Blurb

My best laid plans had backfired. I’d thought by putting miles between myself and my first love that she’d be free to live whatever life she’d wanted, but when I came back from serving my country and Faith was raising her little girl alone, it was time to make new plans.

In eight years, not a single day had passed when she wasn’t on my mind, and not a night went by when I didn’t miss her. She was fierce and stunning and didn’t need a man in her life, but when the time came—and she wanted one—the line would start behind me.

Like smoke, I’d let her slip through my fingers once, but I’d never forgive the man in the mirror if I let it happen again. She was the fire inside me that would never burn out.

*****5 Unforgettably Amazing Stars*****

So let’s talk about how absolutely incredible this book is.

Are you ready? Pull up a chair and take a seat because do I have some things to tell you about this amazing, breathtaking, and utterly consuming book. This book was the epitome of a perfect second chance romance. It was emotional, gripping, and breathtaking with the moments it gave me with its characters. It was so exceptionally crafted, with so much feeling, so much intensity and angst and heart and heartbreak behind each word, and the way that Aly Martinez brought it all to life was everything. EVERYTHING.

She made this book thrilling. She made it breathtakingly emotional. She made it all consuming in the most unforgettable way. She made it all so real. The love, the heartbreak, the anguish, the highs and lows and everything these characters experienced. It was so real, so authentic as if I was living it right along with them, and that seared me to them in every single way possible.

It pulled me into every single part of this book. It pulled me to the minds and hearts and souls of these characters. It pulled me into every single emotionally charged moment they shared. It pulled me into their sensual and heart rendering passion. It pulled me into it all.

Every word that Aly Martinez so thoughtfully created, every dynamic layer she added to this story, and every emotion and feeling she infused and wove together so breathtakingly in this book made it one of the best books I have ever read.

Thrive is a second chance romance that follows two characters who have experienced their own world of heartbreak. Years ago they had a connection they couldn’t get enough of, and a fire that burned them from the inside out. They couldn’t get enough of each other, but when faced with a choice, one of them chooses wrong leading to heartbreak, pain, and more anguish than you can shake a stick at. That one choice changes everything for the both of them in ways that neither of them were prepared for. They go their separate ways, but another string of events brings them back together again years later.

The events of this book follow what happens when Mira and Lark come face to face after the mountain of hurt and pain that has separated them for many years. This book is filled to the brim with twists and turns, adrenaline pumping moments, and a second chance love story that will pummel your heart in the most amazing and all-feeling way with what these characters give you. Years have passed, choices have been made, but when these two come face to face again there is nothing that can stop the fire and heat and emotion that bursts out of them for one another…no matter how hard they might try to hide it and fight it.

These two have a past, they have the most interesting and captivating and emotional present together, and this story explores what happens when they must face the past and embrace and live the present, all to see what the future could bring them.

Let me just tell you this now, if I could give this book all the stars in the world, I would. It was that good. It was that captivating. It was that exceptionally emotional. It was that phenomenally written. This book had it all. It had the fire and connection and passion that Aly Martinez brings to life in the most alluring and encapsulating way. It had the story that kept me on my toes through every single page dying to see what would happen next. It had the emotion and feels that owned me through every lick of what I was experiencing with these characters.

It had the characters, the story, the heart, the heat, and everything I needed and more. Simply put, Thrive had it all. It had everything I have come to love and expect from a book by Aly Martinez. It was beautifully written, with a layer of suspense, passion, and emotion that truly delivered it all. That along with her incredible and wonderfully distinctive characters gave me a story that I know I will never forget.

What I loved about Thrive was that it was all about choice and consequences and the high stakes emotions that go along with that. It was about what happens when you make a mistake, when you make a choice, when you make one decision that changes everything. It allowed me to understand these characters, to understand their motives and fear and worries. It let me get them in the past and in the present, and it let me put it all together in a way that pulled me into every moment they shared.

This book explored what can happen when you get a second chance at it all. It shows you the hope that can bring, the emotional turmoil that can come with it, and it takes you along the bumpy, twisty, and all-feeling road that exists on the way to putting yourself back together again.

Every chapter, every moment, and everything these characters shared was brought to life through Aly Martinez’s exceptional writing. She let you live their pain, their past, and the emotion that went along with their heartbreak. She put you there with them as they were reunited, as you caught up with them, and as you learned what the past years had brought to their lives. She kept you with them as they felt that soul touching fire that seared them to one another in ways they didn’t even realize. She let you breathe their pain, their hope, their fire and their hearts and everything that exploded between them as she reached out for help and as he did all that he could to keep her from falling.

This book touched every part of my heart with what I got with Mira and Lark. When I read Thrive, there were so many moments that literally took my breath away and hurt my heart. Sometimes that was because of the shear pain and hurt these characters experienced and were going through. Other times it was because of what happened when they were together, whether it was their banter or their attempts at healing or the connection that exploded from them in such a way that made all of that emotion and hurt worth it. Sometimes I was just in awe of those two and what they shared, what they felt, and what was happening between them as they faced a second chance at what could be.

Through it all I lived it, I felt it, I breathed it and experienced every ounce of what was happening between them, and I loved it. I loved it all. Even when it hurt, even when it made me cry, even when it took my breath away because of how hard it was to read because of the depth and rawness of the emotion, I loved it. I loved it because it was them. It was their story, their hearts, and their second chance. And that was everything to get.

Now Aly Martinez has given me some of my all-time favorite characters, and Thrive just gave me two more to add to my list. Mira and Lark are probably two of the strongest characters I have ever read. They have both lost so much, been through so much, and have had to endure more than anyone should, yet they still fight. They still give it their all. Their tenacity and determination and fire is on a whole other level, and that is just part of what makes them so fantastic and distinctive.

What can I say? I loved those two with my entire heart. I loved how they pushed each other’s buttons like nobody’s business. I loved how they just got each other. I loved how those two slipped right back in to being them, yet in the same breath were older, wiser, and a more experienced version of themselves. I loved how every moment of this book let me understand them a little bit more. I loved how Aly Martinez made them so memorable. She made their humor and personalities and their fire so them, so distinctively Mira and Lark, and that brought every lively and vibrant part of them and their connection to life.

The way she so intricately creates them, their story, and everything they share together in Thrive creates a book and world that you’ll never want to leave. I spent this book LOVING every moment I got with them and the other amazing characters that make the Guardian Protection Series what it is. I love this world. I love how the members of Guardian are one crazy, unforgettable, and wonderfully ridiculous group of men who I just love with my whole damn heart. I love that every little taste of them all make me want more, and has me even more in need of the next time I get more with them.

What Aly Martinez so fantastically created in the first book in this series, continues outstandingly into Thrive. She once again allows this world to come alive in a way that is tangible, emotional, memorable, and so distinctively Guardian. It’s Leo and Johnson and Brayden and Jude. It’s Lark and Mira and Apollo. It’s everyone. It’s their personalities, it’s their sense of family and bond, it’s their friendships and connections that add another incredible layer to what you get, while just investing you more in everything you’re experiencing.

Reading this book was one of the most fulfilling reading experiences I have ever had. This book owned me. It owned my emotions, it owned my thoughts, it owned my heart and mind and my very soul, and in the end it owned every part of me as it delivered an emotionally breathtaking story of what happens when two soulmates get a second chance at love.

Thrive made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me smile at the antics and banter and back and forth with these characters, and through it all it gave me Mira and Lark and every lick of what they shared in a way that I will never forget.

Aly Martinez has done it again. She has once again crafted a book that delivers it all. She has once again created a story that will keep you and your heart on your toes, a story that will connect you so deeply to its character, and a story that will have you feeling every ounce of what it has to give you.

This book will show you what it means to get a second chance at the one choice that changed everything. It will show you what can happen when the other half of your heart comes barreling into your life. Literally. And it will show you what can happen if you put yourself out there, if you fight, and if you give it all up to what you feel and what could be in order to heal from the pains of the past.

Thrive is hands down one of my top reads for the year, and it was everything. And then some. And then some more. It is a story that I guarantee will touch your heart and own you in ways that you will love, and in the end you will be damn glad you jumped into the thick of that emotion and into that second chance with Mira and Lark because it will give you everything you need.

And then some.

—————————-

“This is yours?” I asked in awe, trailing my fingers over the shiny, black hood of a newer-model Ford pickup truck.

He’d lifted it and put huge tires on it, and while the top was spotless, there was a thin layer of mud covering the running boards, letting me know that it didn’t stay locked away in his garage waiting for a Chicago snow. It actually got used—and in places that weren’t covered in asphalt. My Southern heart, which had been relocated to the Midwest all those years ago, quaked in its stunning presence.

He stared at me, his arms crossed over his chest, the muscles of his neck straining beneath a gray henley, but not because he was stressed or upset, but rather because his muscles were so thick and defined that they were always straining.

He answered with a simple, “Babe.”

I swung my hand to the Escalade parked in the driveway. “What about the SUV?”

Twirling the keys on his finger, he walked over to me. “It’s not a crime for a man to own two vehicles.” Gripping my hip, he swayed me toward him. “If I have the kids, I drive the Caddy. If I’m by myself and the Caddy isn’t blocking the garage, I’ll take the truck.” He grinned, dipped low, brushed his lips to mine, and whispered, “If I’m with Mira, I take the truck even if the Caddy is blocking the garage and I have to move it so it’s not.”

My stomach performed gold-medal-worthy somersaults as I pushed up onto my toes and gave him far more than a lip brush.

His mouth opened, inviting me in. His warm tongue rolled with mine, acting as the welcoming committee. My head became light and I fisted my hands in the front of his shirt for balance. The moan that slipped from my throat made his tantalizing lips curve up in a smile before he pulled away.

Resting his forehead to mine, he rumbled, “Breakfast and condoms, baby. We can’t do anything without them.”

“Not completely true,” I murmured. “I saw a loaf of bread in your kitchen. Toast will serve as sustenance, and you can eat while I do other things with my mouth that don’t require condoms.”

His hand slipped down to my ass. “I’ve missed your mouth, Mira. But not a chance in hell you start things on your knees and I don’t end them inside you. And, for that, I’m gonna need more than toast. So it looks like we’re back to breakfast and condoms.” He gripped my ass, rocking me against him. “But we’re going to take the truck so you can slide in real close. And, on the off chance you feel like getting handsy while I drive, I won’t object.”

That had happened a lot when we were younger. The minute my ass had hit his seat, he’d lift his arm in invitation and I’d slid all the way over, as close as I could get without being in his lap. And then he’d drive. Windows down, the world passing us in a blur, him being the only thing in focus.

Inside that truck, I had been free to be Mira.

And, the idea of having that now, after seventeen years of feeling like someone else, I became giddy with excitement.

“You have a bench seat?” I gasped, staring up at him with a megawatt smile.

Smirking, he released me and opened the passenger’s door. “When I lift the armrest, I do.”

I giggled. “Jesus, it’s like you knew I’d be coming back.”

His shoulders jerked, and his jaw turned to granite. And then Jeremy Lark slayed me, brought me back to life, and then ruined me once and for all. “No. Because if I’d thought there was any chance of you ever coming back, I’d probably still be sitting on the tailgate of that clunker in the woods, waiting.”

   ******5 All Consuming Stars*****

So let’s talk about how much I loved Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe. This book was engrossing, it was unputdownable, and it was a book that I loved every single word of! This book owned me from start to finish. It owned me through every word, through every page, and through every heated and visceral moment that I got within it. What Lauren Rowe so exceptionally created in this book made me blush, made me feel it all with Lucas and Abby, and had me just basking in every single word that I got with them.

Lauren Rowe completely gave me it all in this book. She gave me a rock star romance that coupled music and heat and fire and a vibrancy that was practically tangible in this book. She gave me a story that took ahold of me in every way possible, and became something I NEEDED in my life. She created characters that were dynamic, enjoyable, real and relatable, yet every fantasy you need all in one. She created a book that blew me away at every turn, and I literally do not have enough words to describe how much I loved it and how much I enjoyed it.

Misadventures on the Night Shift follows Abby as she comes face to face with the living legend, Lucas Ford. He was her teenage heartthrob and crush, a rock star god who she can’t help but be star struck by, and now he’s got a proposition for her that she knows she should say no to, yet she can’t help but want to scream yes to. This book follows Abby and Lucas over their week in Penthouse A, as he tried to write the album of his life, as she tries to figure out if she can keep up in the game they’re playing, and as they both discover that what might’ve started as a little bit of heated fun, is so much more than they bargained for.

Lauren Rowe made Abby and Lucas’s characters so easy to love and connect to. They were both real and vibrant, and I loved that even thought this is a novella, I got so much development and story with both of their characters. I saw them grow and evolve and change. I got to be there with them through the highs and lows, through all the fire they shared, and through the moments that almost broke them. I got it all with them, and that is just part of what made me love and adore their characters so much!

This book was all kinds of fun, it was all kinds of colorful and vibrant, and it had this tangible heat and spark through every page of it that brought every word of what I was reading to life in the most exceptional way! Lauren Rowe’s writing was a complete delight, and this book has me all the more eager to read more of her books and to get more of her fabulous writing. I need more of her words in my life!

Misadventures on the Night Shift was a fun, enjoyable, and seriously heated read which delivered it all! This book was the perfect quick read that gave me two characters with an off the charts level of chemistry, a connection that just wouldn’t quit, and a story that I could not put down from start to finish. I loved every word of it, and I cannot recommend it enough!

This was a fanfreakingtastic book and you will love it! Trust. Me. Lucas and Abby will give you it all and then some, and you will be beyond satisfied with it all!

Review Post: The Proposition (Players #2) by Elizabeth Hayely

Professional hockey player Ben Williamson doesn’t quite know how he got himself into this situation; hiring someone to be his date to his brother’s wedding is way out of character for him. But with family pressuring him to settle down, going stag just isn’t an option. It would just be one more thing his polite, cultured family uses as ammo against him.

Ryan Cruz is having a bad day. Wait, make that a bad year. Broke, technically homeless, and living on a friend’s couch, she’s now also unemployed after her sharp tongue gets her fired from her job. So when a handsome stranger approaches her out of the blue with a proposition–he’ll pay her to be his date to his brother’s wedding for the weekend–accepting his offer is a no brainer. She needs the cash and figures it wouldn’t be in the best interest of a professional athlete to murder her.

What starts as a simple business arrangement soon becomes more as these opposites attract and get caught up in the wedding magic. Will Ben and Ryan be able to turn their relationship into something more? Or is love based on a proposition too much of an obstacle to overcome?

*****5 Fantastic Stars*****

Elizabeth Hayley continues to be a writing duo that I can always count on to create a phenomenal story that will make me laugh, that will deliver me with dynamic characters to love, and that will give me a fantastic reading experience. Their Players Series has delivered all of that and more, and I was beyond excited to get back with Gabe, Jace, and Ben as it was Ben’s turn to find the one woman who would change everything. With everything I love about a sports romance perfectly woven together with an enrapturing romance, The Proposition was the exact book I needed to read right now.

It was a book that felt good to read through every page, it was a book that had me loving what I was getting with these characters, and it was a book that delivered an extremely enjoyable story with so much fire, connection, and vibrancy through every word.

Elizabeth Hayley once again delivered a book that made me laugh, that made me smile something fierce, that gave me real characters that equally made me swoon while being completely believable, all while crafting a story that was enjoyable through every turn of the page. What I love about this series is how it perfectly couples so much together. It gives you a sports romance and what it means to be with a professional athlete, it gives you an authentic love story between two seemingly opposite characters, and it gives you a story that manages to be light and so very engaging and so easy to connect to.

The Proposition was another fantastic and fun addition to this series, and it has me all kinds of excited to get more time with all of these characters and to see where the next book will take them all.

What I loved about The Proposition:

  • Ben’s genuine sweetness. Ben was a character that completely melted me from the start. What I loved about his character was that he was this tough hockey player with a heart of gold. He was strong, yet sensitive. He was real, yet had this allure that made me want him and love him even more. He was sweet and genuine and kind, and he thought of others, which practically made me molten lava in his hands. He was also so easy to root for through this story because I felt so much for what I got with him and his story. The way that Elizabeth Hayley makes him a man that will simultaneously turn you on, while also stealing your heart made him the best in my eyes. He also made me swoon something fierce, and even though he isn’t perfect, he was pretty much golden in this book with what I got with him.
  • The chutzpah of Ryan. Ryan had some serious fire and gumption to her. She was a girl who wasn’t afraid to take a chance, to put it all in, and to just go with it. I loved that about her, and I loved how she was a character who wasn’t afraid to risk it all. I really respected that about her, and I especially respected that after learning her backstory and all that that girl had gone through in her life. Elizabeth Hayley does the most fantastic job of letting you know how she became the woman she is in the present of this book, how she found herself the escort to a professional hockey player, and how she ended up feeling what she did. Ryan was real, vibrant, and just so easy to connect to, and that is just part of what made her such an outstanding female character to love and root for.
  • A proposition no one will soon forget. The overall premise of this story follows Ben and Ryan, two opposites, who find themselves in the middle of a proposition to help each other out. He needs a date to his brother’s wedding, and she needs a job stat in order to stay above water. What ensues between them over the course of this story is more than either of them bargained for. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts, what they start to feel for one another soon becomes more real than either of them were prepared for, and the more this story progresses, the more they both start to question what this proposition of theirs got them into. I loved the story itself, and I found it to be so enjoyable, consuming in a very real way, and something that just gave me so much to love.
  • The gangs all here. One of my favorite parts of this series is getting to be back with the fantastic and funny as all get out characters that make up this world. The banter and friendship between Gabe, Ben and Jace is the absolute best. Those three crack me up so much, and I loved getting every single moment with them was I read this book. The three of them made me cry I was laughing so hard, and through it all I so completely felt how they were all there for each other, and how they would do whatever it took to be there for one another. I loved how Elizabeth Hayley perfectly balanced giving me that as I read this book. Not to be outdone, Camille’s character was a gem too. That girl had me dying laughing just as much as I was with the guys, and the way her humor and one liners added to what I got in this book was fantastic. The supporting characters of this series just made reading this book even more fun and enjoyable, and it added to everything I got with these characters in this story.
  • The laughs and the heat and the way they give you it all. Elizabeth Hayley perfectly balanced giving me so many moments that had me laughing in the most memorable way, while also creating the fieriest heat between Ben and Ryan. The way their writing brought it all to life, the way they perfectly balanced making me blush, making me laugh, and making me feel every breath of connection and fire these characters shared for one another is just one more thing that had me loving every word of what I was reading. Elizabeth Hayley found a way to deliver it all in this book to create such an outstanding read. The way they so seamlessly weave all of that together had me in every word of what I was reading, had me living every fantastic word, and had me just eating up every moment I could get with these characters.

The Proposition was another phenomenal addition to this series. It was a book about what happens when you meet that one person you never expected in the craziest of situations. It is a story of two people who would never have met normally, but can’t seem to fight the intense connection they share, no matter how many boundaries they try to put in place. What you get with Ben and Ryan in this story will give you the two of them, will give you their proposition and all its consequences, and in the end, will give you one helluva love story.

This book gave me it all. It had the humor, the heat that made me blush and melt, and it had the vibrant characters that made this a memorable and overall enjoyable story that I loved. I have loved getting more of this series, and this book has me even more eager for Gabe’s book to see what this series will bring all of these characters next.

If you are looking for a phenomenally written book, with dynamic and memorable characters, then do yourself a favor and run yourself to this book this very second!

***EXCERPT***

“All right, all right,” Gabe said. “I’ll be serious and help you.”

“Thank you,” Ben said, happy he had the support of both his best friends. The three had been practically inseparable since they’d met in college and roomed in the athletic dorm. All three had been lucky enough to play professionally, Gabe as a shortstop for Philadelphia and Jace as a quarterback for New Jersey. His friends’ close proximity to one another was the reason Ben chose to get an apartment in Philly and spend his time here in the off-season. “I knew you were kidding when you mentioned the bet, but–”

“I wasn’t kidding. I have an idea that might work.”

“No,” Ben said sternly.

“Didn’t you learn anything from me, Torres?” Jace asked Gabe. Now that the bet they’d made last summer was behind them, they could all joke about it. But a year ago, it would have been a different story. Jace had nearly lost Aly when the three friends had competed to see who could bring the hottest date to an awards ceremony. Jace had unexpectedly fallen hard for the beautiful doctor, but all of that had almost crumbled when she’d learned he’d initially asked her out because of a bet.

“Okay, I get why doing a bet again would be a bad idea, but I do think that finding some arm candy as a distraction is a solid plan. A buddy of mine brought some chick he met at an airport to his parents’ anniversary party, and everyone thought they’d been dating for months.”

Ben was skeptical. “Like a fake girlfriend? There’s no way that’ll work.”

“I don’t know, man,” Gabe said. “It might. The secret to a good lie is you gotta believe it yourself.”

“You’re so wise,” Ben said flatly.

“I’m serious,” said Gabe. “The chick I was telling you about ended up getting my buddy’s grandmother’s crab cake recipe, and that shit’s for family only.”

“Just to make sure I’m understanding you right, I should believe you because of a crab cake recipe?”

Jace raised his eyebrows at Ben and Gabe. “It’s actually not a bad idea.”

Ben rolled his eyes. “Not you too.”

“You got any better ideas?” Jace asked. When Ben was silent, Jace continued. “I didn’t think so. There’s a decent chance this could work. We just need to figure out who to get to pretend to be your girlfriend. You’re gonna be up there for a few days.”

Ben rubbed a hand over his forehead in frustration. “I don’t know. Fuck. No one’ll want to spend that much time with my family. A few hours with them is more than enough.”

“She doesn’t have to want to spend time with them,” Gabe said, a look in his eyes that told Ben he was up to something Ben was probably going to want no part of.

“Should I even ask what you’re talking about?” Ben said.

“Probably,” Gabe said. “Because I have the answer to your problem.”

Ben looked at him expectantly, but when he realized that wasn’t enough, he said, “Fine, you’re really gonna make me ask, aren’t you? Why doesn’t it matter if she doesn’t want to be there?”

A smile spread across Gabe’s face. “Because you’re gonna pay her,” he said simply.

“Like a prostitute?” Ben replied.

“Not a prostitute,” Gabe said. “An escort.”

Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands’ chagrin).

They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley’s writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: “I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind.”

*****5 All-Consuming Stars*****

Misadventures of the First Daughter was a perfect, steamy, and fully enjoyable read by Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild. I have loved each and every one of the books in this incredible series, but none of them have owned me quite as much as this book did. From the very first pages of the story, I was swept up into the all consuming fire storm of connection that was exploding between Zane and Charlotte. Everything I got with those two is something I won’t soon forget. It was bursting with fire, lac Misadventures of the First Daughter was a perfect, steamy, and fully enjoyable read by Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild. I have loved each and every one of the books in this incredible series, but none of them have owned me quite as much as this book did. From the very first pages of the story, I was swept up into the all consuming fire storm of connection that was exploding between Zane and Charlotte. Everything I got with those two is something I won’t soon forget. It was bursting with fire, laced with some very real feelings, and every new page that I got with them both just made me love what I was reading even more.

This book made me blush, it melted my heart again and again, and it showed what can happen when two people who are not supposed to be together, can’t seem to fight what they feel and what they share. Every word of this story engrossed me more in everything they were sharing, and invested me wholeheartedly in the fire, in the heat, and in the wholly real connection they shared together. What I got with Charlotte and Zane as I read this book gave me at all. It gave me them, they gave me the very real feelings they shared, and it gave me every bit of drama and action and suspense and romance and fire along the way.

What I loved about this book is that it gave me a couple that should not be together, yet still could not help but feel and give into what was sparking between them. This book and it’s events pushed them, their limits, and their hearts, and it pushed all of mine right along with theirs in the most amazing way. The way that Mia Michelle and Meredith Wild bring this story to life will have you living and experiencing and relishing in every word you get with them. You will be with them through all of the twists and turns, you will be with them as that fire and that steam turns into something more than either of them bargained for, and you will be with them as they see what could be.

Charlotte and Zane were the absolute best. I loved how real they felt, I loved how protective he was, I loved how she pushed his buttons every chance that she got, and I love that everything between them felt right even when the world and those around them said it wasn’t. Charlotte and Zane were such dynamic characters that completely stole my heart from the very first pages of this book. Those two gave me it all along the way as I read this book, and I loved getting to know them and getting to discover and experience the depth of what they shared as the story unfolded. Meredith Wild and Mia Michelle created their characters in a way that made them authentic, made them so easy to love in every way, and in a way that made the connection and fire they shared tangible. I loved every moment of getting to experience that while reading this book, and it was just another thing that made this a phenomenal read.

Misadventures of the First Daughter was another outstanding addition to the series. It was outstandingly written, it had two characters that were real, genuine and honest, and so easy to love and root for, and it had a story that I could not put down from start to finish! This book had it all, and it perfectly well together a story of heat and fire, suspense and action, all while giving me a love story that hit my heart and other parts of me in the best way!

I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s probably my favorite of the series so far, and it makes me eager even more to get more of the series, and more of these authors’ exceptional writing! Misadventures of the First Daughter will not disappoint you one little bit, so do yourself a favor and run yourself to it this instant!

Releasing Now: The Proposition (Players #2) by Elizabeth Hayley

~Excerpt~

Ryan heard a “Ben, go after her” from behind her as she hurried toward the door. She thought his mother had said it, but she couldn’t be sure. Her ears were too busy ringing with the force she was exerting to hold back her tears.

She’d made it to the driveway before she heard Ben call her name. She ignored him as she made her way to the rental car.

He caught up to her right as she reached it. “Ryan,” he breathed.

She turned toward him and held out her hand. “Keys.”

“What?” he asked, looking flustered.

“Give me the keys, Ben.”

“No, let me . . . let me take you back. We can talk and—”

“I have nothing to say to you. And I’m sure as hell not getting in a car with you.”

“Ryan, please let me explain.”

“You have. I got the message pretty clearly inside. Seems like everyone else did too. It was quite a show.”

Ben ran a hand over his head. “I didn’t mean to say that. It just came out. I was angry, and—”

“Jesus Christ, Ben! Stop. You’re not an eighteen-year-old kid anymore. You can’t use your anger as an excuse for saying shitty things. Besides, it’s not like you didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.” Ryan shrugged. “They know the truth about me, and I know where I stand with you. It was for the best.”

“That’s not . . . that’s not where you stand with me. You’re more than that.”

Ryan laughed humorlessly. “No, I’m not. I’m not even that actually. All I am is an out-of-work waitress who was desperate enough to let some guy think she was an escort.”

The startled look on Ben’s face would’ve been comical if it wasn’t for the fact that Ryan was pretty sure she’d never laugh for real ever again. “Wait, you’re not an escort?”

“Well, I mean, I guess I am now. Thanks for that resume builder, by the way. But before I met you? No. I was just some girl trying to figure out how she was going to make ends meet after I quit waitressing at a crappy strip club. And then you barged into my life and offered me a better alternative. So I took it.” Ryan had managed to keep her emotions in check, but time was running out on that. “But now it’s over. So give me the keys.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Ben pulled the keys out of his pocket, but he toyed with them instead of handing them over. “I don’t want it to be over,” he said softly.

“Well, it really doesn’t matter what you want. There’s no coming back from that. We both know it.”

“I don’t know that.”

She sighed. “Then I guess you never really knew me at all.”
