complete with full pink lips and deep dimples.

Square jaw that somehow managed to be both soft and hard.

Blond hair that was so thick and shiny I wanted to ask him what shampoo he used.

Not a tattoo or piercing marred the bronzed skin of his muscular body.

For fuck’s sake, even the man’s cock was pure perfection. Thick and long and cut just as beautifully as the rest of him.

He was surprised I’d come home with him. I couldn’t believe it, either. I realized in that moment, him over me. Me under him. The sweat still glistening on our bodies. His ruggedly handsome good looks beaming down at me like the sun on a bright day. For the first time in my life, I’d had a man. An actual real man. Not boys playing men. No, Anthony was all fucking masculine beauty and he’d picked me at the bar. I was one lucky girl.

I have loved each and everyone of their books, and I was so excited to learn that they were going to be joining the Misadventures Series. Their books are already so fun and so vibrant, so they were the perfect fit for this series and their book Misadventures with My Roommate was a complete delight.

This book made me laugh, it had me smiling so much with the banter and the antics and the personalities of these characters, and it had the perfect level of steam and heat and connection that made this one heck of a love story. What I love about Elizabeth Haley’s writing is that they always make their books and their character so memorable. They make their characters so distinctive and memorable, they give them personalities that are unique and special and hysterical, and they never fail to make me laugh out loud or more times than I can count. What they gave me in this book was all of that and more. It was funny as hell, it was witty, it was full of a connection and spark that just wouldn’t quit, and they gave me a story that was equal parts for filling and fiery and fun.

Reading this book brought me back to what allowed me to fall in love with their writing in the first place. The way that Elizabeth Haley introduces their characters in a way that pulls your heart to them, while you are simultaneously dying in the best way with their banter and colorful personalities. They find the perfect way to balance making their characters fun and a little bit crazy and highly memorable, while also making a very relatable and easy to love. I love to Blake and Gavin. I loved that there was more to them than met the eye, I loved that they both had such great personalities that really meshed together, and I love that I felt their connection pulling like crazy through every word of this book.

This story follows the two of them as they become an expected roommates, as they start sharing some very steamy moments, and as they soon realize that they might just be feeling a little bit more than they both bargained for. Elizabeth Haley does a phenomenal job of creating a story that is fun and light, while also weaving in A layer of meaning that I really connected to. I felt a lot for these characters, they were fresh and enjoyable, and I honestly just loved being in this book and experiencing what I got with them. It was fun, it was light, it was them, and in the end it was a fantastic story that I could not get enough of!

I Elizabeth Hayley has done it again with the story and I can’t wait to read more of their books and to get more of their phenomenal writing. This book is the perfect quick read, it will have you laughing more times than you can count, loving what you get with Blake and Gavin, and in the end it will have you realizing again and again how talented Elizabeth Hayley is.

I loved every part of this book, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Meet the Author

Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands’ chagrin).

“Elizabeth” lives with her husband, daughter, and nutjob of a dog. “Hayley” lives with her husband, son, and her own crazy dog. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley’s writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: “I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind.”

****EXCERPT****

He didn’t budge, but my bare feet slipped, sending me toward the ground. Impossibly fast, Till’s hand snaked out and caught my arm. But I didn’t let his chivalrous gesture douse my fire. I had six months’ worth of words to say to the man I was irrevocably in love with.

“You took what you wanted. Then you left me.”

“Doodle,” he whispered.

I had been perilously close to the edge of insanity, and with one single word, he’d pushed me over.

I lost it completely.

Pounding my fists against his chest, I screamed at the top of my lungs, “It’s Eliza! My name is fucking Eliza! Not Doodle!” I spun to march away, but Till’s arms folded around me, lifting me off my feet to restrain me.

I was miniscule compared to him. There was no use in fighting, but I still kicked my legs, irrationally desperate to get away from him—but only because I knew I couldn’t keep him for forever.

“Stop it!” he growled into my ear. “I know your goddamned name—probably better than I know my own.”

While I was wrapped in Till’s strong arms, six months’ worth of tears fell from my eyes. He carried me to my apartment and guided me back through the window before following me inside. Then he stripped out of his blood-soaked shirt before dragging the blankets down and climbing into the bed behind me. I cried for a while in his arms, even turning to face him, only to cry against his chest. I had missed him so much.

I knew I’d loved Till years ago, but this was more. I needed him in order to function on a very basic level. Together, the world didn’t feel so big and overwhelming. He was my escape—the dream personified.

Till Page was comfortable.

His hands trailed up and down my back as he lulled me until the words fought their way out.

“I couldn’t stop going back,” I announced in a broken whisper. “I didn’t know where you had gone. And for the first time since I was thirteen, I was alone inside my own head. God. It was a scary place.” I tried to joke, but the tears streaming down my face told the truth.

“I’m sorry,” he responded on a sigh. “I couldn’t stay.”

“Why?” I whined, but I curled in closer against his chest, needing to feel him more than anything else.

“I don’t know, Doodle,” he lied.

God! It was such a fucking lie. He knew as well as I did. He just didn’t want to tell me.

“Where did you go?” I pressed further.

There was no way I ever could have expected his answer, but that wasn’t because it was a novel thought. No. His answer was surprising because it was the source of my anguish too.

“The real world.” He kissed my forehead.

Title: I Need

Series: Enamorado Book 3

Author: Ella Fox

She’s single and not ready to mingle.

After the end of a months-long relationship with Mr. All Wrong, Emery Bellerose isn’t looking for love. In fact, it’s the farthest thing from her mind.

With the paparazzi camped outside of her house she has no choice but to stay next door with the new neighbors. That’s when Emery meets the man who makes her feel things she never knew she could.

He’s alone and wants to keep it that way.

Four years ago Spanish heartthrob Rafael Cruz’s life crashed and burned in a way he’s never recovered from. With his ability to trust obliterated he vowed to stay single and unattached forever.

But you know what they say about best-laid plans.

What’s supposed to be an uneventful family vacation in Malibu becomes a game changer thanks to Elvis, the meddling peacock no one realizes is playing matchmaker.

*****5 Utterly Fantastic Stars*****

Y’all I have to tell you something important, so come in nice and close. Sit down, make yourself comfortable, and listen up because there’s something you need to know: this book is utterly incredible. It will make you swoon something fierce, it’ll have you melting in your boots, and it’ll have your heart all aflutter with what you get with Rafe and Emery. From the very first page of this book, this story will steal your heart. It will own you in every way possible, and it’ll have you bursting with the amount of love that floods you for these characters.

Whether its the butterflies they give you, the heart meltingly moments that own you, or the moments that so magnificently envelop you within every ounce of what these two characters share, I Need will give you it all.

It will give you the feels, the heart, the feel of family and connection, and it’ll give you one helluva love story that will have you believing in the true power of love. It is no secret that I have loved this series. I Want and I Don’t were two of my favorite reads last year, so it’s easy to say that the entire Enamorado Series is one of my favorites. There is just something about this family, something about these Spanish alphas who fight for their hearts and their loves with all that they have, and something about the strong, dynamic and wonderful women they fall for that has me needing these books like I need my next breath.

What Ella Fox has created within these books is fantastic. This author knows how to write one helluva love story that will get your heart racing a bit faster, all while consuming you within the mesmerizing heat and connection her characters share. The way she allows you to be right in the thick of it with them, experiencing what it’s like to fall, what it’s like to meet that one person who changes everything, and what it’s like to be pulled into a love that is like a siren’s call is truly what sets these books apart. That and the fact that the characters of this world are amazing in every way, distinctive in a way that makes them each such an integral part of the story, and just so damn wonderful that you will never want to leave them.

Seriously. Trust me when I say you will never want to leave these characters. I just finished I Need and I am already going through withdrawals. I already miss Rafael and Emery. I already miss Elvis. I already miss this wonderful family that is loyal and generous and so kind. I already miss all the memorable moments they all share. I already miss what they each brought to this story and everything that unfolded. And I am already thinking about the next time that I will get to be with them.

That is how much I love them, that is how much I love this world and this series, and that is how much I love and cannot get enough of Ella Fox’s world.

I have read all of her books. I have devoured them, reread them, swooned and melted while reading them, and let me just tell you, they all just keep getting better and better. All of her characters are so easy to love, so easy to root for and fall for, and they all have this wonderful way about them that allows them to burrow themselves so deeply in your heart that you just can’t get enough.

I can’t get enough.

This series follows the sons of the Cruz family as they fall head over heels for the women that give them everything. I have loved every single book in this series, but I have to admit that after everything that was set up for Rafe’s story, I was especially excited to see what his book would bring. You see Rafe has been through so much, and after being betrayed by someone close to him he was shattered. It has taken years for him to put his pieces back together again, and the moment he comes face to face with Emery, is the moment he realizes everything has changed. This story follows the two of them as they fall fast and hard, as the gush over one amazing (and oh so handsome!) peacock, and as they realize that they might’ve just met the one missing piece that they needed.

To say this book made my heart happy is a complete understatement. It melted my heart into a puddle of glorious emotion, coupled with some serious swoon. Every page had me even more enamored with these characters and what they shared. Through Ella Fox’s incredible writing I was with them through every breath of this story, living it, experiencing it, and falling right along with those two. Their connection is on fire and it starts the second they meet, and every word of this story follows Rafe and Emery as they try to make sense of their feelings, as they share what they do, and as they see where the future might take them.

Their story was emotional, beautiful in a way that truly touched my heart, and it made me blush like nobody’s business because of the fire and spark those two share. It was like the fourth of July on crack y’all, and I was addicted. I was addicted to them, their story, and every moment of what they shared together. Every turn of that page in this book made me love them more, had me feeling and living more of their story, and showed me again and again how much they needed each other.

Rafe and Emery were just the best. They were real, they were honest, and they had their hearts on their sleeves. They had both been through so much in their lives, and I loved getting to be there with them as they connected and as they helped each other reach the places they both so deserved to be. I loved that Rafe was so thoughtful, so protective, and so darn endearing. I also could not resist that man and his Spanish sweet nothings that had me swooning left and right. Most of all, I loved that Rafe was such a good guy, with a heart of gold, fighting for what he and his heart wanted. I was just as smitten with Emery. I found her to be so relatable and sweet and genuine. I loved that she too had her heart on her sleeve and wasn’t afraid to feel what was consuming her. That girl was strong, honest, and beautiful inside and out, and I couldn’t have asked for someone better for Rafe.

(Did I mention the fact that his character really meant a lot to me, so the lady for him had to be special, and Emery completely fit that bill. Tenfold.)

And do not even get me started on my love for Elvis. That little peacock was a gem. The way he was his own character, with his own shining and distinctive personality, and the way he interacted with these characters was the best. He was the icing on top of the cake for an incredible story, and I loved him. So so much. I loved every moment he was in, and I have my fingers crossed that he will find his way into more of these books as this series continues.

To say I loved this book is not enough. It just doesn’t do this story what It deserves. This book took ahold of my heart in every way, it gave me two real and so easy to love characters, and it let me believe and feel and live and breathe every ounce of their love story as they gave it all a chance. What Emery and Rafe shared together made me believe in the power of love all over again, and I am practically counting down the minutes until I can get more of this series and more with all of these characters. I love them all so much, I am so invested in all of them, and I can’t wait to see where tis series will take them all!!!

This story was exactly what I needed and more. I couldn’t put it down once I started, and I never wanted it to end either. It melted me, touched every part of my heart, and had me swooning and loving every second of being with Emery and Rafe. If you read this book and this series, it’ll do the same for you. I promise. This book, this world, and what Ella Fox so magnificently gives you with these characters will have you believing in the all encompassing power of love. This book will make you need everything it so fantastically gives you, and in the end you will be deliriously happy that you jumped into with all that you have.

Trust me. There is no resisting Rafe and Emery, or Elvis for that matter. Their love will give you it all and then some, and I am telling you, you will love every second you get with them.

I know I did. So damn much.

“You’ve already got one peacock, Emery—there is no need for another. What you need is a man.”

The intensity in his gaze heated my blood. I bit my lip as I cocked my head to the side. “Are you applying for the job?” I asked.
“I am,” he said. Sitting up straight, he leaned in closer and slid his hand behind my neck.
There was a rightness to the way he held me, something I’d never known could be felt between two people. His hand cupping the back of my neck gave me all of the feels— as did the sensation of his warm breath against my lips as he hovered above me. His eyes stayed locked on mine as he held still, and I realized he was waiting for me to give him the green light. I nodded once, my stomach fluttering at the relieved smile he gave before he kissed me.
Obviously I’d been kissed before, but when Rafael was the one doing it I realized I’d never been kissed well. I’d never felt more treasured than I did with one of his hands at the back of my neck while the other cupped my cheek. I raised my hands to his shoulders, sliding one around the back of his neck as he deepened the kiss. The first touch of his tongue against mine was electric, so much more than I’d ever known the act of kissing could feel like.

The heat and taste of him was so incredible that I couldn’t contain a moan as his tongue glided against mine. I shifted forward in an effort to be closer to him as my right hand trailed from his shoulder to his abdomen. The fingers on my left hand were busy running through his silky hair and still, I wanted more contact. I tried to get closer but without stopping the kiss, there was no way— and I damn sure wasn’t stopping. Either he sensed my frustration or he felt the same because the next thing I knew he’d dropped his hands to my waist. He lifted me up and into his lap like I weighed nothing, then groaned low in his throat as our upper bodies connected.
