My new boss—Alexander Bane
Aptly named since he’s the bane of my existence.
Please isn’t in his vocabulary.
He grunts, growls, and demands.
If only he didn’t look so sexy when doing so.
If only his mouth weren’t so addictive when kissing mine.
He’s quickly becoming my favorite boss.
Which is wrong.
My new assistant is an unwelcomed distraction.
Snarky, witty, always smiling.
Constantly putting me in my place.
Making me second-guess my decisions.
I dislike it. Intensely.
Unless I’m kissing her.
Then Magnolia Myers becomes my favorite person.
Which I hate.
Two people working together, disliking each other.
Until they don’t.
Then the fun begins.
HR has never been so entertained.

Author’s note: For those on the lookout for a hero who’s so charming when he’s bossy that it
makes you want to follow his orders just to keep him talking.

*****5 Absolutely Incredible Stars*****

If I were to make a list of all the reasons and things and moments that I absolutely loved in this book, I would need endless amounts of paper and so much ink to capture all of that. I’m quite sure in fact that if I were to actually write down everything I loved about this book that I would be doing that for quite some time because I loved absolutely EVERYTHING about this book. It was pure perfection. It was romantic comedy goodness. It was truly the best.

Grumpy sunshine romance? Check.
Boss employee dynamics? Check check.
All of the glorious banter and tension and build up? Check, check, check.
Some serious swoon, fire, and a connection that jumped off the pages of this book as bright as the fireworks on the Fourth of July? CHECK.

When I say this book had it all, I mean that with every fiber of my being. This book had everything. It was a romance that melted my heart, that made me swoon, and that just showed me how much I needed these characters to be together. But more than that, it just made me smile and laugh, and feel so damn good. I loved everything about this story and these characters. Alexander and Magnolia are truly meant for each other. They’re meant to push each other‘s buttons. They are meant to drive each other crazy. And they are sure as hell meant to share a happily ever after together. You will know that from the very first moment these to meet and you will be feeling that through every single page of this incredible book.

Trust me on that.

Melanie Moreland completely outdid herself with this book. I have been a fan of this author for a few years now and I have loved every book of hers. They have all been five star reads and she just writes a story that is truly so easy to jump right into, that allows you to feel everything, and that shows you her characters are something special. I have felt those qualities and more and every one of her books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading, but this series and the magic that she infuses into these books is on a whole different level. These stories are just so fun. They’re so romantic. They’re so Incredible. They just make me so happy to read. The moments I’ve gotten with the characters in this book and the book that came before it were absolute perfection and their ones that I still think about. I recommended My Favorite Kidnapper to everyone I could tell about because that book was everything, and I plan to recommend this book to absolutely everyone because I loved every word of it.

Every. Single. Incredible. Word.

My Favorite Boss was the perfect romantic comedy that I could have read forever. I truly never wanted this book to end. As I’m sitting here writing this review I honestly just want to go back and reread this book. Because I already miss Alexander and Magnolia. I miss their banter. I miss their connection. I miss their office antics that are sure to get them a lovely write up from HR. I miss the connection of those two. And I just miss getting to share in what those characters feel for one another. They make each other feel everything and I just loved getting to be a part of that. Their story was swoony and funny as hell and romantic and evanescent and full of such life and color and personality.

And I really just cannot say enough how much I loved every second I got with these characters. it truly made my heart happy to be in the thick of it with these two.

As I said, when I started this book review, there are so many things I could tell you about what I loved about this book. And I want to tell you literally all of them because I truly could go on and on, but in the same breath, I want to tell you none of those things because you just deserve the chance to authentically experience them for yourself. That is how special and fun and sparkling this book is. That is how unforgettable and utterly amazing what you get with Alexander and Magnolia. You deserve to experience that yourself with an open heart that is ready to feel everything with these characters.

I promise that the second you jump into this book, you will get all of that and more with Alex and Maggie. Those two are truly something special. And you will live for the moments with them in this book. You will love getting to see them push each other‘s buttons. You will love getting to feel that glorious tension and build up. You will die laughing at some of the antics that occur between these two, but more than that you will just melt and love every bit of what they share as they give in to what is inevitable. those two are truly something special and are meant to be. And their love story is one that will just enamor you and take a hold of you with all that it has because those two were meant to find each other. And you will love getting to discover that for yourself.

I promise you that.

Now let me just tell you that these characters are going to borrow themselves so deeply into your heart you will never want to say goodbye. That’s where I’m at right now. I’m missing them fiercely and already want to reread their story. Because they are just the best. First you have Alexander. He is a bit of a butt. But in the best way. He is definitely a boss who knows exactly how he likes to run his life and his office. He likes to be in control, he likes things a certain way, and he is in search of the perfect assistant. Enter Magnolia. She is the sunshine to his grumpy. She is a woman who knows who she is and loves herself for it. She is a true gem. She also knows exactly how to be the right assistant for Alexander.

Over the course of the story, you get to be right in the thick of it with these two as they work together, as they learn more about each other, and as they soon realize that they feel a hell of a lot more for each other than they bargained for. The buildup of their connection and the tenacity of their pull towards each other is truly everything to experience. Couple that with their banter and the antics that they get into, and you will love them. Fiercely. Unequivocally. And wholeheartedly.

You will just love getting to see his hard exterior become less and less every time he’s around her. You will love getting to see her shine with pride and confidence. You will love getting to see the little and big things these two do for one another. You will probably melt into a puddle of goo in the best way over how they show up for each other and what they make each other feel. You will also just love getting to experience the two of them and the magic that they are. Their relationship is dynamic, incredible, layered, real, honest, and it’s just completely them. These two keep you on your toes and steal your heart in the same breath and it’s truly everything.

Suffice to say, I loved this book. I loved the feel of it, I loved the swoon of it all, but most of all I just loved Alex and Maggie. I loved what they did each for each other, I loved what they made each other feel, and I loved getting to be a part of every up and down in their relationship as they found a way to keep each other on their toes, while falling so hopelessly and deeply for one another. Those two truly are something special and are so meant to be, and you will love getting everything you do with them in this book. They definitely leave a lasting memory, and they will make you smile and laugh your ass off and just feel all of the feels with them.

That all combined makes these two and their story one of my favorite reads of the year and ever.

My Favorite Boss by Melanie Moreland was everything I needed it to be and more. This book was fun, it was romantic, and it is a book that reminded me on every page why I love reading romance. This author put me in the heart of this story with her characters and she just made me love them. She allowed me to love and root for them fiercely, wholeheartedly, and in the most honest in real way. Getting to experience a book that makes you smile as much as this one does, that makes you laugh to the point of crying at times with what you get with these characters, and one that also gives you all of the feels and love and swoon is something you need in your life as soon as humanly possible.

So this is me saying that you need this incredible and amazing book in your life as soon as humanly possible. it is truly one of the best books I have read this year and one of my favorite books ever. This book just had everything I needed and it made me so abundantly happy to experience what I got with these characters. I just loved every bit of it and I cannot say enough good things about it! Or Alexander. Or Magnolia. Or Hedgy. Or every other incredible character and moment and experience I got while reading this book and falling so hopelessly in love with every piece of these characters.

Trust me when I say that this is a book you need in your life this second. It will make you so happy. It will give you it all. But more than that, it will give you Alex and Maggie and every bit of the two of them in a way that you will truly never get enough of. And honestly? That’s just scratching the surface of what makes this one of the best books I’ve had the pleasure of reading.
