Review Post: I Need (Enamorado #3) by Ella Fox

Title: I Need

Series: Enamorado Book 3

Author: Ella Fox

Genre: Contemporary (standalone)

Release Date: March 18, 2018

She’s single and not ready to mingle.

After the end of a months-long relationship with Mr. All Wrong, Emery Bellerose isn’t looking for love. In fact, it’s the farthest thing from her mind.

With the paparazzi camped outside of her house she has no choice but to stay next door with the new neighbors. That’s when Emery meets the man who makes her feel things she never knew she could.

He’s alone and wants to keep it that way.

Four years ago Spanish heartthrob Rafael Cruz’s life crashed and burned in a way he’s never recovered from. With his ability to trust obliterated he vowed to stay single and unattached forever.

But you know what they say about best-laid plans.

What’s supposed to be an uneventful family vacation in Malibu becomes a game changer thanks to Elvis, the meddling peacock no one realizes is playing matchmaker.

*****5 Utterly Fantastic Stars*****

Y’all I have to tell you something important, so come in nice and close. Sit down, make yourself comfortable, and listen up because there’s something you need to know: this book is utterly incredible. It will make you swoon something fierce, it’ll have you melting in your boots, and it’ll have your heart all aflutter with what you get with Rafe and Emery. From the very first page of this book, this story will steal your heart. It will own you in every way possible, and it’ll have you bursting with the amount of love that floods you for these characters.

Whether its the butterflies they give you, the heart meltingly moments that own you, or the moments that so magnificently envelop you within every ounce of what these two characters share, I Need will give you it all.

It will give you the feels, the heart, the feel of family and connection, and it’ll give you one helluva love story that will have you believing in the true power of love. It is no secret that I have loved this series. I Want and I Don’t were two of my favorite reads last year, so it’s easy to say that the entire Enamorado Series is one of my favorites. There is just something about this family, something about these Spanish alphas who fight for their hearts and their loves with all that they have, and something about the strong, dynamic and wonderful women they fall for that has me needing these books like I need my next breath.

What Ella Fox has created within these books is fantastic. This author knows how to write one helluva love story that will get your heart racing a bit faster, all while consuming you within the mesmerizing heat and connection her characters share. The way she allows you to be right in the thick of it with them, experiencing what it’s like to fall, what it’s like to meet that one person who changes everything, and what it’s like to be pulled into a love that is like a siren’s call is truly what sets these books apart. That and the fact that the characters of this world are amazing in every way, distinctive in a way that makes them each such an integral part of the story, and just so damn wonderful that you will never want to leave them.

Seriously. Trust me when I say you will never want to leave these characters. I just finished I Need and I am already going through withdrawals. I already miss Rafael and Emery. I already miss Elvis. I already miss this wonderful family that is loyal and generous and so kind. I already miss all the memorable moments they all share. I already miss what they each brought to this story and everything that unfolded. And I am already thinking about the next time that I will get to be with them.

That is how much I love them, that is how much I love this world and this series, and that is how much I love and cannot get enough of Ella Fox’s world.

I have read all of her books. I have devoured them, reread them, swooned and melted while reading them, and let me just tell you, they all just keep getting better and better. All of her characters are so easy to love, so easy to root for and fall for, and they all have this wonderful way about them that allows them to burrow themselves so deeply in your heart that you just can’t get enough.

I can’t get enough.

This series follows the sons of the Cruz family as they fall head over heels for the women that give them everything. I have loved every single book in this series, but I have to admit that after everything that was set up for Rafe’s story, I was especially excited to see what his book would bring. You see Rafe has been through so much, and after being betrayed by someone close to him he was shattered. It has taken years for him to put his pieces back together again, and the moment he comes face to face with Emery, is the moment he realizes everything has changed. This story follows the two of them as they fall fast and hard, as the gush over one amazing (and oh so handsome!) peacock, and as they realize that they might’ve just met the one missing piece that they needed.

To say this book made my heart happy is a complete understatement. It melted my heart into a puddle of glorious emotion, coupled with some serious swoon. Every page had me even more enamored with these characters and what they shared. Through Ella Fox’s incredible writing I was with them through every breath of this story, living it, experiencing it, and falling right along with those two. Their connection is on fire and it starts the second they meet, and every word of this story follows Rafe and Emery as they try to make sense of their feelings, as they share what they do, and as they see where the future might take them.

Their story was emotional, beautiful in a way that truly touched my heart, and it made me blush like nobody’s business because of the fire and spark those two share. It was like the fourth of July on crack y’all, and I was addicted. I was addicted to them, their story, and every moment of what they shared together. Every turn of that page in this book made me love them more, had me feeling and living more of their story, and showed me again and again how much they needed each other.

Rafe and Emery were just the best. They were real, they were honest, and they had their hearts on their sleeves. They had both been through so much in their lives, and I loved getting to be there with them as they connected and as they helped each other reach the places they both so deserved to be. I loved that Rafe was so thoughtful, so protective, and so darn endearing. I also could not resist that man and his Spanish sweet nothings that had me swooning left and right. Most of all, I loved that Rafe was such a good guy, with a heart of gold, fighting for what he and his heart wanted. I was just as smitten with Emery. I found her to be so relatable and sweet and genuine. I loved that she too had her heart on her sleeve and wasn’t afraid to feel what was consuming her. That girl was strong, honest, and beautiful inside and out, and I couldn’t have asked for someone better for Rafe.

(Did I mention the fact that his character really meant a lot to me, so the lady for him had to be special, and Emery completely fit that bill. Tenfold.)

And do not even get me started on my love for Elvis. That little peacock was a gem. The way he was his own character, with his own shining and distinctive personality, and the way he interacted with these characters was the best. He was the icing on top of the cake for an incredible story, and I loved him. So so much. I loved every moment he was in, and I have my fingers crossed that he will find his way into more of these books as this series continues.

To say I loved this book is not enough. It just doesn’t do this story what It deserves. This book took ahold of my heart in every way, it gave me two real and so easy to love characters, and it let me believe and feel and live and breathe every ounce of their love story as they gave it all a chance. What Emery and Rafe shared together made me believe in the power of love all over again, and I am practically counting down the minutes until I can get more of this series and more with all of these characters. I love them all so much, I am so invested in all of them, and I can’t wait to see where tis series will take them all!!!

This story was exactly what I needed and more. I couldn’t put it down once I started, and I never wanted it to end either. It melted me, touched every part of my heart, and had me swooning and loving every second of being with Emery and Rafe. If you read this book and this series, it’ll do the same for you. I promise. This book, this world, and what Ella Fox so magnificently gives you with these characters will have you believing in the all encompassing power of love. This book will make you need everything it so fantastically gives you, and in the end you will be deliriously happy that you jumped into with all that you have.

Trust me. There is no resisting Rafe and Emery, or Elvis for that matter. Their love will give you it all and then some, and I am telling you, you will love every second you get with them.

I know I did. So damn much.

“You’ve already got one peacock, Emery—there is no need for another. What you need is a man.”

The intensity in his gaze heated my blood. I bit my lip as I cocked my head to the side. “Are you applying for the job?” I asked.
“I am,” he said. Sitting up straight, he leaned in closer and slid his hand behind my neck.
There was a rightness to the way he held me, something I’d never known could be felt between two people. His hand cupping the back of my neck gave me all of the feels— as did the sensation of his warm breath against my lips as he hovered above me. His eyes stayed locked on mine as he held still, and I realized he was waiting for me to give him the green light. I nodded once, my stomach fluttering at the relieved smile he gave before he kissed me.
Obviously I’d been kissed before, but when Rafael was the one doing it I realized I’d never been kissed well. I’d never felt more treasured than I did with one of his hands at the back of my neck while the other cupped my cheek. I raised my hands to his shoulders, sliding one around the back of his neck as he deepened the kiss. The first touch of his tongue against mine was electric, so much more than I’d ever known the act of kissing could feel like.

The heat and taste of him was so incredible that I couldn’t contain a moan as his tongue glided against mine. I shifted forward in an effort to be closer to him as my right hand trailed from his shoulder to his abdomen. The fingers on my left hand were busy running through his silky hair and still, I wanted more contact. I tried to get closer but without stopping the kiss, there was no way— and I damn sure wasn’t stopping. Either he sensed my frustration or he felt the same because the next thing I knew he’d dropped his hands to my waist. He lifted me up and into his lap like I weighed nothing, then groaned low in his throat as our upper bodies connected.

Goodreads

*****5 Unforgettably Emotional Stars*****

Two years ago I read a book that broke the mold. It was a book that owned every single emotion I had. It was a book that wowed me on every single level possible. It was a book that has stuck with me over the years and has owned a piece of my heart since that first time I read it.

It was a book that changed everything.

That book was Live Me, the first book in this beautifully breathtaking series by Celeste Grande.

It was in that book that I fell heart first into a love story that was so intensely raw, so heartbreakingly real and emotional, and so completely unforgettable. Live Me started my unadulterated love with Blake and Eva, their love story, and everything those two shared together. It was that book that seared me to them in every way possible, and it was that book that had me reeling with so much need to know what would happen next for them.

I can still remember reading the end of that book, with a heart that was bursting with so much emotion and feeling for these characters. I’m also about 102% positive I was crying when I finished that book. I can remember where I was when I reached the end, what was going through me as I read those last words, and I can remember knowing with every fiber of my being that I would never forget what I had just read and what I had experienced with Blake and Eva.

Their story let my heart and my mind and my soul on the edge of it all at the end of Live Me, so to say I was ready for the conclusion to their story was the understatement of the century. I needed more of them like I needed my next breath. I needed them to heal, I needed them to fix what was broken and what had torn them apart, I needed them to be okay.

I needed them to live. I needed them to breathe. I needed them to love. And feel. And hope. And believe in each other and in themselves again.

The start of Breathe You picks up right after the events of Live Me. It finds Eva breaking into pieces after everything that she has been through, and after having broken up with Blake, the other piece to her heart. Trying to protect him from the demons that have swarmed her in more ways than one, she pushes him away, breaking them both even more in the process. She is heartbroken and shattered, he is reeling and doesn’t know what to do, and they are both so lost as to which way is up. The events of this book follow Eva and Blake as they not only see what a second chance together could bring the two of them, but as they both try to heal from the pain and anguish they’ve experienced.

This book is their fight. Their fight for their lives, for their hearts, and for their futures. It’s their second chance at the love neither of them can forget. It’s their hearts on the line, laying it all out there for the other to see. It’s their story of healing, of living, and breathing.

I don’t want to tell you much more of the plot of this story because I would never want to take away a single ounce of what this book will give you with Blake and Eva. But what I will tell you is be prepared for one helluva emotional ride. This book will break you. It will shatter you and it will have you feeling your heart in your throat more times than you can count. In fact I’m pretty sure I read most of this book with my heart aching and bursting with the level of breathtaking emotion it had. There were so many moments in this book that took my breath away. Literally. Where my heart stopped, where my breath caught, and where I was so transfixed and consumed in what these characters were feeling and sharing.

And you know what?! I LOVED that. I loved that I FELT and BREATHED and LIVED every exceptional word of this book. I loved that this book owned me mind, body, and soul from start to finish. I loved that this book made me cry and made me feel like I was breaking right along with its characters. I loved that this book and this author’s phenomenal words put me in every breath of what I was reading.

I loved all of that because that showed me how much I was in this book, how much I was invested in these characters and what they shared, and it exemplified to me how exceptional Celeste Grande’s writing is that she gave me all of that.

And so much more.

If you have read Live Me, then you know that Blake and Eva share a world of emotion and connection and love with one another. Their love is on a whole other level. And I do not say that lightly. Their love is so deep, so honest, and so heartfelt. Experiencing that love is something I will never forget, and experiencing what happened when that love was tested in this book is something I will never forget either.

Those two certainly put me and my heart through the emotional wringer in this book.

They shattered me at times, broke me more at others, and showed me what it was like to feel like you didn’t know how you would go on or how you would stand back up again or how you could give it all another go…yet there they both were, trying and fighting and giving it all they had, even when they had the weight of everything on top of them. The both had their worries and fears and doubts that held them back. They both felt so much anguish at times that made them wonder if a second chance was really possible. It was those moments that were so real and so beyond authentic.

Celeste Grande allows you to completely understand where all of their thoughts and reactions and hesitancies come from. She allows you to get them, to get their hearts and their minds, and she allows you the most spectacular level of understanding with them that will show you exactly why things went the way they did at the end of Live me, and why they go the way that they do in this book. You will understand what holds them back, what pushes them forward, what gives them hope, what threatens to break them, and what has them both thinking that walking away could be the better option.

You will get it ALL with them. Every emotional high and low, every heart rendering twist and turn, every moment that will have your breath catching right along with theirs as they see if a second chance is possible and as they give it all the fight of their lives.

To say I loved this book is putting it too mildly. To say I lived and breathed and felt it all while within its exceptional pages is not doing Celeste Grande’s writing the justice it deserves. This book was everything. EVERYTHING. It was emotional, raw, intense, consuming on every level. It was heartbreaking and healing and perfect. It was everything I needed, and everything I didn’t even know I needed for Blake and Eva, and it was the most fitting conclusion I could’ve ever asked for for their story.

Celeste Grande is an amazing author. She has a serious talent and you can tell that she poured her soul into this book and into these characters. Her thoughtful crafting of this book, the way she tackles so many tough issues in such an authentic and fitting way, and the way she makes it all mean so much is a true testament to the writing and storytelling talent that she is. She has such a way with words and such a way with emotion that connects you on a soul deep level to these characters. She sears you to them, she binds your heart to their and she shows you what their lives and their hearts and their souls are like. She lets you get her characters, she lets you live this book with them, and she lets you be there through thick and thin with them as they fight for their friendships, their lives, and their loves.

I literally cannot tell you enough how exceptional her words are in this book, and what those words will give you with Blake and Eva. What she gave me in this book is something I don’t have the right amount of positive adjectives to describe, and let me tell you now that my words will in no way encapsulate the enormity of what she so beautifully gives you in Breathe You. My words just aren’t good enough to capture everything this book and her writing gives you.

The way she so caringly and thoughtfully gave me these characters, and how she interspersed their points of view and their moments in a way that complimented and amplified everything in this book was exceptional. She made music its own main character in this book, which pulled me in even more than I thought possible to what I was reading and to what these characters were feeling and sharing together. She showed me what it was like to be broken, what it was like to feel shattered and like there was no light at the end of that tunnel, yet in those same pages and in those same moments with Blake and Eva she showed me hope and fire and strength.

She showed me what it meant to live, what it meant to breathe, what it meant to fight and give it your all, even when it all feels so insurmountable.

She showed me what it means when your broken pieces match someone else’s broken pieces.

She showed me what it means to put yourself back together again after breaking more than you thought humanly possible.

She showed me what it means to have honest to goodness love in your heart, and how that love can give you the world if you let it.

She showed me what it means to live. She showed me what it means to breathe. She showed me what it means to love. What it means to love with your whole heart, right on your sleeve, ready to see what could be.

She showed me it all. Every heart stopping, heart melting, soul touching, breathtakingly emotional moment. She showed me every single bit, and I will never forget it.

Breathe You is one of the best books I have EVER read. It was a book that consumed every single part of me from beginning to end, and it is a story with unbridled and breathtaking emotion that will sweep you and your heart and soul off its feet. This book will make you fight, it’ll make you fight for Blake and Eva, for what they share, for their healing. It’ll make you fight for the possibilities those two have. It’ll make you fight with every ounce of your heart right along with those two, and I am telling you, you will LOVE experiencing every single moment of that.

This book will show you what it means to love. It will show you what true friends are. It will show you how your family, blood related and not, can be there for you when it really matters. It will show you that this series and these characters and this world is one you will never want to leave. (I’m already looking forward to more stories with so many of these characters! I’m lookin’ at you Jace, Abby, Drew, Eric, Tori, Jessie and Rick!)

It will show you what it means to break, to fall, and to shatter more than you ever thought you could. It’ll also show you what it means to fight, what it means to try, and what it means to pick yourself up off the ground and try again. It will show you that even when you think you’re broken beyond repair and even when you think there’s no way the pieces of your heart can be put back together again, the light still shines through, the heart still works, and the hope lives on as long as you believe in it and fight for it.

It is that light that makes it all worth it, and that can be your beacon even in the darkest of hours.

Breathe You is that light, and it will give you the a light that will rival the sun and the moon and the stars if you let it.

So please trust me when I say that you NEED this book in your life. You need Blake and Eva. You need their love. You need their fight. You need every unforgettable ounce of emotion they will give you. You need their tenacity and strength and fire. You need their friends that are there for them when it really matters, and that will sear themselves to you just as much. You need their hope. You need their hearts. You need Celeste Grande’s exceptional writing that brings it all to life.

And you need them.

Plain and simple.

So do yourself a favor and get to meeting them. And loving them. And fighting for them. And feeling it all with them. You won’t regret it. I promise you that with everything that I have.

You will never regret reading and experiencing and feeling every breath of their memorable story that comes to the most beautifully fitting conclusion in Breathe You.

Contemporary Romance| Second Chance Romance

Smoke and Mirrors is the third standalone in the City Limits series. It features a new couple navigating their second-chance romance. Enjoy this love story between a fireman who has returned home from the military and the single mom he left down the street. Welcome to Wynne.

Blurb

My best laid plans had backfired. I’d thought by putting miles between myself and my first love that she’d be free to live whatever life she’d wanted, but when I came back from serving my country and Faith was raising her little girl alone, it was time to make new plans.

In eight years, not a single day had passed when she wasn’t on my mind, and not a night went by when I didn’t miss her. She was fierce and stunning and didn’t need a man in her life, but when the time came—and she wanted one—the line would start behind me.

Like smoke, I’d let her slip through my fingers once, but I’d never forgive the man in the mirror if I let it happen again. She was the fire inside me that would never burn out.

*****5 Amazing Second Chance Stars*****

Going back to Wynne is something I absolutely treasure. Getting more of M. Mabie’s exceptional words is something I look forward to with all that I have. Being with her wonderful and distinctive characters is something that just gives me life and everything that I need.

Reading her books always feels good. Damn good. I never want them to end. Ever. I’m never ready to say goodbye to her characters and the feels that they give me. I’m never ready for the story to end, I’m never ready for it to stop consuming me like all of her stories do. I’m never ready to sever the vibrant and all-feeling connection I feel to her words and what she so memorably creates with them.

The inviting and memorable world and characters and moments she creates within the pages of her books’ take me in in the most authentic and heartfelt way. They take me in, they own me while I am in their dynamic grasp, and by the end of it all, I never want them to let me go because that’s how good and right and enjoyable they are.

I can’t get enough of M. Mabie’s words. Or her books. Or her characters. Or what she gives me with them along the way. I can never get enough of it all.

And that is just a fraction of what makes her books so incredible, so enrapturing, and so moving.

Smoke and Mirrors was another exceptional example of M. Mabie’s writing talent and thoughtful storytelling. Every word of this book stole my heart and soul, while simultaneously letting me feel like I was coming home to the best group of characters a girl could ask for. The way she brought it all to life through her words, through the memorable and all-feeling moments she so fantastically created, and the way she let me live it and breathe it and just experience it all was everything to me.

Everything.

This book was equal parts sweet, meaningful, and heartfelt. It perfectly balanced every amazing aspect of its second chance nature, while giving me a love story that touched every facet of my heart. This story was one built on emotion, feels, heart, second chances, and a helluva lot of hope and strength and fight.

I honestly can’t tell you enough how amazing it was to read and experience. This book just felt good to read. Every word, every sentence, every page and moment felt good and right and needed. It felt like the perfect summer day. It was fulfilling, satisfying, and it flooded me with the most beautiful feeling of contented pleasure. All of M. Mabie’s City Limits books have felt that way, and this book just showed me even more why I love this series, why I love the wonderful and distinctive and honest characters it gives me, and why I can’t get enough of a little town named Wynne.

The events of this story follows two characters, as they get a second chance to fix what could’ve been. Years ago Aaron and Faith had a connection that was full of fire and longing and young love, but there were obstacles that held them back and stood in their way. Now years have passed, yet their connection and feelings and longing for one another have only strengthened. He’s left and come back, she’s now a single mom to an amazing little girl, and they both seemed to be plagued with thoughts of “what would’ve happened it we…” It is those thoughts that take up more of their minds and hearts than they are willing to really admit, and that is what eventually gives them both that little nudge to see what could be.

Smoke and Mirrors follows what happens when Aaron and Faith decide to take that leap of faith, to meet that push that urges them to think of what they could share and have together, and to try to see what might happen if they gave it all a real shot.

This story follows them and their honest and so easy to love hearts as they take that second chance, as they feel it all, and as they try to figure out what the future might hold for them both. They share an intertwined past that seeps into their present in more ways than one. They also share a strong as all get out connection that has them both knowing that they need to do something. It is that connection and pull that will have you in every word of this book, experiencing it all with them as they take that second chance, as their fight and determination and tenacity shines through, and as they soon start to realize that falling for one another is oh so easy when you already fell so long ago.

There were so many aspects that I absolutely loved about this book. I loved that it gave me a front row seat to a second chance romance. Second chance love stories are my jam, and Aaron and Faith highlighted that for me again and again while I experienced their second chance at it all. They showed what second chances are all about. They showed the vulnerabilities and worries and fears that come with them. They showed what happened when you put all of that aside and took that leap of faith to see what could be. They showed every part of their hearts and pasts, they showed how it was all affecting them in the present, and along the way they showed their hopes and dreams and their longing.

Getting all of that was nothing short of spectacular.

What I loved about this book was that it gave me a story about what happens when two people fight for what they want and need and for what they believe in, all while showing their realistic, sweet, and heart melting journey together as they gave it all another chance.

This book lets their story unfold in the most magical and fitting way that will have you swooning something fierce, while simultaneously wishing you were them getting to feel every ounce of what they share.

Suffice to say, those two completely stole my heart. Every page solidified my love for them and my adamant belief in what they shared. That combined with the wonderful characters of Wynne made this story incredible on every level.

Aaron was a man that I loved from the start. I loved how good of a guy he was. I loved that he was a hard worker, both at his job and his life and with everything he wanted to share with Faith. I loved that he was a man who would not give up, and who would not apologize for doing what he knew was right. Aaron was a character who was true to his word, who was so honest and real, and he was someone who was doing all that he could to right the wrong choice he made all those years ago. I loved him so fiercely. I loved his heart, his determination, and how he was there for Faith and her little girl. I swooned for that man, I rooted him on and believed in him, and I just loved him with all that I had.

Plus who can resist a firefighter with a heart of gold?! (The answer to that question is no one, in case you were wondering.)

Faith was a woman who I connected to immediately. I found her so real, so genuine, and she was such a good person and mother doing the best she could for her little girl and herself. That girl has more strength and tenacity than you can shake a stick at, and seeing all that she did to get by and to give her daughter the life she deserved was amazing. It seared my heart to that woman, and the sheer strength she had and how hard she worked and fought for it all was the absolute best. I also loved how real of a character she was. She was smart, she had hesitancies like any person in her shoes would have, and she wasn’t afraid to be honest with what worried her. She was real and complicated in such an endearing way, and that was just one of many things that had me loving her to pieces. She was also just a damn good person and mother and friend, and every interaction with her made me smile or laugh of feel such a strong connection to her.

She was her through and through, and I loved every relatable and sweet bit of her that I got to know and understand in this book.

Everything those two shared together pulled at my heart. It made me believe in everything they were trying to build with their second chance. It had me feeling it all right along with them through M. Mabie’s enrapturing and authentic writing. It had me basking in the memorable moments they shared, the fire that sparked between them, and the feelings that had them falling hard for one another. Every word of this book had me rooting for them and that was just another thing pulling me into this incredible book.

No to be outdone, the rest of the characters that make the world of Wynne what it is are back in this book and will have you loving every moment you get with them. You will love Delaney, Faith’s daughter, with all that you have. The spunk and sass of that girl is all kinds of amazing, and you will love getting her interactions with Faith, with the other people of Wynne, and especially with Aaron. *cue all the swooning* All your favorites are back. Rhett, Sunny, Darrel, Hannah, Vaughn, and so many others that will have you loving what you’re reading and feeling like you just want to pull up a chair and sit down for a beer with them all.

All of these wonderfully distinctive characters make this world and series what it is, and they all add another fantastic layer to this love story that will just have you chomping at the bit for the next time you get more of them all.

Smoke and Mirrors is a story that I loved every word of. I loved how it allowed me to feel good and how it encapsulated me within a story that was magical and real and so honestly heartfelt. I loved how it stole my heart, how it made me hope and wonder and wish, how it let me get the vulnerabilities and the honest selves of these characters, and how it just gave me a second chance romance that gave me everything. This book was another incredible addition to this series, and it told a story that was sweet, real, and one that everyone should have the pleasure of reading.

This book is all about what you do with the second chance you’re given. Do you wait? Do you leap? Do you dance around your feelings, or do you let them take charge? Do you hold back because of what could happen, or do you give it one last push because something could happen? Do you love? Do you fall? Do you put your heart on your sleeve for the chance at something more?

Smoke and Mirrors gave me the answers to all of those questions and more. It gave me a love story that was so memorable and enjoyable and real, it gave me two characters whose hearts shined through every moment, and in the end it let me get a front row seat to a second chance love story that was outstanding in every way possible.

This book made me smile, it made me laugh, and it made me feel good. It gave me every part of these characters and their journey together, and it showed me just how right they were for one another.

M. Mabie excels at real life romance, and Smoke and Mirrors delivers a spectacular real life romance that will have you swooning, have you feeling it all, and that will have you believing in the meaningful power of a good second chance.

M. Mabie is writer who made thousands of readers hate to love (and love to hate) the angst-filled contemporary romance, Bait.

She lives in Illinois with her husband. She writes unconventional love stories and tries to embody “real-life romance.” She cares about politics, but will not discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne’s World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head.

She has always been a writer. In fact, she was born with a pen in her hand, which almost never happens. Almost. M. Mabie usually doesn’t speak in third-person. She promises.
