Review Post: The One Night Stand (Players #3) by Elizabeth Hayley

The One Night Stand by Elizabeth Hayley

Releasing 12/12/17

Gabriel Torres thought his life after Major League Baseball would be simple and quiet, or at least quieter. However, as he takes over running the exclusive Players Club, he finds himself continually embroiled in scandal and drama. Surely nothing, and no one could make his life any crazier…Right?

Rachel Adler is a blast from Gabe’s past who crashed back into his life with the finesse of a freight train. But she’s a welcome distraction. At least for a night.

Rachel has been working hard to become one of the top sports journalists in the country. She doesn’t have time for a long-term romance or irresistibly charming baseball players. A one-night-stand with the man who she knew would hit it out of the park was all she wanted.

But when she gets a tip that Gabe could have ties to one of the biggest sports stories in history, a story that could make her career, Rachel decides that maybe she has a little time for the sexy baseball player after all. As she gets in deeper with both her story and Gabe, Rachel begins to question who she is, what she wants, and what exactly she’s willing to sacrifice for her career.

Will the potential grand-slam romance be stopped short or will Rachel and Gabe be able to go the distance?

*****5 Fantastic Stars*****

I have loved and enjoyed all of Elizabeth Hayley’s Players novels so much. These books are the perfect sports romance. They’re funny as all get out, filled to the brim with distinctive and memorable characters, and they have each given me love stories that packed the perfect amount of heat and fun and feels. Elizabeth Hayley has delivered it all once again in the third installment of this series. They have once again created a story that was so easy to get swept into and that gave me it all.

The One Night stand is all about what happens when a blast from the past soon become more than either of these two characters bargained for.

This book follows Rachel and Gabe as they explore what they’re feeling for one another, as they try to figure out what in the world that means for them and their future, and as they try to figure out if the lies and secrets they keep to themselves are too much and too complicated. This book is full of moments that will make you laugh out loud, so many moments that will make you blush, and so many moments that will give you the best kind of glimpses at what these characters share and what could be.

Every word of this story made me fall even more in love with this series and the characters in it. Elizabeth Hayley brought this series to a close on the best note that had me knowing and feeling through every word and page why I loved it so much in the first place.

Equal parts sports romance, love story, laughs, feels, and humor and vibrancy, The One Night Stand delivers it all. It gives you Gabe and Rachel in the most authentic way that will pull you to them both, and in the end it delivers a story that will take ahold of you in the best way through every word. This book will make you laugh, it’ll make you smile, it’ll make you feel, and it’ll make you fall right along with Rachel and Gabe, and it just doesn’t get better than that.

What I loved about The One Night Stand:

  • Gabe’s humor and personality. Gabe has been a character that has been making me laugh at his humor and antics since the very start of this series. I was so beyond to finally get his story and to get into his head, and I was not disappointed one little bit in what I got with him. That man made me laugh, he made me fall something fierce, and I loved how he had this effervescent personality that I could not get enough of. He was the life of the party, but also a down to earth guy who just wanted to do something that made him happy. I loved that this book not only gave me the fun and vibrancy I’ve come to know and love about him, but also gave me a chance to see what was behind that humor. I saw the more serious Gabe, the one who had feelings and questions and worries, and that just pulled my heart to him even more. Suffice to say, getting his story was all I needed and it just made reading this book even more phenomenal.
  • Rachel’s journey to find herself. I absolutely loved Rachel’s character. I loved how real she was, I loved how she balanced out with Gabe so well, and I loved that this story really pushed her a bit. It pushed her to decide what she really wanted and who she wanted to be. It pushed her to admit what she was really feeling for Gabe, and it pushed her to decide what she was willing to fight for and to realize what she might need to let go of. Rachel was such an authentic character that I immediately liked and felt for. I felt so connected to her through every part of this story, and I loved getting to be with her as she tried to figure out what in the world she was going to do with her story, with her feelings for Gabe, and what that all meant. Elizabeth Hayley made her such a real and enjoyable character to get to know and understand, and that was just another thing that made this story so fantastic.
  • What starts as a fun that soon becomes so much more. Rachel and Gabe’s story starts with a blast from the past that leads to a one night stand that soon leads to something more than either of them were prepared for. Both of them had no idea that when they reconnected it would ignite a firestorm of feelings in them, and neither of them were prepared for how it would give them everything they never knew they needed, while also complicating everything. They both have secrets, they’re both holding back a part of themselves and trying to figure out how to handle everything that goes with what they’re hiding. Both Rachel and Gabe struggle through this book on what to do and what that might mean for the future they’re starting to build. Elizabeth Hayley perfectly captures and creates that dynamic and brings it to their story in a way that will have you engrossed in every word ready to see how it will all work out for them
  • The perfect amount of heat and humor and fun and seriousness. Elizabeth Hayley knows how to write some serious humor and some serious heat. The way that they write and craft their stories and characters never fails to have me laughing my butt off, while also giving me the best amount of feels to tug at my heart, all while creating a fire and connection that has me feeling it all with these characters. They always find the perfect balance of being playful and serious, humorous and serious, while throwing in that charm and vibrancy and fire to bring it all together in the most memorable way. Getting to experience that in The One Night Stand was fantastic. That was just part of what made this book so phenomenal, and what made it such an incredible read. Elizabeth Hayley’s writing and storytelling in this book checked off all the boxes and just made for a darn good book!
  • The best group of friends. I have said it before about this series and I will say it again, the distinctive and dynamic characters of these books make this series what it is. I loved getting back into that dynamic. I loved how it felt darn good to be back with all of these characters and I loved how Elizabeth Hayley let me catch up with the gang once again. Jace, Ben, and Gabe and their special lady friends made this series the fantastic thing that it is, and getting one last book with them all was everything I needed. It was fun, it was real, and it was them. Those three men gave me a story and series that was fun, charming, and full of life. And their three lady friends just made it even better to watch them all fall once more. The Player Series was just the best, and getting back with these memorable characters was the icing on top of a fantastic book and reading experience.

The One Night Stand was a book that blended sports, romance, humor, and the possibilities that can happen when you meet that one person who changes everything. This book was phenomenally written and gave me two characters who were memorable in every way. I loved getting to be a part of their story, getting to see they fall and feel what they did, and getting to experience what happened between them. Elizabeth Hayley once again crafted a story that was enjoyable in every way. This book was the perfect conclusion to this series and just had me loving everything I was reading.

Elizabeth Hayley continues to be a writing duo who gives me it all. They create such memorable characters and stories. They make me laugh with their humor they so authentically create. They allowed me to feel it all with their outstanding characters, and in the end they gave me a story that I just loved.

This book was an all around phenomenal read and I can’t say that enough. It was well written, it was consuming through every word, and it was everything I needed right now. It was a satisfying in every way, and I loved getting Rachel and Gabe’s story. I promise that those two will make you smile and laugh and feel it all, and you will love it!

Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands’ chagrin).

They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley’s writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: “I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind.”

A Steel Heart, an all-new sexy and emotional standalone from Amie Knight is LIVE!

A-Steel-Heart-PRINT-FOR-WEB

A Steel Heart by Amie Knight

Publishing Date: November 9th, 2017

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Five seconds.

A deafening blast. Pain. Silence.

That was all it took for an IED to end my life as I knew it. The man I was shattered in a hard wave of sound and debris that rained down on me like death itself.

And six months later, after waking up to an inescapable hell, I found myself wishing that death had found me.

Until her.

Miranda Jacobs swept into my life like a cool breeze on a smoldering day.

With her smart mouth and her ridiculous jokes, she brought me back to life one minute at a time.

Turned out time wasn’t on our side.

Five seconds.

Screams. Twisted metal. Silence.

And I’d lost it all again—only this time, I had no one to blame but myself.

                                                   *****5 UNFORGETTABLY EMOTIONAL STARS*****

Amie Knight is an author that I can always count on to create a book with some serious feels, with some serious heart, and with the most breathtaking emotion. Her books have all become some of my all-time favorites, so to say I was ready for more words from her is putting it lightly. I live for her books, her unforgettable words, and the dynamic and authentic characters she creates within the pages of her stories. Her books and stories and characters are exceptional in every way, and they have a way of leaving a lasting impression that you won’t soon forget.

A Steel Heart was another utterly phenomenal book by Amie Knight. This book wowed me. It owned me through and through. It gave me a story that I will never forget, and it gave me two characters that have permanently burrowed themselves into my heart. This book was everything. It was emotional and raw and intense. It was funny as hell and so charming and sweet. It was romantic and heart melting, just as much as it was all-feeling and heartbreaking. This book was raw and visceral and intense, and it was bursting with a love that I felt every lick of.

It is all of that and more that makes it one of the best books I have ever read.

A Steel Heart is a story of what happens when two completely opposite people are drawn to each other like moths to an all-consuming flame. They know they should stay away, they know it’s a little too dangerous for themselves and their hearts if they get too close, yet the more they try to fight it, the more they can’t help but get drawn into it more. What Holden and Miranda gave me in their story together was a journey filled with hurt and pain and so many soul breaking moments, yet in the same breath it was a story of love and healing that was bursting with moments that melted my heart again and again.

Amie Knight perfectly balanced creating an exceptional story that made me cry, that made me feel it all, that made me fall in love and believe in every word of what Miranda and Holden were sharing, and that in the end, showed me the true power and resiliency of faith, fight, determination, unyielding spirit, and of course, love.

WhatI loved about A Steel Heart:

  • Miranda and her charming self. Miranda Jacobs is one of the most fun, charming, and delightful characters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is the epitome of a glass half full kind of person, and that girl has a heart of gold. Between her selfless nature and how she takes care of those around her that girl was so beyond easy to connect to. I found her character to be so funny, so real, and someone who I could personally relate to on so many levels. The way Amie Knight brings out her distinctive voice, the way she gives you all the phenomenal nuances of Miranda from her list making to her worshiping of donuts to the way she stalks a certain neighbor of hers will have you LOVING her. That girl is all kinds of fun, all kinds of sweet, and your heart will go to her from start to finish as you read this book and as you’re with her as she falls for Holden. That girl is a breath of fresh air, a fruit loop in a bowl of cheerios, and one of my favorite characters, and I truly can’t say enough how much I loved her!
  • Holden’s emotional journey. Holden Steel is a man who has surrounded his heart, himself, and his mind in an invisible steel cage that is threatening to take away everything that is left of him. That man is hurting something fierce, and as he shows you that hurt, as he shows you his story, and as he shows you how he became the man he is, you will feel every breath of that. You will ache for him, you will hurt for him and all that he goes through in this book, and you will be there right along with him as he tries to find a way out. Holden’s story in A Steel Heart is emotional and raw and unforgettably heartbreaking at times, but it is oh so very real and oh so very Holden, and as much as it hurts you at times, you will LOVE every piece that you get with him. Amie Knight does an incredible job of taking a very real, emotional, and powerful subject matter, and bringing it to life in a way that is authentic, respectful, and honest. Holden will break you and make you and have you falling in love with his stubborn self in a heartbeat with what you get with him in this book.
  • A story that made me work for it in the best way. I will be completely honest and say that A Steel Heart is not an easy book at times. It is a book that push you and your emotions to the breaking point. This book will break you at times. It will hurt you, and it will have you hurting for what these characters go through together and separately. It will make you work for it and for them, and along the way it will push you and them to the emotional limits. Amie Knight thoughtfully crafts a story that is achingly real in a way that will give you every emotion under the sun, while delivering a powerful story of what happens when you fall, when you break, and when you find that one right person that makes getting up again beyond worth it. I LOVED how much this story made me feel and work for it. It was hard at times, intensely emotional and it hurt, but that level of emotion, that level of connection, and that level of breathtaking vulnerability with these characters was EVERYTHING. It is what made me love this book, and it is what seared me and my heart into everything I was reading.
  • A love story worth fighting for. While this story is emotional and raw and intense, the love and connection and fire that grows between Miranda and Holden will have you knowing through every word that it is all worth it. From the very memorable start you get with these two you will feel that something special about them. You will realize how right they are for each other, even though they couldn’t be more different. You will know in your heart of hearts that what they share is meant to be, even if it makes them fight and work for it and give it all they’ve got to experience it. You will feel what that love gives them, what it allows them to hope for, what it heals, what it mends, and you will feel what it does to them to experience that kind of life changing love and connection. Miranda and Holden certainly don’t have it easy, and they certainly know how to make you work for it, but in the same breath they exemplify what it means to have a love worth fighting for. The way Amie Knight so exceptionally creates and crafts that love and connection between them will have you believing in every ounce of what they share, invested in them so truly, and practically dying for it to all work out for them.
  • All the connection, charm, and humor.A Steel Heart is definitely a book packed with feels, but it is also a book that will make you laugh your ass off and smile like crazy at the antics, the personalities, and the humor of all of these amazing characters. I loved how this book made me laugh at the wonderful craziness that came out of these characters mouths, especially Miranda and Will. Don’t even get me started on how much I love that little boy! The charm and humor and vibrancy that came with these characters and this story added another fantastic layer to what I was reading that perfectly balanced with the emotional feels of it all. That coupled with the firework worthy connection between Holden and Miranda pulled me in even more to what I was reading, and made this an even more memorable read.
  • A world of characters I can’t get enough of. This book was bursting with a world of characters that I could not get enough of. Each of them were different and added another piece to this story that made it the phenomenal thing that it is. It was that world of characters and their vibrant personalities that pulled me in even more to this book. It was those characters that gave me the most delightful banter, some of the most memorable moments, and that made this book even more enjoyable to experience. The way they all came together, the way their friendships and relationships deepened what I was reading, and the way they all welcomed me with open arms made reading this book one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling reading experiences I have had in a long time.

A Steel Heart was a vivid, all-consuming, and utterly emotional story of loss, pain, and the steel you can build around yourself to keep others out. It is a story of what happens when you meet that one person who gives you the first bit of hope you’ve felt in so very long. It’s about what happens when you discover that what you’ve been missing, what you might’ve always needed, and what you can’t live without might just be right outside your doorstep. This book is a story about coming up for fresh air after struggling to breathe for so long, and about finding the fight and determination break through the toughest of steels.

This book delivers a poignant and unforgettable story that follows two characters as they see what could be between them, and as they fight for the future and the life and the love that they both so truly desire and deserve. Amie Knight exceptionally crafts a story that is powerful, that is authentic and meaningful through every word, and that tells an emotional story that I promise you won’t soon forget.

A Steel Heart will blow you away with its literal amazingness. Miranda and Holden will take ahold of your heart and all of your emotions as you experience their story, as you feel their love and connection, and as you journey with them as they fight like hell for the light and hope and love they both so desperately want to keep. Amie Knight does the most incredible job of bringing it all to life in a way that will simultaneously steal your breath, melt your heart, and touch your soul with what you get with these characters.

This book is hands down one of my top reads for the year, and it is a book I can’t recommend enough. Amie Knight has outdone herself with this one, and I for one am already counting down the days until I can get more of her words! If you are looking for a book and a story and two characters that will own you in every way possible, while giving you one helluva extraordinary love story, then run yourself to this book this very second. It would be wrong not to. Trust me.

And let me tell you, what you get within the pages of this book, what you feel and experience and live and breathe with Miranda and Holden will stay with you forever because that is how outstanding and truly amazing their story, their connection, and their love is.

Excerpt:

“What are you doing today?” my friend Ainsley asked through the cell phone that was pressed to my ear with my shoulder. My hands were busy holding open a piece of the blinds so I could look out the front window.

I gave her a distracted answer. “You know, the usual. Edits and whatnot.” I tilted my head to the side to get a better view out the window and almost dropped the phone. Holy hotness.

“Why do you sound like that?”

“Like what?”

“Distracted.” Ainsley sucked in a breath. “Oh my God. It’s nine a.m. Are you neighbor stalking again?”

I snapped the blinds closed and backed away from the window. “No. Of course not. Why would I do that?”

“You told me you weren’t going to do that anymore.”

I thought we’d already established I was a liar.

I stepped back toward the window because I couldn’t help myself, obviously a glutton for freaking punishment. But this was the only time of day I saw him besides when he left in his big, black truck at three in the afternoon on the dot, and I didn’t want to miss a thing. I cradled the phone with my shoulder again, pushed the blinds apart with my hands, and pressed my face to the windowpane like the creepy stalker I was. And there he was. Every gorgeous inch of him.

He walked toward my building from across the busy downtown street like a tall glass of water on a hot day. All swagger and supreme male beauty. The kind of beauty that made a girl’s breath catch and heart pitter-patter. He pushed his dark hair off his tan forehead and the big muscles in his arms bunched.

Goosebumps broke out on my skin and I may have whispered, “Christ on a cracker.” I didn’t know his name, but I knew his schedule like the back of my hand. That wasn’t weird at all.

“You’re a terrible liar.” She giggled. “What’s he wearing today?”

I barely heard Ainsley. Every morning when I watched this man walk down the street and toward our building, it was like just he and I existed. Slow motion. Our own sexy theme music. Nameless, ridiculously hot man and Miranda. He didn’t know it, but there was a world of our own and it was the absolute best part of my day.

“Sunglasses. White, tight, sleeveless T-shirt. Black running pants with three white stripes down the sides. Black tennis shoes,” I said breathlessly into the phone. I left out all the good bits. Like the scowl he was wearing. It was perpetual. I’d never seen the man smile in the month he’d been living next door to me and for some reason that made me all the hotter for him. He owned that scowl. He freaking rocked it. His jaw was square and clean-shaven. His mouth flat. He was a giant of a man. Well over six feet. His chest was wide, his arms thick and imposing. Dog tags jangled from a silver necklace around his neck, letting me know he was military of some sort. I’d never seen his eyes, but I knew they were going to be stunning. Everything about him was. Not even the slight limp in his gait as he made his way across the street took away from his godlike beauty. I could’ve eaten him with a spoon.

So let’s talk about how much I loved Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe. This book was engrossing, it was unputdownable, and it was a book that I loved every single word of! This book owned me from start to finish. It owned me through every word, through every page, and through every heated and visceral moment that I got within it. What Lauren Rowe so exceptionally created in this book made me blush, made me feel it all with Lucas and Abby, and had me just basking in every single word that I got with them.

Lauren Rowe completely gave me it all in this book. She gave me a rock star romance that coupled music and heat and fire and a vibrancy that was practically tangible in this book. She gave me a story that took ahold of me in every way possible, and became something I NEEDED in my life. She created characters that were dynamic, enjoyable, real and relatable, yet every fantasy you need all in one. She created a book that blew me away at every turn, and I literally do not have enough words to describe how much I loved it and how much I enjoyed it.

Misadventures on the Night Shift follows Abby as she comes face to face with the living legend, Lucas Ford. He was her teenage heartthrob and crush, a rock star god who she can’t help but be star struck by, and now he’s got a proposition for her that she knows she should say no to, yet she can’t help but want to scream yes to. This book follows Abby and Lucas over their week in Penthouse A, as he tried to write the album of his life, as she tries to figure out if she can keep up in the game they’re playing, and as they both discover that what might’ve started as a little bit of heated fun, is so much more than they bargained for.

Lauren Rowe made Abby and Lucas’s characters so easy to love and connect to. They were both real and vibrant, and I loved that even thought this is a novella, I got so much development and story with both of their characters. I saw them grow and evolve and change. I got to be there with them through the highs and lows, through all the fire they shared, and through the moments that almost broke them. I got it all with them, and that is just part of what made me love and adore their characters so much!

This book was all kinds of fun, it was all kinds of colorful and vibrant, and it had this tangible heat and spark through every page of it that brought every word of what I was reading to life in the most exceptional way! Lauren Rowe’s writing was a complete delight, and this book has me all the more eager to read more of her books and to get more of her fabulous writing. I need more of her words in my life!

Misadventures on the Night Shift was a fun, enjoyable, and seriously heated read which delivered it all! This book was the perfect quick read that gave me two characters with an off the charts level of chemistry, a connection that just wouldn’t quit, and a story that I could not put down from start to finish. I loved every word of it, and I cannot recommend it enough!

This was a fanfreakingtastic book and you will love it! Trust. Me. Lucas and Abby will give you it all and then some, and you will be beyond satisfied with it all!

Review Post: The Proposition (Players #2) by Elizabeth Hayely

Professional hockey player Ben Williamson doesn’t quite know how he got himself into this situation; hiring someone to be his date to his brother’s wedding is way out of character for him. But with family pressuring him to settle down, going stag just isn’t an option. It would just be one more thing his polite, cultured family uses as ammo against him.

Ryan Cruz is having a bad day. Wait, make that a bad year. Broke, technically homeless, and living on a friend’s couch, she’s now also unemployed after her sharp tongue gets her fired from her job. So when a handsome stranger approaches her out of the blue with a proposition–he’ll pay her to be his date to his brother’s wedding for the weekend–accepting his offer is a no brainer. She needs the cash and figures it wouldn’t be in the best interest of a professional athlete to murder her.

What starts as a simple business arrangement soon becomes more as these opposites attract and get caught up in the wedding magic. Will Ben and Ryan be able to turn their relationship into something more? Or is love based on a proposition too much of an obstacle to overcome?

*****5 Fantastic Stars*****

Elizabeth Hayley continues to be a writing duo that I can always count on to create a phenomenal story that will make me laugh, that will deliver me with dynamic characters to love, and that will give me a fantastic reading experience. Their Players Series has delivered all of that and more, and I was beyond excited to get back with Gabe, Jace, and Ben as it was Ben’s turn to find the one woman who would change everything. With everything I love about a sports romance perfectly woven together with an enrapturing romance, The Proposition was the exact book I needed to read right now.

It was a book that felt good to read through every page, it was a book that had me loving what I was getting with these characters, and it was a book that delivered an extremely enjoyable story with so much fire, connection, and vibrancy through every word.

Elizabeth Hayley once again delivered a book that made me laugh, that made me smile something fierce, that gave me real characters that equally made me swoon while being completely believable, all while crafting a story that was enjoyable through every turn of the page. What I love about this series is how it perfectly couples so much together. It gives you a sports romance and what it means to be with a professional athlete, it gives you an authentic love story between two seemingly opposite characters, and it gives you a story that manages to be light and so very engaging and so easy to connect to.

The Proposition was another fantastic and fun addition to this series, and it has me all kinds of excited to get more time with all of these characters and to see where the next book will take them all.

What I loved about The Proposition:

  • Ben’s genuine sweetness. Ben was a character that completely melted me from the start. What I loved about his character was that he was this tough hockey player with a heart of gold. He was strong, yet sensitive. He was real, yet had this allure that made me want him and love him even more. He was sweet and genuine and kind, and he thought of others, which practically made me molten lava in his hands. He was also so easy to root for through this story because I felt so much for what I got with him and his story. The way that Elizabeth Hayley makes him a man that will simultaneously turn you on, while also stealing your heart made him the best in my eyes. He also made me swoon something fierce, and even though he isn’t perfect, he was pretty much golden in this book with what I got with him.
  • The chutzpah of Ryan. Ryan had some serious fire and gumption to her. She was a girl who wasn’t afraid to take a chance, to put it all in, and to just go with it. I loved that about her, and I loved how she was a character who wasn’t afraid to risk it all. I really respected that about her, and I especially respected that after learning her backstory and all that that girl had gone through in her life. Elizabeth Hayley does the most fantastic job of letting you know how she became the woman she is in the present of this book, how she found herself the escort to a professional hockey player, and how she ended up feeling what she did. Ryan was real, vibrant, and just so easy to connect to, and that is just part of what made her such an outstanding female character to love and root for.
  • A proposition no one will soon forget. The overall premise of this story follows Ben and Ryan, two opposites, who find themselves in the middle of a proposition to help each other out. He needs a date to his brother’s wedding, and she needs a job stat in order to stay above water. What ensues between them over the course of this story is more than either of them bargained for. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts, what they start to feel for one another soon becomes more real than either of them were prepared for, and the more this story progresses, the more they both start to question what this proposition of theirs got them into. I loved the story itself, and I found it to be so enjoyable, consuming in a very real way, and something that just gave me so much to love.
  • The gangs all here. One of my favorite parts of this series is getting to be back with the fantastic and funny as all get out characters that make up this world. The banter and friendship between Gabe, Ben and Jace is the absolute best. Those three crack me up so much, and I loved getting every single moment with them was I read this book. The three of them made me cry I was laughing so hard, and through it all I so completely felt how they were all there for each other, and how they would do whatever it took to be there for one another. I loved how Elizabeth Hayley perfectly balanced giving me that as I read this book. Not to be outdone, Camille’s character was a gem too. That girl had me dying laughing just as much as I was with the guys, and the way her humor and one liners added to what I got in this book was fantastic. The supporting characters of this series just made reading this book even more fun and enjoyable, and it added to everything I got with these characters in this story.
  • The laughs and the heat and the way they give you it all. Elizabeth Hayley perfectly balanced giving me so many moments that had me laughing in the most memorable way, while also creating the fieriest heat between Ben and Ryan. The way their writing brought it all to life, the way they perfectly balanced making me blush, making me laugh, and making me feel every breath of connection and fire these characters shared for one another is just one more thing that had me loving every word of what I was reading. Elizabeth Hayley found a way to deliver it all in this book to create such an outstanding read. The way they so seamlessly weave all of that together had me in every word of what I was reading, had me living every fantastic word, and had me just eating up every moment I could get with these characters.

The Proposition was another phenomenal addition to this series. It was a book about what happens when you meet that one person you never expected in the craziest of situations. It is a story of two people who would never have met normally, but can’t seem to fight the intense connection they share, no matter how many boundaries they try to put in place. What you get with Ben and Ryan in this story will give you the two of them, will give you their proposition and all its consequences, and in the end, will give you one helluva love story.

This book gave me it all. It had the humor, the heat that made me blush and melt, and it had the vibrant characters that made this a memorable and overall enjoyable story that I loved. I have loved getting more of this series, and this book has me even more eager for Gabe’s book to see what this series will bring all of these characters next.

If you are looking for a phenomenally written book, with dynamic and memorable characters, then do yourself a favor and run yourself to this book this very second!

***EXCERPT***

“All right, all right,” Gabe said. “I’ll be serious and help you.”

“Thank you,” Ben said, happy he had the support of both his best friends. The three had been practically inseparable since they’d met in college and roomed in the athletic dorm. All three had been lucky enough to play professionally, Gabe as a shortstop for Philadelphia and Jace as a quarterback for New Jersey. His friends’ close proximity to one another was the reason Ben chose to get an apartment in Philly and spend his time here in the off-season. “I knew you were kidding when you mentioned the bet, but–”

“I wasn’t kidding. I have an idea that might work.”

“No,” Ben said sternly.

“Didn’t you learn anything from me, Torres?” Jace asked Gabe. Now that the bet they’d made last summer was behind them, they could all joke about it. But a year ago, it would have been a different story. Jace had nearly lost Aly when the three friends had competed to see who could bring the hottest date to an awards ceremony. Jace had unexpectedly fallen hard for the beautiful doctor, but all of that had almost crumbled when she’d learned he’d initially asked her out because of a bet.

“Okay, I get why doing a bet again would be a bad idea, but I do think that finding some arm candy as a distraction is a solid plan. A buddy of mine brought some chick he met at an airport to his parents’ anniversary party, and everyone thought they’d been dating for months.”

Ben was skeptical. “Like a fake girlfriend? There’s no way that’ll work.”

“I don’t know, man,” Gabe said. “It might. The secret to a good lie is you gotta believe it yourself.”

“You’re so wise,” Ben said flatly.

“I’m serious,” said Gabe. “The chick I was telling you about ended up getting my buddy’s grandmother’s crab cake recipe, and that shit’s for family only.”

“Just to make sure I’m understanding you right, I should believe you because of a crab cake recipe?”

Jace raised his eyebrows at Ben and Gabe. “It’s actually not a bad idea.”

Ben rolled his eyes. “Not you too.”

“You got any better ideas?” Jace asked. When Ben was silent, Jace continued. “I didn’t think so. There’s a decent chance this could work. We just need to figure out who to get to pretend to be your girlfriend. You’re gonna be up there for a few days.”

Ben rubbed a hand over his forehead in frustration. “I don’t know. Fuck. No one’ll want to spend that much time with my family. A few hours with them is more than enough.”

“She doesn’t have to want to spend time with them,” Gabe said, a look in his eyes that told Ben he was up to something Ben was probably going to want no part of.

“Should I even ask what you’re talking about?” Ben said.

“Probably,” Gabe said. “Because I have the answer to your problem.”

Ben looked at him expectantly, but when he realized that wasn’t enough, he said, “Fine, you’re really gonna make me ask, aren’t you? Why doesn’t it matter if she doesn’t want to be there?”

A smile spread across Gabe’s face. “Because you’re gonna pay her,” he said simply.

“Like a prostitute?” Ben replied.

“Not a prostitute,” Gabe said. “An escort.”

*****5 All-Consuming Stars*****

Misadventures of the First Daughter was a perfect, steamy, and fully enjoyable read by Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild. I have loved each and every one of the books in this incredible series, but none of them have owned me quite as much as this book did. From the very first pages of the story, I was swept up into the all consuming fire storm of connection that was exploding between Zane and Charlotte. Everything I got with those two is something I won’t soon forget. It was bursting with fire, lac Misadventures of the First Daughter was a perfect, steamy, and fully enjoyable read by Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild. I have loved each and every one of the books in this incredible series, but none of them have owned me quite as much as this book did. From the very first pages of the story, I was swept up into the all consuming fire storm of connection that was exploding between Zane and Charlotte. Everything I got with those two is something I won’t soon forget. It was bursting with fire, laced with some very real feelings, and every new page that I got with them both just made me love what I was reading even more.

This book made me blush, it melted my heart again and again, and it showed what can happen when two people who are not supposed to be together, can’t seem to fight what they feel and what they share. Every word of this story engrossed me more in everything they were sharing, and invested me wholeheartedly in the fire, in the heat, and in the wholly real connection they shared together. What I got with Charlotte and Zane as I read this book gave me at all. It gave me them, they gave me the very real feelings they shared, and it gave me every bit of drama and action and suspense and romance and fire along the way.

What I loved about this book is that it gave me a couple that should not be together, yet still could not help but feel and give into what was sparking between them. This book and it’s events pushed them, their limits, and their hearts, and it pushed all of mine right along with theirs in the most amazing way. The way that Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild bring this story to life will have you living and experiencing and relishing in every word you get with them. You will be with them through all of the twists and turns, you will be with them as that fire and that steam turns into something more than either of them bargained for, and you will be with them as they see what could be.

Charlotte and Zane were the absolute best. I loved how real they felt, I loved how protective he was, I loved how she pushed his buttons every chance that she got, and I love that everything between them felt right even when the world and those around them said it wasn’t. Charlotte and Zane were such dynamic characters that completely stole my heart from the very first pages of this book. Those two gave me it all along the way as I read this book, and I loved getting to know them and getting to discover and experience the depth of what they shared as the story unfolded. Meredith Wild and Mia Michelle created their characters in a way that made them authentic, made them so easy to love in every way, and in a way that made the connection and fire they shared tangible. I loved every moment of getting to experience that while reading this book, and it was just another thing that made this a phenomenal read.

Misadventures of the First Daughter was another outstanding addition to the series. It was outstandingly written, it had two characters that were real, genuine and honest, and so easy to love and root for, and it had a story that I could not put down from start to finish! This book had it all, and it perfectly well together a story of heat and fire, suspense and action, all while giving me a love story that hit my heart and other parts of me in the best way!

I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s probably my favorite of the series so far, and it makes me eager even more to get more of the series, and more of these authors’ exceptional writing! Misadventures of the First Daughter will not disappoint you one little bit, so do yourself a favor and run yourself to it this instant!

~Excerpt~

Ryan heard a “Ben, go after her” from behind her as she hurried toward the door. She thought his mother had said it, but she couldn’t be sure. Her ears were too busy ringing with the force she was exerting to hold back her tears.

She’d made it to the driveway before she heard Ben call her name. She ignored him as she made her way to the rental car.

He caught up to her right as she reached it. “Ryan,” he breathed.

She turned toward him and held out her hand. “Keys.”

“What?” he asked, looking flustered.

“Give me the keys, Ben.”

“No, let me . . . let me take you back. We can talk and—”

“I have nothing to say to you. And I’m sure as hell not getting in a car with you.”

“Ryan, please let me explain.”

“You have. I got the message pretty clearly inside. Seems like everyone else did too. It was quite a show.”

Ben ran a hand over his head. “I didn’t mean to say that. It just came out. I was angry, and—”

“Jesus Christ, Ben! Stop. You’re not an eighteen-year-old kid anymore. You can’t use your anger as an excuse for saying shitty things. Besides, it’s not like you didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.” Ryan shrugged. “They know the truth about me, and I know where I stand with you. It was for the best.”

“That’s not . . . that’s not where you stand with me. You’re more than that.”

Ryan laughed humorlessly. “No, I’m not. I’m not even that actually. All I am is an out-of-work waitress who was desperate enough to let some guy think she was an escort.”

The startled look on Ben’s face would’ve been comical if it wasn’t for the fact that Ryan was pretty sure she’d never laugh for real ever again. “Wait, you’re not an escort?”

“Well, I mean, I guess I am now. Thanks for that resume builder, by the way. But before I met you? No. I was just some girl trying to figure out how she was going to make ends meet after I quit waitressing at a crappy strip club. And then you barged into my life and offered me a better alternative. So I took it.” Ryan had managed to keep her emotions in check, but time was running out on that. “But now it’s over. So give me the keys.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Ben pulled the keys out of his pocket, but he toyed with them instead of handing them over. “I don’t want it to be over,” he said softly.

“Well, it really doesn’t matter what you want. There’s no coming back from that. We both know it.”

“I don’t know that.”

She sighed. “Then I guess you never really knew me at all.”
