*****5 All-Consuming Stars*****

Misadventures of the First Daughter was a perfect, steamy, and fully enjoyable read by Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild. I have loved each and every one of the books in this incredible series, but none of them have owned me quite as much as this book did. From the very first pages of the story, I was swept up into the all consuming fire storm of connection that was exploding between Zane and Charlotte. Everything I got with those two is something I won’t soon forget. I have loved each and every one of the books in this incredible series, but none of them have owned me quite as much as this book did. From the very first pages of the story, I was swept up into the all consuming fire storm of connection that was exploding between Zane and Charlotte. Everything I got with those two is something I won’t soon forget. It was bursting with fire, laced with some very real feelings, and every new page that I got with them both just made me love what I was reading even more.

This book made me blush, it melted my heart again and again, and it showed what can happen when two people who are not supposed to be together, can’t seem to fight what they feel and what they share. Every word of this story engrossed me more in everything they were sharing, and invested me wholeheartedly in the fire, in the heat, and in the wholly real connection they shared together. What I got with Charlotte and Zane as I read this book gave me at all. It gave me them, they gave me the very real feelings they shared, and it gave me every bit of drama and action and suspense and romance and fire along the way.

What I loved about this book is that it gave me a couple that should not be together, yet still could not help but feel and give into what was sparking between them. This book and it’s events pushed them, their limits, and their hearts, and it pushed all of mine right along with theirs in the most amazing way. The way that Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild bring this story to life will have you living and experiencing and relishing in every word you get with them. You will be with them through all of the twists and turns, you will be with them as that fire and that steam turns into something more than either of them bargained for, and you will be with them as they see what could be.

Charlotte and Zane were the absolute best. I loved how real they felt, I loved how protective he was, I loved how she pushed his buttons every chance that she got, and I love that everything between them felt right even when the world and those around them said it wasn’t. Charlotte and Zane were such dynamic characters that completely stole my heart from the very first pages of this book. Those two gave me it all along the way as I read this book, and I loved getting to know them and getting to discover and experience the depth of what they shared as the story unfolded. Meredith Wild and Mia Michelle created their characters in a way that made them authentic, made them so easy to love in every way, and in a way that made the connection and fire they shared tangible. I loved every moment of getting to experience that while reading this book, and it was just another thing that made this a phenomenal read.

Misadventures of the First Daughter was another outstanding addition to the series. It was outstandingly written, it had two characters that were real, genuine and honest, and so easy to love and root for, and it had a story that I could not put down from start to finish! This book had it all, and it perfectly well together a story of heat and fire, suspense and action, all while giving me a love story that hit my heart and other parts of me in the best way!

I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s probably my favorite of the series so far, and it makes me eager even more to get more of the series, and more of these authors’ exceptional writing! Misadventures of the First Daughter will not disappoint you one little bit, so do yourself a favor and run yourself to it this instant!

*****5 Sweet and Sexy Stars*****

Misadventures of a Backup Bride by Shayla Black was a delightful, steamy, and all consuming romance that I could not put down! From start to finish this book had me hooked in to everything I was reading with these characters, it gave me a story that was fast paced and worked so phenomenally well, and it gave me a reading experience that was fully enjoyable through every word. This story was well written, it was enrapturing as all get out, and it gave me a love story that made me blush and hit my heart in the same breath!

This is the first book that I have right by Shayla Black, but I know that it will not be the last. I absolutely loved her writing style. She made it so easy for me to fall right into the story with these characters, and I love how she let me feel and experience it all with them. Her effervescent writing gave me these characters, their personalities, their story, and it just gave me them. I loved that. I loved how I felt like I was living this book with them and it made this book even more enjoyable to read because of that.

What I loved about Misadventures of a Backup Bride was the premise of the story, how this author perfectly blended a story of steam and sexy with sweet and heartfelt, and how I just fell in love with these characters.

What you get with Carson and Ella as the story unfolds will melt your heart among other things, and will have you rooting for them! This story follows them as they see if a bargain and an agreement between them could lead to much more than either of them thought. Carson needs a bride. He’s trying to save his family business, and he’s trying to be a good guy who does the right thing. Ella is an actress who is trying to help Carson do just that. What starts off as the two of them agreeing to help each other out, soon find them falling hard and fast for each other. This story follows them through every twist and turn, through every high and low, and as these to try to see what could be with the very real and very heartfelt feelings that have grown between them.

What I loved about Carson was that he was so genuine and was a good guy trying to do the right thing for everyone involved. That pulled me into his character, and it seared me to him with what I got with him in the story. He was a man that completely stole my heart through every word that I got with him. Ella was a female character that I immediately connected to. She was real, she was sweet, and she was an independent woman ready to do what needed to be done. What she didn’t expect was to fall for Carson so quickly and so deeply, but I loved that throughout all of those feelings she had for him, she was still smart and headstrong and not afraid to fight for what she wanted. I loved both of these character so much, and the way that Shayla Black makes them so real, so authentic, and so easy to love will have you rooting for them every step of the way!

This was another phenomenal addition to the Misadventures Series. This book had it all. It had the spark and fire between these characters that I could not get enough of. It had their love and the world a feeling that developed between them. It had a story that was unique and consuming. It had the writing that brought it all together, and I truly can’t say enough how much I loved it! This was a well-written, fast-paced, and all-around phenomenal read. If you are looking for something quick and enjoyable, then run yourself to this amazing book this second!

It will make you blush and melt and you will love every single sweet and sultry second you get within its pages!

*****5 Unforgettable Stars*****

Most of All You was a breathtakingly emotional story of two broken people trying to make it through life and the life altering hurdles it threw in their way. This story is one that is filled with unimaginable pain and anguish, yet in the same breath is filled with the most soul touching love and healing that you will ever experience. As much as this story is about hurt and darkness and things that threaten to take the life out of you, it is just as much, if not more so about love and light and the things that make life worth living for.

Mia Sheridan continues to be one of the most talented authors I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The way she so thoughtfully weaves together stories and characters that are deep, so unforgettably real, and that sear themselves to your heart is what continues to make her one of my favorite authors. Her words, the feelings and emotions behind them, and the beautiful and powerful meaning she crafts behind them are so much more. They are more unforgettable, more amazing, more consuming, and more all-feeling.

She just makes her stories and characters and everything with them mean so much more, and that truly sets her books in a league of their own.

Most of All You follows what happens when two people with a world of hurt and pain in their pasts, find themselves on the same path trying to find a way to heal, to find themselves, and to be who they were always meant to be. This story follows them through every struggle, triumph, and moment in between with them as they fight against each other and what they know is right, as they fight for themselves, and as they fight to end up in the exact place they know they need to be. Most of All You gives you their highs, their lows, and every moment in between as they try to find their way through the darkness that threatens to surround them. This book has a story within it that is bursting with so much heart, so much varied emotion, and so much hope. Hope for the future, hope for healing, and hope for what could be if fate finds a way. Getting to experience that hope along with everything else in this book was extraordinary.

Every page of this book, every sentence with these characters, and every word I experienced while reading put me right in the thick of this book with these characters loving and feeling and breathing and living everything that they were.

The way that Mia Sheridan once again puts you in the heart of her story will pull at every one of your emotions, and will have you rooting with all that you have that Gabriel and Ellie will find a way to get to the place they both deserve to be. Through every page of this book my love for those two grew exponentially, and the way that Mia Sheridan gave me them, as their messiest, at their most complicated, at their most broken pulled my heart to them a million times over. She allowed me to get them, to understand their pain and their journeys and why they guarded their hearts the way she did. She also allowed me to see and feel how it all started to change, and to understand the fears and worries and vulnerabilities that went along with that.

Through every page and word of what I read and felt, I got these characters. I got them, their fight, their falls, and every moment of the two of them seeing what could be if they could only find it through that darkness to the light they both wanted. Ellie and Gabriel’s story was beautiful. It was raw and intense at times and so breathtakingly real, and getting to fall in love with them both while I got to experience their incredible journeys of fight and healing was everything.

Gabriel was a man who melted my heart from the very first page. His honesty, his sweetness, and his patience blew me away. That man had a heart of gold that shined on every page, and the words out of his mouth and the meaning behind them had me loving him with all that I had. Ellie and her hard exterior, her blunt nature, and her fiery self pulled me in, even when that girl did all she could to push others away. Getting to see that exterior of hers crack, getting to see her walls fall, and getting to be there with her as she tried to figure out who she was and what she wanted was amazing. It was real and genuine and it was her, and that was everything to get.

Most of All You was one of the most perfect love stories I have ever read, and what’s funny is it probably had two of the most broken characters in it, yet it was their brokenness, their cracks, and the dings in their armor that made this story so beautiful, so right, and so epic. Every word of this book wowed me. Every emotion behind it all moved me and had my heart melting and my eyes tearing up more times than I could count. Every moment I got with these characters gave me it all, and in the end I know that I will not soon forget what this story so exceptionally gave me.

It was breathtaking, it was emotional, it was healing, it was pain and hurt and love and light all mixed into one, and through it all it was a story about what can happen when you learn to embrace the cracks that let you see the light.

I cannot say enough how much I loved this book and what it gave me. Ellie and Gabriel’s story will move you in ways you didn’t know possible, and will give you a love story you won’t soon forget, and it truly does not get better than that!

*****5 Suspenseful and Steamy Stars*****

Misadventures of a Good Wife was an exceptionally written, unputdownable read that consumed me from start to finish. With its perfect blend of steamy and passionate fire, a love that was so heartfelt and all-feeling, with the best amount of mystery and suspense thrown in, this book delivered it all. It wowed me, it shocked me, it made me blush something fierce, and through every page of what I read I felt the love between these two characters with all that I had! Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt did the most phenomenal job of creating a story that I could get lost in, creating a story that allowed me to feel it all, and creating a story and two characters that immediately stole my heart with all that they had.

The events of this book follow Kate Price as her entire world is upside down. You see a year ago her husband was killed in a plane crash, and she’s pretty much been wasting away ever since. She misses her husband dearly and has lost so much of herself, so her sister law convinces her that they need a vacation. An escape, a warm ocean breeze and some fun is what they need, so Kate’s sister in law sweeps them away to paradise. But what Kate soon finds on her island getaway is more than she ever bargained for….her husband is alive! While he may be alive, the shocks keep coming, and soon Kate must decide is she has what it takes to stick by his side as the two of them fight for their love, their future, and to stay alive. Told with the best level of mystery and suspense, passion and fire, and so much connection, this story gives you Price and Kate’s story of reconnection, second chances, and of course, love.

I loved every part of this story. I loved that I felt so much for these characters right from the start. I felt for Kate and her struggle to make sense of what was going on, what she should do, and what it would all mean. I felt for Price and the weight he had on his shoulders, the struggle he felt at putting the love of his life at risk, and for all that he had been through. I loved how strong they both were, how vulnerable they were in the same breath, and how they shared such a true and fiery connection that I felt every ounce of. I can’t say enough how real and authentic Helen Hardt and Meredith Wild made the love and passion between Kate and Price. They made it tangible, they made it so achingly real, and they made it something I could not get enough of.

What I got with Kate and Price as this story continued was something I won’t soon forget. It was something that made me blush, something that stole my breath so many times, and something that felt so beyond right. The way these authors let you experience every part of their love, their fight for the future, and their fight to be together will sear you to them in every way possible, and will have you on the edge of your seat ready to see where it all takes them.

I seriously can’t recommend this book enough! It was exceptionally written, it had two phenomenal characters that stole my heart from the very first page, and this story had a consuming fire to it that I loved every word of! Helen Hardt and Meredith Wild allowed me to breathe and live and love every word of this book with Kate and Price, delivering a fulfilling story of mystery, passion, steam, fire, and a love you’ll never forget.

The Misadventures Series promises quick, fulfilling, and steamy reads that give you the story, the sexy times, and the characters you won’t soon forget. Misadventures of a Good Wife delivered on all of that and more, and I loved it! I could not put this book down, and I am telling you, if you are looking for a quick and completely satisfying read that will give you it all and then some, then run yourself to this read this very second!!!

*****5 Unforgettably Magical Stars*****

Do you know that incredible feeling you get when start a new book and immediately know it’s going to be amazing? You know that magical feeling that takes ahold of you and your heart from the very first word and just lets you feel it all in the best and most memorable way? It’s that feeling that owns you, that makes you heart skip a beat or two, and that makes you know without a doubt that every word, every paragraph, and every moment of that book will give you it all and then some.

It’s that feeling that consumes you, enraptures you, and wows you within everything the author so phenomenally crafts and creates.

That is the feeling I live for when I start a new book. It is because of that feeling that I am a reader and a lover of the written word. And it was that unforgettable feeling that I felt through every word of The Sweetness of Life by Kathryn Andrews.

Now it is no secret that Kathryn Andrews is one of my all-time favorite authors. The way that she so perfectly weaves together stories with heart, feels, and such dynamic characters together is why her books have become some of my very favorites, and it is definitely why The Sweetness of Life will be added to that favorites list.

This book completely wowed me from start to finish. It made me laugh out loud, it made me feel, and it made me love these characters with all I had as they went from enemies to something more than either of them bargained for. Told through Kathryn Andrew’s exceptional writing, this story magically weaves together a beautiful story of food, wine, enemies, lovers, and the perfect pairing between all of that and more.

From the very first word until the very last, through every turn of the page, and through every moment I so vividly experienced in this book, I swooned, I melted, I craved some of the delicious food and wine being served up, I felt everything and I loved every bit of what Shelby and Zach shared together.

What I absolutely loved about The Sweetness of Life:

  • From blind date, to hate, to something pretty darn great. The Sweetness of Life is an enemies to lovers romance that follows Zach and Shelby as they go from the worst blind date ever, to being thrust upon each other for work, to feeling much more for each other than they ever expected. This story allows you to see how these two have come to have such strong feelings of disdain for one another, and shows you the unforgettable moments that ensue when they must work together for a combined project. They want nothing to do with each other, but they both need this job to work for different reasons, so they each come up with a plan to make it work. The deeper they get into the project and the more time they spend together, the more they start to feel a fire and connection that no amount of wine or water could quench. Soon these two find themselves feeling a whole heck of a lot that they were not prepared for and that suddenly turns their worlds, their dreams, and their feelings upside down. Through every word and every moment with Zach and Shelby those two will keep you and your heart on its toes, and will have you loving every single moment you get with them.
  • Strong characters with so much heart. What I loved about Zach and Shelby was that they were both strong characters. They both had strong personalities, strong minds and hearts, and they weren’t afraid to say exactly what they felt and to push each other’s buttons. That led to the best amount of banter and push and pull and a build of tension that was gloriously intense. Zach and Shelby are headstrong and proud of it, and I LOVED getting to be right in the middle of the two of them. I had so much respect and love for both of them, and what I loved especially was how Kathryn Andrews so seamlessly balanced showing their strength along with their vulnerability. She let you see their highs and lows and everything in between, you got them at their best and in moments they felt beyond exposes, and through it all she let you see their genuinely good hearts that made them who they were. It was that balance that made me love these characters with all that I had.
  • The fight for the pie in the sky. One of my favorite aspects of this book was getting to experience the drive and fight Zach and Shelby had for their pie in the sky ideas. Those two wanted the best. They wanted their dreams to come true, and their passionate little hearts would do whatever it took to get there. I loved the tenacity they both had for their big ideas and dreams, and it was that passion and fight that added another dynamic layer to this story and their characters. While these two may have not wanted to work together at the start, the more you get with them both as they race towards those dreams of theirs will have you loving them more, and loving how those dreams of theirs interact and start to weave together. Getting to experience two real, authentic, and enjoyable characters with some serious heart and drive was the absolute best. I can’t say enough how much their fight and passion and fire for their dreams inspired me along the way, and it truly showed so much about them both.
  • A beautiful setting that I never wanted to leave. The setting of this story was almost a character in and of itself, and I pretty much just want to live on a north Georgia winery from now on. Like for reals. The way Kathryn Andrews once again creates a place that is so real, so vivid, and so breathtakingly beautiful will sweep you off your feet, and will have you loving every moment you get to be in that place. The setting of this book became a place where real magic and feeling and connection took place. Wolff Winery is a place that I loved getting to picture and experience. It was a place I never wanted to leave, and it was a place where I got to experience every part of Zach and Shelby’s relationship. While the book does have other locations, it was this magical place that truly made this book and felt so special, so trust me when I tell you that every bit of it you get will wow you in every way.
  • A connection and fire worth feeling. Though Zach and Shelby start off hating each other’s guts, there is definitely a fire and connection between them that builds and builds through every moment they share. It is that fire and connection that makes this book what it is, that draws you in craving more, and that will have you on the edge of your seat through every page waiting to see what will happen between them. The way that Kathryn Andrews so tangibly creates that tension between them, that fire that ignites so gloriously, and that connection that keeps pulling them closer and closer, no matter how much they might try to fight against it. I loved that I felt everything these two shared so fiercely through every page of this story, and that pulled me into everything more and invested me in everything I was reading because I was living and experiencing it too. That connection and fire gave me it all with Zach and Shelby, and had me knowing that there can be a fine line between love and hate and all of the feelings that go with it. With a healthy dose of the best southern charm thrown in for good measure, this book and these characters certainly deliver a connection and banter that you will love to pieces.
  • The sweetness of life. The Sweetness of Life not only gave me a story of two complete opposites seeing what could be after they are forced together, it gave me a story of beautiful meaning and feeling that I won’t soon forget. Kathryn Andrews does the most exceptional job of weaving that meaning and heart and feeling through every page of this book in a way that truly melts your heart and shows you so much with these two. Through this book she shows you the true sweetness of life, the true southern charm, and what can really happen when two people start feeling some very real feelings. It is all of that and more that makes this book the exceptional thing that it is, and that will have you loving and basking in every moment you get with Zach and Shelby along the way as you discover what it truly means to have the sweetness of life and love.

This book is a gem that gave me it all. It had the dynamic characters with some unforgettable personalities, it had the feels and fire and heart to keep me consumed in it all, and it had a story that just wouldn’t quit from start to finish. This story kept me consumed through every word, and it gave me Zach and Shelby. It gave me their fire, their dreams, their fight and hopes, it gave me them through their struggles, through their hate, and through those moments when it all started to change into something more than either of them expected.

The Sweetness of Life gave me their journey of dreams, heart, and discovering who they really are and who they want to be. Through every word they owned me, my heart, and all of my emotions as they tried to figure out what in the world they were sharing, and where in the world it was going. This story definitely puts the two of them to the test, but I am telling you, you will love every second you get to spend with them as they figure it all out.

You will laugh with them, feel it all with them, you will fall in love with them so truly, and in the end you will love getting to experience every amazing word of their unforgettable and all-feeling story.

Kathryn Andrews has wowed me once again with this book, and I can’t recommend it enough. It is bursting with a fire and connection that will ignite you, a charm that will ease you, a sense of heart and drive that will push you, and a sweetness that in the end will move you again and again.

I can’t recommend this book and these characters enough, so do yourself a solid and grab yourself a slice of pie and a glass of wine, sit yourself at the table with this book, and get ready for The Sweetness of Life to give you it all. And then some.

 *****5 All-Consuming Stars*****

If there is one thing I know for sure in life it’s that there is nothing better than when two of your favorite authors team up to write a book together. Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss never fail to deliver a story that is exceptionally written, with the perfect amount of steam, fire, and romantic connection. There stories never disappoint, and the same could be said for everything I got while reading Misadventures of a City Girl.

I have loved so many books by both of these author’s, so when I found out they would be writing a novella together I was elated. Both of these authors have always delivered all-consuming reading experiences with their love stories, and Misadventures of a City Girl was no different. This book sent me and my heart into the best kind of tizzy. It made me blush and melt and just love every moment that these characters were sharing together.

From start to finish this book consumed me to the point that I could not put it down, and it gave me the perfect quick read that had it all.

What I loved about this book, besides the exceptional writing and storytelling of these authors, was getting to be in Luke and Madison’s heads. I loved those two something fierce. I loved that they were two seemingly opposite characters who had one helluva fiery connection. I loved that they pushed each other’s buttons in the best way. I loved that they just couldn’t fight what they were feeling, no matter how hard either of them might have tried. I loved that they took chances, I loved that they felt so real and genuine, I loved that I felt connected to them so truly through every word, and in the end I loved that this story gave me them. It gave me them at their best, their worst, and every high and low in between, and that is just part of what made me love them and their story so much.

Misadventures of a City Girl follows Luke and Madison through their whirlwind romance, when a good ole country boy with a past that keeps him hidden, meets the city girl who will keep him on his toes. She has no idea what’s she’s doing in the middle of nowhere, and he wants nothing to do with the outside world, but when these two are together it’s pure unadulterated fire. What those two share will melt your heart…among other things, and will have you loving every bit you get of their story as they try to figure out what in the world they’re doing with one another.

From start to finish this book did not disappoint. It made me laugh, it had me loving the connection I felt between these two, it gave both of these characters’ distinctive personalities that made me love them even more, and through it all it gave me the best kind of love story. This quick and fulfilling read was all kinds of phenomenal, and I truly can’t say enough good things about it!

This book is perfect for you if you are looking for a quick read that will satisfy everything you want and need in a book! You will love Luke and Madison to pieces, and you will love getting to fall right along with them as this story unfolds. Chelle Bliss and Meredith Wild brought out their A game for this novella, and I for one was impressed by every fantastic word they created within the pages of this book!

This novella will show you all the juicy details of what happens when a country boy falls for a city girl, and every pulse pounding and blushworthy moment in between will have you loving every bit of what you’re reading! Trust me. Luke and Madison do not disappoint. One little bit.

There is a reason Ella Fox continues to be one of my all-time favorite authors, and every single amazing word of I Want proved that over and over again. Every book she writes, every story she gives me, and all of the amazing and dynamic characters she creates continue to deliver unforgettable reading experiences that I can’t get enough of! I look forward to reading her books so much, and I can’t say enough how much I have been excited to get more of this series. I LOVE this series. So much. I lo There is a reason Ella Fox continues to be one of my all-time favorite authors, and every single amazing word of I Want proved that over and over again. So much. I love the way its characters love, I love the way the feels and the romance and so much heart are bursting from this series’ pages, and I love how good it feels to read this series.

Ella Fox delivers it all in I Want. A fulfilling love story that melted my heart into a puddle of the best emotion. A story that made me believe in the power of falling in love. A story that allowed me to fall right along with these characters. A story that felt good, felt right, and felt special to experience. Every word of this book, every turn of the page, and every moment I got to experience with Alejandro and Kaya seared my heart to theirs, invested me in their journey of love, and had me falling right along with them. Told through Ella Fox’s exceptional writing, I Want is a story that will give you heart the best level of feels, will have you knowing the power and amazingness of finding that one person who just fits, and that will have you rooting like crazy for everything that Alejandro and Kaya share.

I Want is the second book in the Enamorado Series, which is quickly becoming my most anticipated and loved series. I love this series. I love the family of characters it brings to life. I love how good it feels to read, and I love how each book in it wraps you up in a love story that is unique, gratifying, meaningful, sweet, romantic, and the perfect blend of fantasy and reality. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading them all because they’re all so so good! And trust me, once you meet the characters of this series, you will want more of them and you will never want to let them go. Trust me, that’s exactly how I feel as I sit here writing this review, and I for one can’t wait to get my hands on the next book as this series continues.

The start of this book finds Alejandro and Kaya both done with relationships. He’s had the worst kind of luck with women and she’s vowed to not get serious until she’s 25. They both know what they want and they’re sticking to their guns because love isn’t for them right now…that is until they meet one another and find themselves coming up with more and more excuses to see one another. The spark seriously flies between these two, and soon they both find themselves spending more time together than they are apart. I Want follows Alejandro and Kaya as they fall, as they see what could be, and as they see what might happen if they embrace the world of feeling they begin to share. What starts off as a crazy spark soon becomes so much more in this book, and I can’t say enough how phenomenal that was to experience.

What I loved about this story was that it was about falling in love. It was about trusting your heart and your feelings. It was about taking that chance when it really matters for the one who really matters. It was about falling hard and fast and so deeply. It was about embracing people into your life and your heart, and it was about giving love a chance. It was about meeting the right person at the right time, and it was about giving it all you’ve got to keep that person close. This book is about love and family and trust and heart, and it blew me away.

I Want had the perfect blend of feels and emotion, heat and romance, and two characters my heart instantly went to. This book made me laugh, it made me smile, it made me blush and melt again and again, and it just reaffirmed my belief in love and connection. It was that good. It was that amazing. And it was that enjoyable to read. The magic and love and connection you start to experience between Alejandro and Kaya will give you it all, and will have you believing in them, what they share, and every bit of this story.

Ella Fox once again pulled my heart in again and again to both of these characters and their own journeys in this book. I loved them both to pieces, and I loved how their distinctive personalities shined through every page. I loved how Alejandro was so determined to win over Kaya, and how he just knew she was someone he needed in his life. I loved how he was genuine, sweet, and a man with a heart of gold that won me over from page one. I loved how he loved, how he fell, and how he wasn’t afraid to admit it all when it really mattered. I loved him, plain and simple, and I am telling you, every word out of his mouth will melt you a million times over. Especially when he speaks Spanish. That was the best, he was the best, and I just loved him.

Kaya was a female character I could so relate to. I loved how real she was, I loved how she just owned who she was and what she loved to do, and I loved how she was a sweet girl that my heart just went to from the start. I really connected to Kaya’s character and everything I got with her, and I especially loved being there every step of the way as she started to feel what she did for Alejandro. Kaya was such a real, endearing, and kind character that I loved from start to finish, and getting to be with her as I read this book made me love everything I was reading even more.

Not to be outdone, Elvis stole the show in the best way in I Want. I won’t tell you who he is or his part of the story, but let me tell you, you will LOVE him. I know I did. He had me laughing my butt off, loving every moment with him, and loving how he played into the story. He along with the rest of the supporting cast in this book had me knowing again and again why this series is so good, and why it continues to be one I want more of.

When I reached the end of I Want I did so with a heart bursting for these characters and everything they shared. This book made me feel good, it gave me everything I needed, and I loved every word of the love story between Alejandro and Kaya. I can’t wait for more of this series to fall in love with!!! I am telling you if you give this book a chance, you will not regret it! This book is all kinds of phenomenal, it’s well written, the characters are great, the feels and love are there, and in the end it will just have you loving every moment you got within its pages!!

I Want was the perfect fulfilling and enjoyable read, and it is a book you need in your life this very moment! Trust me.

Excerpt

“Climb gates around here often?” he asked, no censure in his voice. I realized he spoke English as fluently as he spoke Spanish. He was clad in navy basketball shorts, a pair of Nike running shoes and he was just sweaty enough for me to realize he’d likely been working out. I swear I was hypnotized by all of his exposed skin, so much so that I could just about remember my own name at that moment. I’d have blamed the fall for my dazed and confused frame of mind but that wasn’t it at all. It was purely because of him—the sexy Spanish-speaking god who’d saved me from certain harm. My eyes trailed along his muscular but lean body hungrily as I catalogued just how ridiculously gorgeous he was. I was hypnotized by his six-pack and the set of V-cut muscles I had an insane urge to trail my fingers over.

I’d have kept right on staring had he not cleared his throat. I cringed as I came back to reality and realized he’d asked a question I hadn’t retained.

“Um, huh?” I asked, perfectly clueless.

“I was asking if you’re a professional gate climber,” he said huskily.

“No, I—”

“She’s really fine after a fall from that height?” the officer asked as he came through the gate.

“She never hit the ground,” my savior said, “since I caught her.”

The cop looked almost as impressed as I felt. I’d have heaped praised onto the stranger who saved me had I not remembered that I needed to be focused on a more pressing concern.

“So now that I’m on this side I really need to get my—”

The officer pinned me with a look that left no doubt that he was in charge. “Miss, please remain silent while I work out what’s going on here.”

I pursed my lips and tried to contain my annoyance. I knew he was just doing his job but all I cared about was finding Elvis.

The officer turned back to the Spanish model—I naturally assumed he modeled because he looked like he belonged in sensual looking black and white ads for men’s cologne. You know the kind of ads I’m talking about, right? There’s always a sexy guy giving you the let’s have all the sex look with a set of eyes that are clearly attempting to hypnotize you into buying something.

He was at least six feet tall and had a head full of thick, dark hair. His face was perfectly proportioned from forehead to chin, and I could find nothing that didn’t appear to be symmetrical. He had a ridiculously sexy closely trimmed beard that I wanted to trace with my fingers and his jaw was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. I turned crimson when my eyes trailed up and met his and I realized he was observing me—which meant he knew I’d been staring at him. Again.

I bit my lip and tried not to blush as I blinked like an idiot. I was relieved to have a reason to look to the police officer when he cleared his throat to get our attention. “Are you the one who called about the disturbance down the side of the house?” he asked.

I couldn’t resist the urge to let my eyes wander back to the Spanish god. I knew just enough Spanish to determine that if his looks were rated on the salsa scale he’d be called el más caliente.

His eyes were on me as he answered the cop. “My brother called, yes.”

“What’s your name, sir?”

“Alejandro Cruz.”

Even his name was sexy. My skin felt hot and prickly under his gaze. Anxious for a reprieve, I looked back to the officer.

The cop nodded as he took note of it on his pad. “And your brother’s name?”

“Rafael Cruz.”

“And you?” the cop asked with a head nod toward me.

“Kaya Porter.”

“Can you spell that?”

“K-a-y-a,” I answered.

“That’s a weird name,” the officer said as he wrote it down.

I wasn’t sure if he was being rude or not so I shrugged and said nothing. Alejandro growled something under his breath that I couldn’t understand. A shiver went down my back at the way the words rolled off his tongue. His Spanish accent fascinated me. I’d never been one to care one way or the other about a man’s voice, but his did things to me. I wondered if audio erotica was a thing. If it were, I would pay a subscription fee to hear him talk all day.

“So were you trying to escape or get in?” the officer asked, ruining my good fantasy about an Alejandro Cruz dirty talk subscription service.

“I was trying to get in,” I answered stiffly, annoyed that the officer had already forgotten everything I’d said, “I told you—”

“No, no, she is not the disturbance,” Alejandro interjected. “My brother thought someone was trying to steal God only knows what from the exterior of the house. He was asleep and heard something outside his bedroom window and panicked. He shouldn’t have called the police—it’s animal control that we need. Some dickhead bird went through the trash that my brother forgot to secure and he’s been leading him on one hell of a chase around the yard.”

My eyes narrowed and my hands went to my hips as I stared down the model. “Don’t talk about my little buddy like that,” I snapped.

*****5 Fun and fantastic stars*****

Wild Thing was a quick, satisfying, and all kinds of fiery and fun read that I loved every word of! From start to finish this book this book had me blushing, had me smiling like crazy, and had me laughing out loud with these characters and the antics they get into. Liberty Laine once again created a story I could not put down, and one that gave me such a fun and enjoyable read with the best amount of spice a girl could ask for!

After having loved every fantastic word of Jail House Rock by this author, I had no doubt that I would love this story just as much. While you don’t have to necessarily read Jail House Rock to read this book, I would definitely recommend that story because it’s all kinds of fantastic, and plus you won’t want to miss Millie and Jake’s story too. Those two are to die for in the best possible way. Plus reading that book will have you even more in love with this series, and will have you so ready for more with all of the distinctive and wonderful characters that make up this world.

Wild Thing follows Tillie, Millie’s twin sister, who everyone thinks is a criminal and is always up to no good. The events of this story follow her and Officer Nathan Trent as he does everything in his power to show Tillie that she’s his, all while she’s trying not to dirty him and his good guy reputation up. What I loved about this story was that it really allowed these characters to show who they truly were, to fight for what they really wanted even when the other person didn’t make it so easy, all while they had some of the most memorable moments and antics together. Wild Thing had the perfect amount of romance, swoonworthy moments, as well as so many moments that practically had me crying I was laughing so hard.

This book was over the top, sassy, fun, and full of fire and heart in the best possible way, and I truly can’t say enough good things about it! I loved Tillie and Nate so much. I loved their hearts, I loved getting to see and experience the real them, I loved that they had so much connection and feeling between them, and I just loved how they pushed each other’s buttons in a way that no one else could. If you are looking for a quick, well written, and highly enjoyable read that will give you the laughs, the feels, and some serious heat, then run yourself to this book this very second!!!

Liberty Laine rocked it once again, and I for one can’t wait for more of their writing, their characters, and their stories! (Cough Hannah’s book cough cough!) This series is so fun, so darn good to read, and just so enjoyable, and I am telling you you will love it! It will make you laugh, melt in the best way, and just love what you’re reading, and trust me when I say it doesn’t get better than that!

*****5 Unforgettably Amazing Stars*****

Rebel by Rebecca Yarros was one of the most passionate, electrifying, adrenaline pumping, and all-consuming reads I have EVER read! I LOVED this book. I loved it like I love chocolate and coffee, and if you know me, then you know that’s saying something. This book owned me mind, body and soul from start to finish. It owned my feels, my emotions, and practically every breath I had as it gave me every ounce of what Penelope and Cruz shared. From their first unforgettable meeting, to every heart stopping moment in between that and when they realize the situation they’ve found themselves in, to every emotional and all-feeling moment they share as they explore what’s between them. Every word of this book owned me, wowed me, and blew me away.

Rebecca Yarros once again threw me right into the thick of it with these characters in a way that felt wholly authentic, in a way that let me experience all of the enrapturing thrills they were, and in a way that invested me 100% in every bit of feeling they were sharing and building together. From start to finish she had me living and experiencing every one of her magnificent words, and it honestly made for the most breathtaking of reading experiences. From the very first page of this book I was swept up into the magic and spark bursting out of these characters, and I could not get enough of it. The Renegades is one of my all-time favorite series, so being back in this world with what Rebecca Yarros so fantastically creates was everything.

Rebel is the third book in this series, and while you could read it without reading the others, I highly recommend reading these books in order. These characters, their thrills and stunts, and the unforgettable shenanigans they get into will have you swooning, shocked, and loving every single moment you get with them along the way. Trust me. This series is ahhhmazing. It is full of twists and turns, so much passion, so much emotion, and a set of friends who are more like family, who would do whatever it takes for each other and for the ones they love.

Each and every book in this series has given me a different story to love. You had Pax and Leah, then Rachel and Landon, and last but certainly not least is Penna and Cruz. What I have loved about this series is that while each book has given me a unique story, all of these characters fit together, all of their stories have an edge and intensity to them, and all of them push the boundaries both literally and figuratively with what is and isn’t allowed. Rebel was the final book in this series, and I can’t say enough how fitting of an ending this book was for the Renegades. It was them, through and through. It had everything I have come to love about this series, and it just amplified that love tenfold. It made me even more invested in this world and its characters, and the way Rebecca Yarros so seamlessly brought it all to life is something I will never forget.

Even as I sit here writing this review, I just keep reliving all that Rebecca Yarros gave me in Rebel. She gave me a story of forbidden love that pushed the boundaries in every way possible, that was intense as all get out, and yet in the same breath was so easy to believe in and fight for with all that I had. She gave me a story about what it’s like to find that one person who truly gets you, who allows you to become the best you you can be, and who helps you reach your highest potential. She gave me a story that had the perfect level of romance, swoon worthy moments, adrenaline pumping thrills and stunts, all with the charm and distinctive dynamics of all of these characters. She gave me a story that was memorable in every way, a story that gripped my heart from the very first page, a story that wowed me at every turn, and in the end, a story that I know I will never forget.

I have wanted to get my hands on this book ever since I met Penelope in the first book in this series. She is such a strong female character with some serious fire, and I knew that her book would be one that would keep me on my toes. Boy was I right about that. From the very first page of this story Penna’s charm, humor, and fire burst off the pages, and the more I read, the more I saw the real her. The more I got her. The more I saw Penelope, not Penna, and the more I understood exactly what things were like for her. While Penelope is probably one of the strongest female characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading, I loved that this book gave me her vulnerable side. It let me see her in some very raw moments, in moments where she struggled with herself, with her family, and with the feelings she was developing towards Cruz. Getting those raw and honest moments with her, and getting to be with her as she came into her own, as she became the woman she wanted to be, and as that fire within her reignited once again was exceptional. It was real, it was inspiring, and it was Penelope through every word…and that is something I know I will never forget.

Cruz’s character was one that melted my heart from the very start. He just had this way about him that made my heart go all fluttery. Whether it was the protective nature that exuded out of him, his genuine nature that melted my heart, or the words that came out of that mans mouth that were true and honest and just so heartfelt, I loved everything about his character. I loved how he just went with the craziness and intensity that was the Renegades and Penelope, I loved that he fought so hard to find the balance between what he was comfortable with and what Penelope was comfortable with. I loved that he was a man of honor, a man trying to do the right thing and to do right by Penelope, and I loved that he felt with all that he had. Sure he fought against what was building between them, but when push came to shove and things became so very real, he wasn’t afraid to do what needed to be done or to feel what he so desperately wanted to.

Cruz was the swooniest male character, and I swear there were so many times when reading this book when I just wanted to jump into the book and profess my love for him and all that he and Penelope shred. What those two share is bursting with fire and intensity and a forbidden nature that takes it to the next level, but both Penelope and Cruz aren’t afraid to raise that bar. What those two share and what they give you in this book will bring you to your knees at points, will have you blushing at others, will have you swooning and melting and just basking in it all, and will have you feeling every ounce of feeling they share for one another. They push and they pull, they fight and they make up, they give and they get, and in the end, all of that build and builds and builds some more until you’re left with one of the most mesmerizing and enrapturing love stories you’ll ever experience.

Through every twist and turn and up and down this book throws at these two, they face it head on, and you will love every amazing moment you get with them as they fight for themselves, each other, and what they share together. And trust me when I say that you will be so wholly invested in them and everything they share. I think it’s humanly impossible not to believe in these two and what they share together. Sure it might not be allowed, it might push the boundaries a bit, and it might push these two further than they ever thought they’d go, but through every word you will be right there with them living it, loving it, and experiencing every breath of it, and it honestly doesn’t get better than that.

What starts off as fun and forays into the forbidden soon becomes so much more in this book. It’s one wild and crazy and heart pumping ride, but through it all Penelope and Cruz will see you through, and in the end, what you get with them will blow your heart and all of your feels away.

As sad as I am to know that this series is over, I could not have asked for a better ending. It was perfect. It was real, it was fitting, and it had me on the edge of my seat until the very end, and I wouldn’t have expected anything less from the Renegades. It was wild and crazy and bursting with the best kind of emotion from start to finish, and that was them. It was Pax, Leah, Rachel, Landon, Penelope and Cruz. It was their family, their friendships, their loves. It was their highs and lows, it was all of their intense and thrill seeking stunts, and in the end it was them. It was their hearts, their feelings, and every ounce of fight it took them to get to where they all were. When I reached that last of this book I did so with a smile on my face, a few tears brimming my eyes, and heart that was so full for these characters and where they all ended up.

This series exemplified what it means to fight with all you have for the love and life you want. It was all about putting it all out there, giving it all you’ve got, and showing up when it really matters. Rebel was the perfect ending to this amazing series, and I truly could not have asked for more. This book was romance and intensity and love at its finest, and getting what I did with these characters through every page of this book and this series is something I will never forget.

Love is worth the risk. Taking a chance and a leap of faith is worth the risk. Giving into the world of feeling you share with someone is worth the risk. Falling is worth the risk….because with all of that, you fall and then you fly and then you truly have it all. The Renegades Series by Rebecca Yarros delivered 3 unique love stories that give you all of that and more, and I truly can’t say enough how much I loved every word of these books! Rebecca Yarro’s writing and storytelling are in a league of their own, and I am telling you, if you give these books and this series a chance, you will not be sorry!!

EXCERPT

“Oh God, don’t do that.”

“Do what?”

That.” He pointed toward my mouth. “Everything I told you in Vegas is still true. You’re still gorgeous, still sexy as hell, still everything that draws me in like a damned magnet, but you’re also everything I can’t have. Don’t you get that? When you pull shit like that on the dance floor, you successfully drive me batshit crazy, watching you in some guy’s arms.” A small laugh escaped him. “Like that kid has any idea what to do with you if he actually managed to catch you.”

“And you do?”

His eyes darkened. “Don’t challenge me like that.”

The tension stretched between us for a quiet moment until I broke the silence. “I didn’t kiss him.”

“I’m well aware, because if you had, I’m not sure if I could have let him walk out of here, and that’s dangerous, Penelope. You are dangerous to me.”

“I’m sorry,” I said truthfully. “Logically, I know nothing can happen between us. I get it. But I see you, and all I can think about is the way you kissed me in Vegas. The way you touched me. I can’t just erase those memories, Cruz. Like I said, somehow you make me do stupid things.”

“You? I make you do stupid things?” he nearly yelled, and I was thankful for the loud, driving beat of the music beyond the office doors. “Woman, I got into a strange car for you. Illegally BASE jumped off a Ferris wheel to stay close to you. Went to jail for you, and I make you do stupid things?”

He stalked forward, his movements smooth like a predator, and a low hum filled my stomach, growing stronger with every step he took.

“I let you stay in my class. Stupid. I look for every reason to run into you, while simultaneously praying you’ll stay far away because I need this job. Stupid. I take one look at you in that fucking dress, and I’m so hard I’m afraid I can’t hide it in a room full of students. Stupid. I can’t stop thinking about the way you taste, the way you open up under me, the way your nails left little half-moons in my shoulders when I found how wet you were for me.”

If he got his hands anywhere near me, he’d find out I was just as wet now. God, his words were the biggest turn-on I’d ever experienced. Next to his abs. Or his arms. Or his mouth. Crap, the man was one giant sex package begging to be unwrapped.

“Cruz,” I whispered as he cupped my face with one hand, his thumb rubbing over my lower lip, while he caged me against the desk with the other.

My tongue licked across the tip of his finger, unable to help myself.

“God, Penelope. You could cost me everything, and yet I’m still in here with you. And this might be the worst choice of all.”

His mouth met mine in a kiss that sent my senses reeling. His tongue swept in, claiming every curve he might have missed last time, until it felt like my mouth belonged to him.

***** 5 Amazingly Forbidden Stars *****

Jodi Ellen Malpas continues to be an author that completely consumes me within every single book she writes. She is one of my absolute favorite authors, and her books continue to wow me and blow me away with all that they have. The way her writing pulls me into it all, the way she brings this unforgettable intensity to every word, and the way she weaves so much emotion and fire and power to what she so beautifully crafts is just part of what has made her books some of my all-time favorites.

I think it’s pretty much impossible for this author to write a book that I won’t love. She just has a way of writing and storytelling that is enthralling, breathtaking, and bursting with a love story that takes ahold of me with all that it has. Jodi Ellen Malpas knows how to write a mesmerizing love story through and through, one that will own you, your heart, and your very mind, and one that will have you so beyond in every word of what she so phenomenally creates.

The Forbidden was no different. This book captured me in from the very first page, pulled me right into the thick of it with its characters, and had me completely engrossed in the intensity and spark of it all. This story definitely pushes the boundaries, but does it in a way that is real, honest, heart wrenching and truly unforgettable. The moment I finished this story, I just wanted to start it all over again to experience more time with these characters because that’s how much I loved this book.

Jodi Ellen Malpas once again blew me away with what she gave me in this book. The Forbidden was bursting with her exceptional writing, her dynamic characters that completely seared themselves to my heart, and a story that had me living and breathing and feeling every word from start to finish. This book was incredible, so well-paced, and had my heart in every single word, and that is just part of what made me love it so much.

What I loved about The Forbidden:

  • A love story that pushes the boundaries. From the moment I read the blurb for The Forbidden, I knew that this story would be one I would not soon forget. The blurb had me all kinds of ready to figure out why Jack was forbidden, how he would meet Annie, and what would transpire between them. Jodi Ellen Malpas completely lets you understand every part of what makes Annie and Jack’s relationship forbidden. She lets you see and experience where it all begins, how they fight against it, how it pushes them both further and further over that edge, and how it all keeps building and building through every amazing word. The way she so thoughtfully creates that in this book is just part of what makes this story so intense and unforgettable, and it is what had me needing to know what would happen next and how everything would work out. The Forbidden gives a story that will push your mind and heart and morals and boundaries a bit, but it does it in the most exceptional way that truly allows you to understand and feel every part of these characters and what they share. No matter what you might feel about the forbidden nature of the relationship between Jack and Annie, you will feel a lot, and that will give you the most incredible reading experience as this story unfolds. Trust. Me.
  • All those flying sparks. When I tell you that the connection between Jack and Annie is intense, I mean it is one of the most intense, fieriest, and passionate connections I have read between two characters. The sparks and pull between Annie and Jack is magnetic, so strong, and it burns every single second that those two are together. From the very first moment they meet it fires off the page, and even after the forbidden nature of their relationship is revealed, that connection and those sparks are still right there at the surface. Every new moment with Annie and Jack deepens what they share, their fight against it all, and what it’s making them feel. The way that you experience all of that fire and spark with them will have you burning for those two, what it all means, and how it continues to build and intensify. It was that spark that pulled my heart to them and that allowed me to root for them, it showed me why they fought against the pull they shared so hard, yet at the same time couldn’t help but feel what they did, and in the end it was what made this book so incredible to read.
  • Annie’s journey. Annie was a character that I found to be very real and relatable. She is a young woman in her late twenties doing all she could to make her dreams a reality. She doesn’t have any time for a relationship, but all of that changes when she meets Jack. After a night of passion that she knows she’ll never forget she soon starts to think that she might have just met someone she wants to know more of. The only problem is that she soon finds out he is forbidden, and she isn’t supposed to have him. What ensues in this book is Annie’s own emotional and personal journey to discovering what is right, what is wrong, what she feels, what she pretends she doesn’t feel, and what she really and truly wants. This book and its events push Annie to her limits. They make her question everything she thought she knew about herself, her morals and ethics, and it makes her fight with all that she has against her desires and heart. The more this story unfolds, the more Annie discovers that her fight might not be as strong as she thought it was. Getting to be there with her as she dove heart first into the web of the forbidden was everything, and I loved every second I got to spend with her real and relatable character.
  • Jack’s heartfelt determination. Jack was a character that stole my heart from the very first moment I met him in this book. He was a character that was alluring, that was tempting through every single breath, and that had me questioning my own thoughts and feelings with what was right and wrong. That man just melted my heart, and getting to experience the effect he had on Annie, the effect she had on him, and what was transpiring between them as they waded through their feelings was amazing. What I loved about Jack was that through it all he was a man that I knew had a heart of gold. He was a man who was going to fight for Annie, fight for what they felt, and who was going to fight for what they could share together with all that he had. I loved feeling every ounce of that determination with Jack, and that just pulled my heart to him again and again. The way that Jodi Ellen Malpas gave me so much with his character even though I wasn’t actually in his head made me fall for that man something fierce, allowed me to understand the struggle he felt, as well as the effect he was having on Annie, and in the end it was what made me love him so so much.
  • All the feels and struggle. The Forbidden not only packs a story of romance and forbidden and spark, it also packs a story that finds the perfect balance of feels and struggle. This story pushes these characters to their limits, and puts them through so much. It makes them struggle with their minds and hearts and even some outside forces. It brings up discussions they aren’t prepared for, it tears them in two, and it pushes everything they think they know about themselves. Jodi Ellen Malpas did the most exceptional job weaving in those feelings, those breathtaking emotions, and all of that external and internal struggle these characters go through in this book. She let me feel it all with them, and that put me in every amazing word of this story. At times that hurt my heart for what these characters went through, at others it soared with them as they felt what it did, and through it all it had me consumed with every emotion and feeling they went through as this story came to be. I was that level of emotion and feeling, along with that struggle that really put me in what I was reading, and what had me needing for things to work out for these two because of what I got with them.
  • Twist and turns, oh my, oh my. Let me tell you that this story is chalk full of events that will literally steal your breath, and have you turning the pages of this book like crazy to figure out what will happen next for Jack and Annie. The way Jodi Ellen Malpas intricately places the twists and turns of this story, the way she allows to you feel the effects of those twists with these characters, and the way that she makes those moments completely heart stopping was phenomenal. That was just another thing pulling me in more to everything I was experiencing in this story, and it was those twists and turns that had me unable to put this book down for anything. The way those twists and turns add to the story and what these characters share pulled every part of my heart and mind into what I was reading with them, and I loved that. It made this story full of adrenaline pumping moments, so much heart and emotion, everything Jack and Annie shared, and through it all it had me so encapsulated in every unforgettable word.

The Forbidden was another outstanding story by Jodi Ellen Malpas. This story definitely pushed my heart and all of my emotions to the edge, but it did it in the most intense and all-feeling way that I know I won’t soon forget. Everything I got with Annie and Jack as they wove their way through the web of their forbidden feelings was real, raw, so incredibly intense, and so packed with the most breathtaking emotion that gave me it all.

This story and its characters were exceptionally developed and crafted, had me feeling so much through every word, and in the end they gave me a reading experience that was the perfect amount of romance, fire and spark, emotion, and shocking twists and turns that had me encapsulated within it all.

Jodi Ellen Malpas created the most phenomenal story and characters in The Forbidden. She created a book I could not put down, and she created a love story that struck me to the core of my heart. This book wowed me, it consumed me, and it pulled me in a million different directions with its characters, and I can’t say enough how truly incredible it was to read and experience.

The Forbidden is a story that will make you think and feel and question from page one to the very end. It will push your heart and your emotions and your mind through every word, it will give you Annie and Jack and the forbidden web their relationship weaves, and in the end it will give you one helluva love story that I promise you won’t soon forget.

“Thank you for your help,” I say quietly, studying him, definitely detecting that he’s deep in thought. Don’t ask, don’t ask, don’t ask. I need to get back into my apartment without engaging with him, which could prove tricky when he’s blocking the doorway and looking like he has no intention of shifting to let me in.

“Annie,” he breathes. “I’m struggling so badly.”

“I’m not doing this.” I swallow, pushing my way past him. He grabs me by the top of my arm and holds me in place. “Let me go, Jack.”

“I’ve already told you I can’t do that. Annie, I’m drowning here. I’m going out of my mind, and the more time I spend with you the fucking worse it’s getting. Listening to you, talking to you, sharing a passion with you that goes way beyond the amazing time we had in bed together.”

“You have to forget!” I yell, knowing anger is the only way forward. Be angry with him. Let it dominate me and rule me, because the alternative scares me to fucking death.

He pushes me into the hall and slams the door behind us, forcing me to back up. “No,” he says, straight and even. “No,” he repeats, moving one more step forward, except this time I don’t retreat. Because I can’t. Because he has me locked in place with those grey eyes, and now they’re back to their full glory. Sparkling, even if it’s with anger. He reaches for his shirt and starts unbuttoning it before shrugging it off and throwing it to the floor, revealing the chest that’s haunting me.

I quickly look down at the pile of material, my mind reeling. His chest. His perfect damn chest. “What are you doing?”

“I have no fucking idea.” He reaches for me and slides a hand around my neck, pulling me to him. Our chests meet, and my determination to repel him vanishes under our connection. Wrongs turn into rights. Conflict turns into craving.

“I can’t get you out of my head, Annie.” His forehead meets mine, his palm massaging away the tightness in my neck muscles, softening me up until I relax in his hold. “I want you all over again, and I can’t even find the will to worry about how much more that’ll make me want you.” He breathes down on me. “I’ve played that night on repeat. I’ve dreamed of holding you in my arms again. I’ve craved the sound of your voice, the feel of your touch, the softness of your lips on mine. I know I shouldn’t want you. But I do. Nothing has ever made me feel this insane with need. Nothing has taken up so much space in my head. I can’t fucking help it, Annie.” His grey gaze sinks into me, my heart steadying to an even thrum. His head starts to shake mildly, his splayed hand moving up to the back of my head and fisting my hair. “I don’t want to help it,” he growls. “I want you. I don’t care how wrong it is.” His clenched fist tightens, gripping my hair harshly. “I know I’ve been on your mind since I fucked you every which way in that hotel room. Stop denying it. Don’t insult me and tell me you don’t crave that amazing feeling all over again. I can see it in your eyes every damn time I look into them. You. Want. Me.”

It’s me who moves in first. All me. I lunge forward and smash my lips to his, the magnetic force winning. His words winning. Jack winning. My heart winning. I coax his mouth open with hard, hungry kisses. I’ve lost my mind to a craving too powerful to fight off. And, like Jack, I don’t care how wrong it is.

Lost.

Yet as he walks me backward until my back slams into the wall, I feel found again.

I cry out, and Jack moans. We’re clumsy and desperate. He’s pushing me up the wall with the force of his kiss, then he’s rolling away, taking me with him until it’s his back slamming into the wall. It’s the elevator all over again. The atmosphere is sizzling. I’m on fire. He scoops me up, pinning me to him, and carries me into my bedroom. I focus on him. Only him and the return of feelings that I’ve fantasized about since that unforgettable night. All the guilt is abandoning me, and I let it, unprepared to let anything stop me from taking the forbidden.
